  • Of course, an even more basic question is: why would an omnipotent being even CARE whether you believed in it or not? Why would it be so insecure and egocentric?

  • That's one thing I never get. Eric Hovind in this clip seems to be making fun of the ridiculous early creationist arguments along the lines of "Satan planted the fossils", saying "Now we no longer appeal to faith, that would be just silly! Now we've got evidence." , yet, in other clips I saw, he's answering various questions with "Well, God says it, and I believe it, that's all you should care about."

  • Did you just push determinism (free will being one of the most debated subjects in philosophy) without giving it another thought or did I miss something? Or were you presuming a fatalist opinion on behalf of the creationists?

  • @JodaSFU - Yes, but only after noting that God is said to know everything including how our lives will progress, meaning that we MUST be fated to progress as he knows ahead of time we will. This, combined with the idea that he is the one who created us the way we are, yields my conclusion that God must therefore be knowingly sending us to Hell, meaning that he cannot be testing our faith since such a test would be pointless.

  • @Venaloid Oh ok. So you're presuming fatalism. I just wanted to make sure you weren't presuming determinism, when there's still no clear answer as to whether or not we have true free will, and stating either as an absolute fact would be dishonest.

  • @JodaSFU *presuming fatalism on behalf of the creationists.

  • Is gravity a test too? Evolution is just as proven as gravity. We do have free will.

  • And why would he create us, know that we were going to hell? The only way that can be justified is that he is evil.

  • who's the comedian at the end?

  • @A5Hellcat - Bill Hicks, who has earned the AmazingAtheist seal of approval.

  • Maybe god is like a Time Lord, there isn't just one possible future, but he sees all possible futures, and is just very good a picking which one will come next.

    Would that even make sense?

  • @KnightTemplar108
