Great review! Every now & then I am tempted to look for a new foundation. I recently got to try the MUFE HD foundation. It certainly had a nice finish, but I am still not sure. It is pricey. Did it get oily or shiny after extended wear? I also tried the Mat Velvet. foundation. The result did not wow me. LOL! I also blend 2 MAC SFF colors to get the perfect match - NC 42/44 summer, NC37/42 for winter. I have had great luck with SFF...so maybe I will stick with it. Peace *Elise

My friend just asked me to learn how to do make up at his studio From my point of view, watching the video, It cold be the light but t seems like the MAC, it seems more yellowy but more dramatic ( could be the fleck). I mean, if you want natural looking skin, dont wear it, right {:-)

Deff MAC! The make-Up Forever gives u indeed a whitish-greyish sheen. Looks like u have a stocking over ur skin. Whether MAC gives u (like u noticed urself) a more natural nice brown colour
The MUFE side looks the best and IMO looks very natural, light and finished. The mac side is much heavier & looks like foundation. The HD powder is 1 of the best products out there and i love it . I know sometimes when we're used to wearing a certain product, u get used to the look of it and it's not always obvious another is better. U are a pretty lady with or without makeup, but the MUFE is perfection on you. You always do professional great vids. I enjoy them and keep coming back.
In my opinion MAC foundations don't work well for oily skin. I know from experience it didn't work for me. I just tried MUFE foundation and I loved and their conceler also.
I have very oily skin, so for me I like the Make Up Forever HD because my face doesn't get as oily throughout the day as it does with Mac. I've tried many of the Mac products and have yet to find one that works well with my oily skin. I think my oily skin makes the HD make up look more natural on me.
Thank you for the info..saves me time and money. The Mac I'd use on a daily basis. The one with more coverage i'd use for going out and/or special occasion. Are you able to tell me what drugstore foundation would be closest (or perhaps even better than) MUFHDF.

The MUFE foundation probably looks like foundation on your skin because it doesn't match your skin correctly. I Have their HD foundation in 173, it is a little darker than my skin, but blends easily, and it looks like I have nothing on.
I think for everyday The MAC works ...Special occasions say wedding etc the HD both look great on you. would it be possible to cross the products using the HD powder over the MAC ? as a setting tool to balance it out?

That's really great info on your mixing...I really think it's impossible to match my tone unless I get it customized at the dept. store. It's would be so nice to just order what i need in one bottle. There's a brand of makeup that is sadly pricey but one of the best I've ever seen and that's the Vincent Longo Water Canvas.
That foundation surpringly enough has a wide range of shade from light skinned, medium, and dark skinned black women because I've used Vincent Longo on people before, from someone who was Nicole Kidman's color to someone who's Roshumba's color.
It looks just like skin and you don't need powder and it covers acne scars, it covered mine!
The makeup forever makes your skin look flawless. It looks much better than mac. The mac makes your face look shiney. You look better in mufe. But that is my opinion. It is silly to buy two bottles when one from the other does a good job.
Never could use Mac foundation.. .it always looks GREEN on my skin.. bleck! MUF is great! Currently using Black Opal though. That's a pretty cool brush you are using there for your foundation!! WOW!! You look purdee!
Makeup Forever Foundation is by far the best. It has every shade for every skin tone and its not cakey like the MAC foundation is. The Makeup Forever Foundation is more moisturizing. Also, the MAC foundation makes you look like you have a tone of makeup on and the Makeup Forever Foundation looks airbrushed.

Excellent video comparison between HD MUFE which I only heard mostly rave views about and am curious to try it out. Both look gorgeous on you. The HD side is almost luminous looking, like you are glowing. Good think it is better at hiding pores. Do you notice any difference in the wear of the HD foundation? Is the staying power as good as studio fix?
i like the makeup forever hd side better it like u said gives a more soft focus look....and yes it does look more high glam or as u put it "made up" but i like tht look on u better....studio fix fluid is great but i like the hd better!!
ooh and also i think when used correctly, mac can be natural as you say but also makeup forever is made for photography and film which is why its usually matte and more made up because you should always wear more than you think for photoshoots and films
hmmm to me on the video, the mac one looks alot more yellow tinted than the makeup forever which is why i think in comparison the makeup forever looks a bit grey, the mac one definately makes your skin look more orange
Hey , have you tried setting the MAC foundation with the HD powder ? I use the HD over blot powder , I find the blot powder is more cakey and I have quite oily skin as well .
i like them both have them both and have a vid on them. i like mufe a lil better b/c of the finish and coloring... i have to mix my mac s well too red for me... i am mufe 178... mac is a lil heavy and i pref the consistancy but the hd is bang on with the color and fab finish!! love!! thanks...

You definitely need to use the primer. MUFE HD has the caramel primer which works exceptionally well with the HD foundation. I have no ashyness and it looks great! I use MUFE HD #175 Cafe and the HD powder is wonderful!
See I'm the opposite MUFE foundations look very natural on me and none of the MAC foundations are red enough. I love MUFE HD, it is a perfect color match and it feels so nice and goes on easy.

i personally like the MAC on you, it looks more natural. (same with me) i haven't tried the MUFE foundation, but if you wanted to get a "poreless" look, try the clinique pore minimizer. i use that and get fab results!
I love your video! You are right, the MAC side looks more natural, but I think that's b/c the MUFE foundation is not the perfect match for you (like you said, a little grayist looking). I've tried the MAC one and it was very NOT natural on me, probably b/c it's too much coverage, and I also noticed large pores. I am glad you liked both of them tho.. thanks for the review!!
I agree that the HD gives some sort of a grayish-ash look on my face. I always have to use a certain powder to offset it. I use the HD 175 (it didn't look as gray as the 177)with deep dark blot powder to minimize that "gray". I've never tried the fluid Mac. I'm going to see how that works for me. Great Video...Thanks
Annieup7, if you find that you have still some ashy-ness with the 175 HD foundation and have to offset with a powder.....go to sephora and ask for Make Up For Ever's HD Microperfecting Primer #4 (Caramel). It gives your skin a beautiful warm tone and is amazing for reducing or offsetting any ashy-ness....in addition to smoothing out your skin and increasing the wearing time of the foundation! Good luck!
that gives that same soft glow. You could use it w/o anything else cuz you do have beautiful skin, or on top of the MAC if you prefer. Great tutorial!
The finish on the HD side looks better. Perhaps if you mixed two colors of the HD foundation you would get the same glow if not better than the MAC gave. A fair comparison would have been using one color of each product. Also HD has a powder
I love the HD foundation. I cant stand to have the mac foundation on my face. When I wore the HD I couldnt even remember at times that I had it on. Great tutorial!
i think it's because the mac side color matches better to your skin tone...it's not necessary better. i think mac products cater to different skin tones more than many other lines
MUFE HD actually has more color matching options than MAC. HD caters to every possible undertone that your skin could have. If you've never checked it out, you should go to Sephora and see what I mean. I think you may be impressed.
I agree with you that the MAC side looks more natural, I also have the HD foundation and I thought it made me look a little ashy, I think I may have to take back because I don't like when it looks like I have on foundation, thanks for the review.
Hey wud u suggest using the HD powder over the Studio Fix foundation cuz I have oily skin so I love my Studio Fix and since u said that the HD powder minimizes the look of your pores better than the blot powder?

Thanks for this review. Its really hard to tell the difference. The mac side does look a little more natural where as the mufe looks more matte to me. I to prefer a more natural look than a matte look. To cover up your pores can you put a little of the mufe than apply the mac right on top to give the look you prefer? I may go pick of the mac they had my color NW43 at the CCO for $17.95

i like the makeup forever hd side better it like u said gives a more soft focus look....and yes it does look more high glam or as u put it "made up" but i like tht look on u better....studio fix fluid is great but i like the hd better!!

ooh and also i think when used correctly, mac can be natural as you say but also makeup forever is made for photography and film which is why its usually matte and more made up because you should always wear more than you think for photoshoots and films

hmmm to me on the video, the mac one looks alot more yellow tinted than the makeup forever which is why i think in comparison the makeup forever looks a bit grey, the mac one definately makes your skin look more orange

Hey , have you tried setting the MAC foundation with the HD powder ? I use the HD over blot powder , I find the blot powder is more cakey and I have quite oily skin as well .

i like them both have them both and have a vid on them. i like mufe a lil better b/c of the finish and coloring... i have to mix my mac s well too red for me... i am mufe 178... mac is a lil heavy and i pref the consistancy but the hd is bang on with the color and fab finish!! love!! thanks...

Beautiful! Just lovely. I have to say I like the HD better tho. Just the amazing ability to make skin appear to have flawless texture. From my computer screen, I don't think either side looks "made up", but maybe you're seeing something I don't. Anyhow, thanks for making this video... none of these products are cheap. lol. You definitely need to use the primer. MUFE HD has the caramel primer which works exceptionally well with the HD foundation. I have no ashyness and it looks great! I use MUFE HD #175 Cafe and the HD powder is wonderful!

See I'm the opposite MUFE foundations look very natural on me and none of the MAC foundations are red enough. I love MUFE HD, it is a perfect color match and it feels so nice and goes on easy.

i personally like the MAC on you, it looks more natural. (same with me) i haven't tried the MUFE foundation, but if you wanted to get a "poreless" look, try the clinique pore minimizer. i use that and get fab results!

I love your video! You are right, the MAC side looks more natural, but I think that's b/c the MUFE foundation is not the perfect match for you (like you said, a little grayist looking). I've tried the MAC one and it was very NOT natural on me, probably b/c it's too much coverage, and I also noticed large pores. I am glad you liked both of them tho.. thanks for the review!!

I agree that the HD gives some sort of a grayish-ash look on my face. I always have to use a certain powder to offset it. I use the HD 175 (it didn't look as gray as the 177)with deep dark blot powder to minimize that "gray". I've never tried the fluid Mac. I'm going to see how that works for me. Great Video...Thanks

Annieup7, if you find that you have still some ashy-ness with the 175 HD foundation and have to offset with a powder.....go to sephora and ask for Make Up For Ever's HD Microperfecting Primer #4 (Caramel). It gives your skin a beautiful warm tone and is amazing for reducing or offsetting any ashy-ness....in addition to smoothing out your skin and increasing the wearing time of the foundation! that gives that same soft glow. You could use it w/o anything else cuz you do have beautiful skin, or on top of the MAC if you prefer. Great tutorial!

The finish on the HD side looks better. Perhaps if you mixed two colors of the HD foundation you would get the same glow if not better than the MAC gave. A fair comparison would have been using one color of each product. Also HD has a powder

I love the HD foundation. I cant stand to have the mac foundation on my face. When I wore the HD I couldnt even remember at times that I had it on. Great tutorial!

i think it's because the mac side color matches better to your skin tone...it's not necessary better. i think mac products cater to different skin tones more than many other lines

MUFE HD actually has more color matching options than MAC. HD caters to every possible undertone that your skin could have. If you've never checked it out, you should go to Sephora and see what I mean. I think you may be impressed.

The M.A.C. side looks much more natural...it gives you a very nice glow...you also have wonderful skin...you don't even need make-up!!

Hey wud u suggest using the HD powder over the Studio Fix foundation cuz I have oily skin so I love my Studio Fix and since u said that the HD powder minimizes the look of your pores better than the blot powder?

Thanks for this review. Its really hard to tell the difference. The mac side does look a little more natural where as the mufe looks more matte to me. I to prefer a more natural look than a matte look. To cover up your pores can you put a little of the mufe than apply the mac right on top to give the look you prefer? I may go pick of the mac they had my color NW43 at the CCO for $17.95
