  • FROM BRAZIL

    FROM MARCIO

One more useful tip... Thanks, teacher.

    I'm your fan. Hugs!

  • should be Usonian instead of American. American is anyone from the Americas which is not just English speaking

  • I got everything :D thanks again

  • i dunno

  • i learn to speak perfect englsh in one day. better that the american accent

  • well.. i have watched many ppl writing ''she wanna be there...'' and i'm not from usa or any place where the first language is english.. but i know that i'mma = i am going to, so i think you should teach us sth 'bout it :D, btw thx for this class was helpfull

  • next lesson: "gon'"

"I'm gon' head over to the store"

  • Thanks a lot Rachel. Very nice job.

  • your video is really helpful!

  • Good lessons.

    You are very pretty.

  • @brandoscostumes in the last sentence, 'wanna' can occur.

'Who do you wanna visit John?' is a perfectly valid sentence.

It's not not to be an asshole and confuse the people who are watching this to legitimately try to learn this.

  • no circumstance, however formal, would break the words 'want' and 'to' (or any other such sequence). THAT is foreign. if you feel 'wanna' would be too casual, the only alternative is a glottal stop replacing the first one. the assimilation of the 't' to the 'n' preceding it (being same place of articulation) occurs as simply a phonological rule of natural english speech.

  • @brandoscostumes But the T of TO would be articulated ... wan'to

  • @rachelsenglish quite right. as for the distribution of wanna-contraction, there are environments in which it cannot occur (when there is a subject in the complement clause that would have intervened but which was later fronted).

you want to visit john ---> you want to visit who? -----> who do you wanna visit?

you want her to visit john -----> you want who to visit john? -----> who do you want to visit john?

in the last sentence 'wanna' cannot occur. universal gramma is real!

  • @museinter They are simply contractions of going to, want to, got to, just like can't is a contraction of cannot.

  • Great videos!!! I'm from Puerto Rico and i'm taking my medical liscence examination soon in the US and it helps to interact with my patients. Keep the good work! You're gourgeos by the way.
