@BLACKDEATH6169 Basically a device that captures audio/video from an external source (in this case, my Xbox). They range from $20-200 dollars. The one I used to film this is way inferior to the one I use today, though. Keep an eye out on my blog over the next couple of days. I'm gonna update my FAQ and go a bit more into detail about how I record.
Hey, I have watch plent of video machinima here on YouTube but yours has to be some of the best. I have just A few questions. Could you tell me what you use to get such good video quality and even sound to capture this type of machinima, is it some kind of capture card or something else? Thanks and keep up the great videos!
@DoomTrooperSDMF The capture card I used for this is a Dazzle DVC 100, but my new capture card that I use for my more recent videos is a Hauppauge HD PVR, and I render those videos in HD in Sony Vegas Pro 9.
@ShawtyHullstineFilms im gonna get a capture card the dazzle i can get it from ebay for 30$ don't care if its used and doesn't work i can get my money back
@BloodyAces4 That would all take place in the editing process though. I usually jack down the game volume and slap music over top of it anyway, so you probably wouldn't be able to hear. But those sounds sneak through in even in the best of machinimas.
@SableColt if you go to free cam when you where just spectating the guy who got a killing spree or medal like that you will hear it so spectate some one who doesnt get many
@kaneclaw4 You are either the dumbest raging 12 year old or the most brilliant troll that I have ever had the displeasure of coming across. I read this comment and literally laughed for a solid 5 minutes.
@Comanderloz When I recorded this I used a Dazzle DVC 100. Since then I've switched to a Hauppauge HD PVR. I highly recommend the Dazzle to anyone who is new to machinima. When you become more advanced, then shoot for HD.
@FamuzProductions When I made this I used a Dazzle DVC 100 and Pinnacle Studio 12. I've since moved on to using Hauppauge HD PVR and Sony Vegas Pro 9.
ok help me out here what is a capture card?????

@SableColt I didn't do anything. I guess there weren't any killing sprees.
ShawtyHullstineFilms 8 months ago
@SableColt even if he "did" get a killing spree you could mute the sound

@Xanaboy1 I was just kinda screwing around with the camera. Shakey cam is a film technique, though.
