  • Couldn't you borrow a mate's car? Hehe, the taxi effect is just a little weird, that's all. Did you jump in a taxi and say 'follow that noisy car?'

  • what is an "NSX"? and what is a "STYLEE" ??

  • ofcourse GPS is working in thailand, i kno bcuz im thai, and most of the ppl i kno hav garmins in their cars. dunt b stupid people. even a N 95's gps is working fine in BKK. oi เบื่อพวกฟรั่งโง่

  • Nice car. You need the Dali front license plate bracket.

  • music ?

  • perfect

  • nice car bad rims...

  • eh...to each his own. I like em alright. The red centers are interesting, but I'd prefer them to be the same white as the wheel.

  • Could score Acura badges 4 export...

  • haha yeah I'd trade him my taillights if he were interested.

  • YEs the car in Thai cost either double or triple the price compare to Europe,USA and Ocenia.

eg. Lamboghini, Ferrari would cost around $800,000 or $1,000,000 VS approx $200,000-300,000 in Europe and the State

  • it is a beautiful car

  • I have the same GPS...Garmin. Does GPS work in Asia? I know GPS is 'Global Positioning Satelitle' but I thought it was only for the US and Europe, for the public sector that is.

  • lol ? your joking right? GPS'es work in asia obviously

  • well for a gps system to work you need the satelitte and the local maping data installed on your gps system.

does garmin even make maps for asia? probably for a few countries but i doubt for mainland china (not taiwan) and most of SE Asia.

thus without local maps, gps wouldnt even work like its supposed to.

  • xuimod, you might want to travel more. you sound like you've never been anywhere outside the states.

  • It is better for everyone to suspect you are a fool, than to open your mouth and confirm it.

  • no need to be a dick. it was just a question.

    i didn't know, so i asked a question.

what happens when YOU don't know something.... just sit there like a dumbass?

hopefully like me you ask. again, don't be dick.

  • OK, I was a little mean, but you are not being fair either. You did NOT just ask a question. In fact the one question you DID ask was rhetorical. You did not expect a response.

Instead you used a faulty premise to try and prove your argument "thus without local maps ...."

Had you asked "Does GPS work in Asia?" then I would have been a dick to burn you, but you did a lot more than ask a simple question. You're like baseball batter trying to fake a foul but the ball totally missed you.

  • I don't think you know what a rhetorical question is. I don't live in fucking Bangkok (and Asia for that matter) so how would I know?

The two questions I asked where:

1st, "Does GPS work in Asia?" and 2nd, "Does Garmin even make maps for Asia?" neither of which is a rhetorical question.

Of course I expected a response (because I don't live in Asia).

Someone answered my first question but with too much attitude....but they answered it so whatever. But no one answered my 2nd question.

  • Also what's this about a Faulty premise? When I said is a fact.

For GPS to work a person need 2 things: #1, a satellite signal and #2, local maps located on receiver.

So how is the statement 'thus without local maps' a faulty premise? Its a fact, that's how GPS works (at least Garmin GPS).

  • btw, my comments about not being a dick (when someone asks a question) was directed towards Traffordsgoogle.

  • Yes your comments reached me, but it turns out they were looking for the wrong person, so I redirected them back to you. ;-)

Just because I put a question mark at the end of a sentence doesn't necessarily mean it's a real question? Admit it, that question mark was just an insurance policy in case you were wrong, but you were pretty sure of yourself.

  • GPS is Global Positioning System.

It works everywhere in the world (Global). It is freely available to anyone with a GPS receiver. There are many different providers of maps, including Garmin, and google maps, for Asia.

  • There's a signal everywhere but you need local maps. If you have GPS unit with North American maps its not going to work in Bangkok.

Like I said for GPS to work you need two things: #1, a signal and #2, local maps on your unit.

  • So you're wrong.

It doesn't work everywhere. It only "works everywhere" if you have to proper hardware and software (including local maps).

So my question was in regards to local maps (software).

Man, you are all over the place. "Faulty premise" now ignoring the need for local software/local maps to make GPS work.

Your ego seems to be bigger than your level of intelligence because your thought patterns are all over the place. So disorganized.

  • I was trying to be nice, but you just don't take a hint do you?

GPS has three parts: satellites, control and monitoring stations, and GPS receivers.

Maps are not required. If you don't believe me, give me your coordinates and we'll plug them into a GBU-31 JDAM. I promise it will find your dumb ass - even in Asia you ignorant pissant.

You are living proof that a little bit of knowledge can be very dangerous. If you shut up and listened more often, you might actually know something by now.

  • For the Garmin GPS in this video maps are necessary.

Maps are always necessary. The maps may be permanently on the GPS unit's memory (so you don't have to download them) but maps are still needed.

Oh really and in case I am slightly wrong about GPS (maybe) how is that 'dangerous'? stop exaggerating.

OMG, I may be wrong about GPS..... that is oh so dangerous.

    "Faulty premise", now I'm "dangerous".

BTW, I have a ton of experience with GPS (close to 8 yrs) so I know what I'm talking about.

  • The danger, of course, lies in the fact that - because of your supreme confidence in your own fallacious reasoning, others might actually start to believe what you are saying.

When people act upon misinformation, unintended consequences occur.

Just because you've been ignorant or misinformed for a long time (close to 8 years), does not make you any less ignorant or misinformed.

A GPS 'expert' who doesn't know if it works in Asia, or even what the letters GPS stand for? Surrrrrrrrrre.

  • BTW, we are not talking about JDAM's and missiles here. We are talking about consumer level GPS used to navigate the streets.....there's a huge difference.

For consumer level GPS, maps are definitely needed.

  • Now you're doing backflips. You never mentioned 'consumer level' (whatever that means) in your previous misstatements.

You are absolutely wrong. GPS is supposed to do exactly what it says - give you your position on the globe, in the form of coordinates.

Of course, with software it can be combined with some other very useful functions, such as maps and street directions, but really, what you want to do with the information that the system is giving you, remains your own concern.

  • yea im thai and cars here r really expensive. but stil there r rich ppl, they have their clubs like they hav about 1,500 ferrari.

  • all rentals bro

  • u can go from heatrow to bangkok with qantas

  • this is a nice video. it is just driving around, but with a nice car and the help of the music it all seems so purposeful.

  • Bangkok and not a single dark haired goddess in the clip? not good! but cool car

  • this is like those porn sounds

  • Sweet video, and NSX has nice sound =)

  • I realize Honda = Acura, just like Toyota = Lexus, Nissan = Infiniti. But I've never heard ppl say a Nissan G35, or a Toyota IS300.

  • Thats because the Infiniti G35 in Japan is reffered to as the Nissan Skyline GT350 and the Lexus IS300 is the Toyota Altezza. Both of those are only sold in Japan.

  • LOL taxi chase was hilarious, Next time when making a video with music If you want to hear the engine sound turn down the music vol. Do a little editing. But other then that video was cool with the music,

  • If you watch the video, I do turn down the music when the best sound was available. Unfortunately, it was just a consumer digi camcorder I was using which was not the greatest at picking up sound. There was a lot of wind noise and you probably would not have liked to hear the music the taxi driver was listening to.

  • Honda NSX the best car there is...

  • I though NSX is an Acura Model? Honda NSX, never heard of it before.

  • Uh, HONDA is the real name.

    ACURA is not.

  • It's the same thing stupid!

  • bangkok is in thailand

  • LoL !!

  • how did they get an NSX in thialand?

  • There are a few in Thailand. I heard somewhere around 50 something.

  • no moto bikes? this film obviously wasnt filmed on sukhumvit. try that area at around 5pm if you think theres no motorbikes in bk traffick

  • wow bangkok looks so clean and americanized highways. and i didnt see many motos liek i expected in SE Asia. Ive been to cmabodia and it sad to see that my homeland it not developed like bangkok.

  • i like the set of wheels twheels. The stock set is too small isn't.

  • god that nsx is so beautiful :( i want one

  • What song is this?

  • Alpha Male by Royksopp

  • Personally I would have used another set of wheels. But daaaaamn that NSX is fucking sweet, love the color and clean look. Shit man

  • man what does your friend do in thailand?

  • He's in banking from Singapore.

  • damn pretty car, but bad bad city to drive it :D, i was driving an 993 porsch 2 years ago, and crashed it in traffic:/

  • Very nice car i wan't a nsx or tvr..it's fast but not as fast as a tuk tuk :)

  • nice NSX btw.

  • the reason, why its so expensive, is tht their currency is inflated. thai baht is very weak against the stronger euro, same way in myanmar kyat (where im from). an s-class would be 300K-600K+ USD.

  • Actually, it's not the currency inflation, it's the duties. For instance, a Toyota Fortuner which is a really nice SUV with 3 rows of seating is only about 25k. So cars are expensive, some cheap...

  • That's true - 100% tax on most 'luxury' cars. But I think not everybody pays it.

  • good music

  • Kind of a waste to see a nice car stuck in traffic like that.

  • THE WAY THEY TAX CARS THERE IS ASNINE. gUESS THATS WHY EVERYONE DRIVES SCOOTERS, WELL THAT AND THE BAHT IS 34 TO 1 AGAINST THE DOLLAR.

  • Thai Bhat... lol... what a funny currency, almost as funny as the Zimbabwean Dollar or even the Vietnamese... DONG!!!!! THAI BAHT THAI BAHT THAI BAHT THAI BAHT THAI BAHT THAI BAHT THAI BAHT THAI BAHT THAI BAHT THAI BAHT THAI BAHT THAI BAHT THAI BAHT THAI BAHT

  • i m going this year six weeks to thailand

  • did you pick up hoooos?

  • he must have paid a grip for his nsx

  • what suburg is dis eg bang na

  • Ratchadaphisek Road, near Huay Khwang

  • too much taxi, not enough ho

  • Yes, it costs more than one new in the US. To give you an idea of how much cars there cost, a Porsche Cayman will run you over $200k USD. F430s are well over $1 million.

  • wow. if he bought a 91 in bangkok recently, that car must have almost cost the same as the US pricetag when it first came out in 1991!

high end cars are unbelievably expensive there, or atleast thats what all my friends tell me.
