I once ran across, in the NYC library, in VHS format, a short film on the life of a famous painter of the 1800's, Spanish I believe. Pierre Clementi played the painter in the reenactments. I have since tried to find information on that film to no avail.

see pierre clementi in 'los idoles" on youtube. Also his best and longest performance in Partner" by Bertolucci, his most artistic film.

Clementi's best and longest performance is in "Partner" by Bertolucci. He plays a dual role in a story adapted from Dostoyevky"s "The Double". His Italian career ended with a drug arrest in Italy. He was detained for 18 mos. and was released after a hunger strike without ever being convicted. Probably politically motivated.

Criterion released a wonderful DVD of this film.
Look for "The Milky Way".

it's from pierre Clementi himself.
a dvd was issued in France (perhaps new old)
