John Edwards is a coward and a con. I use to do cold readings for free ... it's a parlor trick, and it's easy to do. Psychics have been ripping people off as much as preachers ... and they are all nothing more than parasites that pray on fear and emotion. The tests done at ASU were performed by Schwartz. It has been repeated to death that his methods were as faulty as possible. The so called scientific experiments were anything but. There were faulty protocols, loose controls, cherrypicking data, confirmation bias, and whatever else you like. They were so bad that ASU pulled the plug on them.

So far, I have not seen any proof that John Edward is a fraud -- just slander and inuendo from defenders of outdated dogma. Things exist, which conventional science cannot explain. Undoubted this may open the door to certain levels of hysteria and fraud. @sabin97 again, im not a psychic, but from what hes tried to 'teach' (lol) me about it, it just kinda comes from nowhere. and only when he 'looks' for it. hope that makes sense. well, ive personally brought people to him, who i KNOW he has never met or even knew anything about, and he will look at them, or they will give him their name, or maybe even just last name, and he pauses for a few seconds, then he can tell them, names, adresses, numbers, pretty much anything (or at least alot!)

Confirmation bias is what their clients experience, and it is extremely well documented and understood. Witness testimony is the lowest form of evidence because of human falibility. Not for proving psychics, not for proving the efficacy of a drug, not for anything to considered valid. It must be replicated, and if repeated attempts to replicate fail, then the phenomenon cannot be considered real. It is a pet project to distort results and support precious little beliefs like yours. Rhine's results were never, ever able to be replicated, even by him, and using proper Bayesian statistical methods, even he admitted his positive results degenerated to chance or below. So far, I have not seen any proof that John Edward is a fraud -- just slander and inuendo from defenders of outdated dogma. Things exist, which conventional science cannot explain. Undoubted this may open the door to certain levels of hysteria and fraud. And to say, "Well, it's beyond science", then you have to prove that there can be things that work outside the laws of nature. Quite frankly, if one psychic can prove, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that they are able to do what they claim, they would be winners of the novel peace prize for proving laws that exist outside of those that the universe runs on. But they can't, so their claims are unlikely to be true

The whole book is an accurate description of skeptical extremism and the lengths some people will go to in order to put blinders on the public. Why would a perfectly confident psychic want to enter into a trap set by an acknowledged hater of the afterlife, or waste their time with someone who has already been caught trying to skew test results and and to bias people by twisting other people's words? Randi's motivation for ignoring applicants? Simple! He would loose all his credibility in one fell swoop, obviously! Proper observing conditions? I've seen his criteria, and they are loaded with opportunities to misinterpret results.

@oakman1947 In most of the cases, he is not even part of the judging panel. Hater of afterlife? Name calling doesn´t make your case. Confident psychic "wasting their time"? Are you kidding really? Do you have any proof at all of any time anywhere that he "skewed" test results? Or are you only blowing hot air? Something that is very common when a fraud of these type is debunked

If I were a psychic, I would not trust James Randi to refrain from pulling the kind of fraudulent stunts he's pulled in the past. People have challenged Randi to let them prove their ability, and he has walked away! His million dollar challenge is bogus and rigged!

Why would he submit to a test that he knows he will fail, and lose his career, while he can keep making money with his stupid tv show and screw all the suckers that believe in him? if he accepts the challenge, he's gone, and another "psychic" will take his place, if he doesn't, he continues doing what he is doing...

Edwards knows there's a "sucker born every minute" and sadly, he will continue to thrive as long as people don't do their homework and see him for the fraud he is. Personally, I'd like to stick a pineapple up his ass and see if he can guess what fruit it is.

I love how Glen Beck , just giggles at John Edwards' ANSWER.
So, it's like Glen Beck is saying, "yeah , his name is an adjective !! Never mind, John that you didn't answer the question. Never mind that you can't give an explanation why you don't want a million dollars. He says , read the book, if you want to know about this stuff. Can you believe that ?? If you really listen to John's answer, he just says "Read the Book"

I dont particulary like John Edwards but I dont see why at all ANYONE would want to participate in Randi's challenge. He doesnt believe at all. So why would anyone want to subject themself to an unbeliever? To me this is like trying to get someone to buy something that has no money. There is no point.

And even though that person regularly claims to hold there breath for money all over the world they refuse. Now why do you think that is?
