  • This guy's hair PISSES ME OFF.

It makes me want to KICK A BABY.

    not really.^

  • @Ramonajunie3 What do you mean his hair pisses you off? ( I seriously want to know.)

  • Comment removed

  • @513986916 i think it's just that annoying little part that hangs off.

I seriously should not be a hairdresser when I grow up

  • @Ramonajunie3 I kinda think the part that is longer is kinda cool...but I'm a 90's kid so I would think that.

  • @513986916 Yeah, I was born in '99 so I have different opinions. But still song still kicks serious ass~

  • i used to have the all hallows e.p. it was my favorite release.

  • What the hell is Davey wearing?

  • Old AFI sound..... Some new stuff actually reminds me of their old style just a little bit, though the subject matter is very different.....This song is decent, older stuff was better, but I like the screaming and the sound of a Les Paul being violently strangled in to a cranked Mesa-Boogie ....it's just good. . . Maybe I will promote my channel now....yeah, check me out, if you like punk rock. I don't have actual videos, just slideshows and original songs. Still, hear my stuff if you have time.

  • lol afi forever :P

  • Punk rock > Dickcore (new afi)

this video reminds me of the Crow.

  • The Offspring's cover is better. Just sayin'...

  • @grosx2 pffffft

  • @grosx2 no :)

  • i love it

  • Old School. So fucking good!

  • HOW HAVE I NEVER BEFORE NOTICED THE JOHNNY THE HOMICIDAL MANIAC SHIRT WORN IN THIS VIDEO?! Also, damn, I remember being fourteen years old and this being my life...I think I was kind of awesome.

  • Sometimes I get the feeling I'm the only one who loves both their old and new stuff ._.

  • Fuck it AFI isnt my style any more but you gotta love there older shit the old davey that would kick the shit out of new AFI and enjoy doing it

  • Who cares if they've changed or shit, just listen to this amazing song <3

  • AFI was and still are badass

  • Nice JTHM tee, Davey. Supa goth, bro.

  • Davey sings this song like a BOSS!!!!!

  • Song is amazing

  • i FREAKING love AFI, but i cant understand what he's saying at all x.x Sounds like he bit his tongue =X

  • @PhunnyConflicts which part lol i can clearly understand everyword if you cant understand this id hate for you to listen to their shut your mouth and open your eyes album its there heaviest and most screamy album still good but i perfer daveys curent clean vocals. but black sails will always be a favorite

  • 30 people are incomplete mortals.

  • Happy Halloween! Perfect song to celebrate :D

  • Anyone who says Miss Murder is their best song I want to slap them in the face with a white rubber glove.

  • @Stupidsquire Yeah, they've written better songs. However, miss murder is my second fave so... SLAP ME! I became an AFI fan because of that song. it changed my life. So slap me.

  • @Stupidsquire I know, right? Love Like Winter is. trolololo

  • LOVE THIS SONG!

  • The big question for me was never "is their new stuff good". The big question has always been "did and if so when did AFI sacrifice their artistic integrity?". Some might say StS. Most would say DC. Personally I think they were messing around with DC, making money and enjoying their fame. But it was good, no lie. CS sounds like insincere melodrama though. "I'll tear out my eyes for you"? Really!? Who would do that? I mean, it was always melodrama but at least they used to mean it.

  • @FeelingFreshSon Is CS supposed to be Crash Love? I don't know if it's insincere, it's just boring.

Anyway, putting out the same album three or four times in a row is not artistic integrity. 'Art of Drowning' is really the only album from their 'hardcore' era anyone needs, IMO. 'Answer That and Stay Fashionable' is alright, too, but other than those two, there's no real differentiation between albums from that era.

  • @JeffroTheMan1 bull freaking crap shut your mouth and open ur eyes and black sails are amazing black sails got me through so much shit as a teenager those albums are each different style in their own way art of drowning is more mainstream then ther punk era its the balance of the two styles.

  • @willbirkin666 Isn't there a word for this? Something about a butt being hurt?

Anyway, 80s style hardcore all sounds the same to me- power chords, yelling and gang vocals. If that does something for you, more power to you.

  • @FeelingFreshSon hey now dont be dissin on torch song such a great opener at shows not as good as strength through wounding or miseria cantare but it still opens the show amazingly.

  • Hating on their new stuff, which is one's opinion just fine, but it's like only rooting for a team when they are winning. Personally enjoy all their music, I am a fan, and am glad they branch out.

  • BADASS

  • I'll admit, I'm an OLD-SCHOOL A.F.I. fan. Not saying their new stuff is bad, cuz it's definitely good stuff, but I grew up listening to them back in their punk rock days, and to me, personally, that will always be their best stuff! No hate, no disrespect, A Fire Inside forever

  • AFI old stuff is good and their new stuff is good. Sure they change, but if they didn't change then they would have broke up because they changed their sound to their liking. Who cares if they're mainstream, they are great at what they do and deserve the attention and rewards they get. Congrats to them.

  • and Barmasterflex5000, AFI has never been metal, not even remotely. Theyre punk rock influenced hardcore. There are no metal style riffs, almost completely power chords, and songs mostly influenced by the style of the misfits. Davey even had a devilock or whatever (check the cover of "Answer That"). I get the people defending them, but personally I am just disappointed they lost their roots. Bands evolve, sure, but great bands don't lose sight of what their original fans loved about their music

  • @KillxTom they didnt loose there roots they still continue playing these songs from very proud of ya answer that shut your mouth open ur eys and black sails and theyve been doing it more often too i think they will put out another punk album one day.

  • Alot of people seem to think you can classify older AFI in whatever the garbage kids are calling punk rock today are just plain wrong. At the time, just because you yelled didn't make you "screamo" or whatever. It was hardcore, thus the old AFI stickers that said "East Bay Hardcore." There new music isn't terrible, it just has no feeling behind it. AFI creates overworked pop music now. I am glad they made money, good for them, I just miss the soul of the music they used to make.

  • @spikevalentine13

I suppose it's a sin then to want to make money? I guess you're only 'real' if you WANT to live in a shit apartment your whole life instead of making money by doing something you enjoy anyway.

You "AFI sold out" assholes seriously need to check your facts and fuck off.

  • I love how dark this shit is. It's so damn good.

    Also, he's wearing a JTHM shirt @ 0:19, cool.

  • NWD FTW

  • why can't people have opinions.

Stop trying to prove yourself right and the other wrong.

if they think its mainstream, thats what they believe.

If you think they're ever changing, thats what you believe.

You both like them and their songs either way.

  • @vampirechibiofreno shut up

  • @Barmasterflex5000 Well, they were never screamo or metal, but I agree with the general feeling.

@AtarisGuy33 Well, they aren't hardcore punk anymore. So what? Coming from a guy who names himself after The Ataris, it's pretty ironic that you should say mainstream is a bad thing. If one band decides to release 10 albums of the same stuff that's their problem. AFI are a band that's not afraid to alienate a few fans in order to play the music they goddam well want to.

  • AFI not GAYFI

  • Remember when AFI used to be good?

    Pepperidge Farm remembers.

  • @GaynorOL79 haha i get it

  • @GaynorOL79 they still are and play this and other oldies live i saw them last year and the played triple zero from shut your mouth open ur eyes along with coin return god called in sick today and days of the phoenix along with there current stuff anf stuff from sing the sorrow december underground.

  • @GaynorOL79 I remember when Pepperidge Farm used to taste good.

  • @GaynorOL79 Remember When AFI used to suck? Yah me neither

  • @GaynorOL79 Hush AFI is still good they just have a different style imagine if they always sounded just the same album after album that would get extremely boring

  • @GaynorOL79 they still are good. who the hell wants to hear this for more than a few albums? old-school AFI has its and place and new AFI has its place. i like bands that are willing to change and try new things over the ones who keep whipping out the same album year after year after year. i like their punk days as much as their new alternative and rock because its fresh and new and still sounds good - more than i can say for most artists. but still haters gonna hate.

  • This is the AFI I grew up listening to, not that ms murder crap

  • Totalimmortal offspring

  • Totalimmortal offspring

  • holy shit that band Kids carry germs does sound like afi during Shut your mouth and open your eyes

  • yo if you like "AFI" and there older hardcore shit

    you"ll digg these dudes

    Kids Carry Germs

i found there shit on facebook, it reminds me of afi during this era

  • nah thats not a devilock a lil close i guess :p im gonna gel my hair to a devilock for halloween

  • bro.. im srry but i love the offspring and afi exactly the same but afi did a better version of this song

  • Davey Havok looks like someone out of The Misfits, but ya know, a little less hetaro

  • Offsprings version is better. nuff said.

  • Heh, this is THE afi song :P

  • epic

  • now this is real fuckin music.

  • fuckin love this song

  • @Barmasterflex5000 Screamo/Metal? Your an idiot. AFI started out as a hardcore punk band. You shouldn't talk out your ass.

  • @KillerBass2 You do realize that real hardcore punk ended in the 80's, and screamo is a derivation of it? Where do you get your info? Wikipedia? AFI has been described by Rolling Stone reviews as a combination of punk, punk rock, thrash metal, alternative rock etc etc. You can't nail them down to one genre, it just doesn't do them justice. Their own website says they have hardcore punk roots, but have expanded to create even their first albums. Oh, and "Your" does not substitute for "You're"

  • @Barmasterflex5000 Lol. You really are an ignorant ass. Rolling Stone wasn't near AFI for years. Screamo is an offshoot of hardcore punk, but those bands are not related to AFI what-so-ever. Any old AFI fan can vouch for what I'm saying. We ain't arguing over what AFI is 'now', we're talking about, as you said, when they were "starting out". Take your grammar nazi ways, and shove 'em up your Sum 41-loving ass, posuer

  • Comment removed

  • @Barmasterflex5000 I agree that AFI is an amazing band whether you like the new music or old, but I take offense at the implication that this kind of music isn't good. I love the album Decemberunderground but I also love this song and a lot of others from older albums. Just because the new music made them popular doesn't mean its what made them good.

  • @Barmasterflex5000 your half right half wrong. they got popular for there cd sing the sorrow when way more people actually liked them then now where only fags and attention whores like them

  • @Barmasterflex5000 Are you high? Screamo/metal??? AFI started as a hardcore punk outfit, then had their horror punk stint, and then sold out with Sing the Sorrow.

  • @spikevalentine13 i meant screamo/punk but brain farted and just ran with it.

  • @Barmasterflex5000 still wrong, it was never screamo, never. that was a completely different scene and AFI was not it.

  • @KillerBass2 technically sing the sorrow had screamo elements you cant really classify and put any of their albums into a genre afi is afi and music isnt meant to be labeled

  • @Barmasterflex5000 Evolve? That's a strange term to use for "selling out".

  • @VicMurray88 People grow up. Even recording artists. Sometimes they stay like Slayer & keep playing the same music at 50 that they were at 20, even though their own particular tastes are quite different than 30 years previous. Some peoples bands change direction as their tastes change. Which is actually more artistically honest, keeping playing the same shit forever just to keep fans happy, or doing what you want? If AFI enjoy what they make today then that's fine by me, even tho I dislike it

  • @Barmasterflex5000 Ummm, they started out as a hardcore punk band dude.. you failed hard dude.

  • R.I.P. AFI

  • i remember the first time i saw this video, i thought the bass was so fuckin cool and davey's shirt is awesome!

  • Seriously, get a grip enjoy the music and stop whining!

  • dude wtf is davey wearing... jesus. you can hear it this is when afi started getting gay. the art of drowning was the last album you could call punk rock.

  • @borntooslow7181 hahah i feel it but i thought sing the sorrows had some a couple songs that kept the spirit

  • @borntooslow7181 Ummm this was before Art of Drowning? x)

  • i KNOW your deception.

  • The problem is, when AFI first came out, it drew out punk and eclectic listeners alike, but as they've started to change, the punk listeners are losing their faith in the band. The eclectic listeners don't mind, because they listen to a variety anyways. That is where the discrepancy is coming from. Don't get me wrong. Single genre listeners are entitled to their opinion and that's fine, I'm just expressing where the conflict is coming from. IMO, AFI never was, and never will be a specific

  • @christykientzler ah, the clash between genre fans and fans of the specific artist/musician [regardless of the genre the evolve into]. i think if people just stopped expecting bands to stay the same it would be so much simpler. if you like a certain genre that's cool, like that genre but don't get upset if a band doesn't want to stand still in the confines of that genre. people evolve and change and as they do so do their creative processes which is going to make the music sound different.

  • @catieeilcpaige exactly :3

  • @christykientzler from the looks of it, they just seem to be following trends.

  • genre band. They are a diverse collaboration, and will continue to grow and change through the years.

  • Wow. This is pretty awesome. What happened?

  • This is musical crack, can't get enough

  • does any1 know any good bands similar to 90s afi?

  • I listen to a lot of different genres of music and frankly, AFI's new music might be more mainstream than this but it is a far cry from "playing to the mass demand of kids that have nothing better to do than listen to emo and what the radio tells them." I like both their styles. Besides, if I hadn't listened to Silver and Cold, I would never have found my way here and I wouldn't know about their old music. So, cut the prejudice, would you?

  • i love old afi. their new stuff is horrible because they are playing to the mass demand of kids that have nothing to do better than listen to emo and what the radio tells them to. fuck the mainstream. fuck emo's and kids that are too lazy to go out and find true music that doesn't have to rely on big record companies, and radio to have a fan base and that is where afi made their mistake. keep with true fans and don't play to little fucks that don't like who you truely are. i hate the mainstream

  • @85skunky "Too lazy to find music that doesn't rely on record companies?" Hmm I don't know. Some kids just aren't as into music as some of us. That would be like a film buff telling us who go to AMC theaters that we're too lazy to find independent movies and watch those. We just like a decent movie now and then.

  • There is an obvious Misfits and Glenn Danzig influence here in this video and song.

  • I have been playing this on repeat for the last 6 hours.

    Never gets old.

  • dis nigga look like da joka

  • @myloveispuke daaayyyuuummmm

  • Best song ever!

  • to be honest, while theyre old music kicks some kim kardashian level ass, i don't see whats wrong with their new albums? anyway, if what ive heard is correct, crash love was their last record under interscope...return of afi's punk days next album maybe?

  • @SamDoggyDogg uhh fuck kim kardashian, fuck their last record, fuck you, fuck off!

  • @DoctorSess come again?

  • @SamDoggyDogg hahah nah thanks, i'm spent.

  • this song is fucking bad ass, sounds like a misfits song just faster

  • @FuckPunkers

Listen to the Misfit's Earth AD album, that'd be where they got a big chunk o' their influence from.

  • I think they done fucked up during Decemberunderground so in my opinion Sing the Sorrow and beack was FUCKING RAD!!!

  • just came from thier new shit. whatta buzz kill. but lets forget that. moshin with myself time!!!!

  • Amazing!

  • such a great song!!

  • i just became a afi fan a year ago i love all there song but im not sure im a fan to all there new albums

  • Older? Mature? Those words do not go with hardcore punk. Look at fuckin Agnostic Front. It's just sad that AFI has turned into another shitty mainstream band

  • hahahaha i said brand instead of band. fucking ironic but i stand by my point

  • @AtarisGuy33

They sure do. Look at Fugazi. but cool story bro.

  • 29 people are wondering why this band is ripping off AFI's name.

  • latex..

  • i miss this afi...

  • New music sucks...but older is great!

  • meu davey gayzinho como sempre ♥ hsuahsuahsuhau

  • Dammitt its 2011 and I still love this song so much. I have a pop/punk band named Hey You and even though we are a little bit of a different style then AFI, they have still played a major influence to our music. Thanks AFI and if any of youtube AFI fans would like to check out our music video we would really appreciate any input:)

youtube search: hey you band taking over

  • I would love for Michale Graves to sing this song.

  • @wagesOVsin fuck Graves. danzig was the shit

  • @rg813 Both were amazing

  • This song is fucking awesome! :D

  • he saw how good he looked in a tight leather shirt and turned gay. that explains it all.

  • @doenoodle he is with a model, a female one, so sorry not gay.

  • @doenoodle Says the fag

  • davey is all bis and tris... he doesnt work on his core... and you know it (its always sunny)

  • @jonispumpingiron lol I remember that episode

  • :( can i please have a time machine and see them back in this time i am very sorry afi but i remember when you used to be good :(

  • Dont get me wrong here i love AFI but this by far this i there WORST music video it makes them look like a bunch of emo kids. The director sucks.

  • @shawdowheartlees13 This was before emo kicked off, wasn't it? Also I'm not sure if they have a 'wardrobe' and 'makeup' department on these really low budget videos. I'm guessing they chose to look like that. If you're talking about the fact they're in a grave ard they've had a lot of similar sort of imagery on other videos.

  • @jungsbodyguard Well about emo im actully not sure.

But thats most likely true since its such a old music video.

But when i see this video i just think...like why? Like whats the story of the video why is he trying to drown him self why do they stand around a grave randomly and why is davey wearing such a tight shirt o_o

  • @shawdowheartlees13 this is not a major record, this is them at their core, and emo? no its horror punk/ neogoth its afi, they don't belong in any genre.

  • @fresh098 :P i understand its not a major record and they have no outfit ppl makeyp etcetc but i still just think emo when i see this video and the genre thing is true ive tried explainng there music to ppl its just not possible AFI's music sounds like AFI's music

  • @shawdowheartlees13 and the thing was, it wasn't supposed to be a music video for vh1 or mtv, this is indie/underground, and emo was initially coined to describe hardcore punk who played with emotion, but then it became that scene crap..

  • @fresh098 Well that certainly makes it more senable and i agree the scenes are just a bunch of wanabes First was emo then was scene then came ravers the original Emo is my fav i do like techo music tho

  • SOOO ALOOONEEEEEEEE

  • I'm totaly fallen in love in this song!!!!!

  • Yeah, I'm a huge Danzig fan as well as an AFI fan, but Danzig didn't write songs for AFI. AFI has covered some of Danzig's songs he wrote in the Misfits... maybe that's what you mean? Unless you're talking about Son of Sam which is a side project Davey Havok did alongside members of Danzig and Samhain, but even then that was written by Davey and Danzig's guitarist Todd Youth. Danzig only appears on two tracks to contribute instruments.

  • Who did this song first AFI or Offspring. I think I like Offsprings more just because it sounds more finished. Still nice to hear another band rock it cause its a good song.

  • @ttuten AFI wrote this song, Offspring just covered it. In my opinion AFI's version is the only version worth listening to. Then again, I've never been an Offspring fan.

  • Who did this song first AFI or Offspring. I think I like Offsprings more just because it sounds more finished. Still nice to hear another band rock it cause its a good song.

  • This video is part of my a fair portion of my senior pictures was taken in a grave yard...the boys worked it and I'd like to think I did a pretty damn good job. I adore AFI.

  • to be honest, i fuckin love afi but their new music i do not like a single bit. i know their getting older and more mature but idk their new shit just does not cut it for me. december underground sing the sorrow and all the albums before that was just pure fuckin gold. their new album though made me wanna take a screwdriver and drive in my ears. but i still love em and i still listen to their old music. afi fan since 99 and forever.

  • @nahbruhnah5 i like both

but at least you arent an asshole about them"selling out"

afi since 08 and still digging back

  • @nahbruhnah5 i agree completely. decemberunderground was the last good album. ppl tend to blame Jade, but hes a kick ass giutarist and i love him. i think we just all got used to AFI being crazy awsome punk rock, and Crash Love was too much of a change to go over well........

  • @nahbruhnah5 Then you aren't a fan, if you are a fan you appreciate all of their work, no matter what, so please stop calling yourself a fan.

  • @Nercrophage hah made me laugh. i listen to their new shit even though i dont like it. and i bought their new album. so why dont u stfu

  • @nahbruhnah5 It took me a while to get comfortable with December Underground, but of course I put it in my special place that is inside of me! They have changed, and of course if you're going to be a band as long as them, you must, it is unavoidable! I'm glad you didn't completely give up on them! Just because a band you once liked, goes in a direction you can't follow, doesn't mean you still can"t be a fan. :D

  • @nahbruhnah5 id say december underground is crap too. Sing the sorrow still had some AOD style, except on the shittiest track, silver and cold.

  • @memohavok well actually yea but i sorte of got into it in a way. and dood silver and cold was the beez neez. lol

  • @nahbruhnah5 Sing the Sorrow and Decemberunderground are garbage....The Art of Drowning and before are where its at for this band..

  • @EnthroningDarkness eh in ur opinion
