  • Love the Stones but this is a substandard performance.

  • At 10 A.M. there are,Hell's Angels drunk, mulling around, they'll be drinking lot's of beer Cases, stacked 5 & 6 cases high, in rows, in the sun, no ice or coolers, You had to walk thru a gateway, they set up with the beer cases, their Bikes, you better not touch! These were some rowdy dudes, drunk, thinking that they are the stones free security so they got to let everyone know they are bad ass security. At 11:30 one punched Jefferson Airplane Lead Guitar player on stage. very neg. P.R.

  • オルタモントの悲劇の頃の"Under MY Thumb"だ、私とストーンズとの永遠のテーマ曲!~このナンバーと"ギミー・シェルター"だ~どの時期でも許す!

  • Killer version ;)

  • Are they playing it slow like that because they want to calm people down, or did they always play it this way?

  • @goatman666 I dunno, but I much prefer this version to the studio version and subsequent live versions.

  • who overdubbed audience? you should hear the bootleg

where is the full spoken part at the beginning of this on here

  • misogynistic what? If it was Shania Twain or Lady Gaga or some bird singing about pussywhupping some wimp, it would be all about girlpower and 'you go girl' and all that crap.

  • @lewars1912 who gives? it's the Stones, that's all I care about.

  • This band has some swing in its game! I prefer this over the studio version!

  • This band has some swing in it's game!

  • Hunter was actually stabbed right after the song ended. You can hear a female paniced female scream the moment it happens in this recording. Pretty spooky. This is indeed powerful stuff. There was bad mojo in the air that night.

  • You all can argue and bitch but fact is this band at this point was at its epic peak. let it bleed era mindblowing and epic.

  • I want you to rape, rob, rock, stab, shoot and pilferage. Lets bring back the good old days! Its down to me.

  • I think the little pause at 1:30 was because Mick Jagger saw the stabbing o_O. Nonetheless though this is a beautiful life version!

  • Best version!

  • wow this is from the same concert where the stones hired the hells angels as security in exchange of beer and they started stabbing all the black people lol

  • @nembaj aw no, it was just one black person, meridith hunter and the nigger brandished a fucking gun amongst a crowd of ppl, so yeah if i was one of em Angels i would take him down by all means possible

  • @DeathRider18 Theres no place in this world for people like you, or comments like that. Then, or now.

  • Enjoy the song people, give credit where credit is due....

  • What a great version, the stones just simply rock live.

  • sublime guitars under the circumstances !!!!!

this is my favourite version of U.M.T. (live)

    it groooooooves

  • @goonchistaw CERTEZA, essa versão é louca demais!!

  • @antonioclassicrock che cosa ?????????

  • by the hells , yeah and I'm close to the hells !

  • @abiggerbangcologne It's actually Altamont, not Almont. And it's definitely not in San Francisco, lol. It's in Tracy which is like 60 miles away from SF.

I dunno if you can edit the description or if you would even want to, but I just thought you might like to know.

  • @batmatt92 I'm from germany, sorry. It's a official cd "Live in the USA" there is only this information...

  • @abiggerbangcologne Ok, no worries. It's close enough, eh? All that matters is the song. :) Thanks for posting.

  • @batmatt92 I change the description! ;)

  • @goonchistaw i think its keiths solo not mick t....keiths playin lead throughout.....the solo's more his style ...like the riff during the song 1:01.....classic keeef...

  • Comment removed

  • @goonchistaw Keith played lead all the way through this song, including the solo.

  • @WadeMacKinnon cool i always thought it was M.T.

  • @goonchistaw Thats cool man, the video of this performance on "Gimme Shelter" has some bad editing. It shows both Mick T. and Keith not playing at all when the rhythm guitar starts the song.

Although "Gimme Shelter" is an amazing film, I don't like the style of editing during the performances. It's very Mick Jagger heavy, and when you do see the guitar players, the cuts are often from different songs altogether, or different parts of the song.

  • @WadeMacKinnon i understand what you are saying perfectly so it's cool.

i can vividly remember watching a video of mick t being interviewed by german tv about altamont & his memory of it , he was aware there was violence & he said keith said "take it" so i did i always thought he was talking about the solo .

it's a very jagger heavy film indeed esp @ MSG @ the start.

cheers man. hope i make sence ;)

  • @poplife123 yeah you were right & i was not ;)

  • sit down , keep cool , maybe not thought sonny & co .......

  • thanks abig.love the song,the nederlands

  • this was the stones at their all time best.....keiths playin is awesome.....they kinda had to prevent a riot.....what band could keep playin in that madness.....truly amazing time, amazing song, amazing band.....

  • best version of this song ever

  • This is a "tough as nails" rendition. I like it better than the studio version.

  • WOW! What a Jewel!!! Thank You!

  • @rubyrose456 You are welcome.

  • the guy had a gun! thats why he was stabbed!

  • @JASONCALEDONIA

Thank God the Angel knifed that mofo. Look what happened to Dimebag Darrel and others when that nutbag pulled a gun :(

  • @JASONCALEDONIA A shot at that.

  • @JASONCALEDONIA yess, but he pulled it because he was attaccked by the hells angels 'cause he was with a white girl, i suppose

  • Quite right happened during this song, the history books say so...lol, rock on

  • Most people believe that Hunter was stabbed during Sympathy for the Devil. The incident actually took place during this song, if I am not mistaken.

  • @cracks21229 yes. your quite right. totally during this song. alotta shit went down during sympathy. but this song is where he got stabbed. right at the end i believe.

  • @cracks21229 He actually bled out during this intro. The fight broke out while they were performing this song. Mick forced the band (Keith and Charlie weren't even paying attention to him at first, he had to yell at them numerous times to get their attention) to stop playing and started the song again from the top after attempting to calm the crowd.

  • @cracks21229 for many many years rock and roll history books have stated that but the movie and bootlegs show differently

  • I think this is the best version of this song I've heard. So blusy, so boozy, so dirty, so sexy.

  • @cracks21229 haha. second post same video. i agree with you on that as well. i loved this song the minute i heard it. keiths solo is nuts. if you watch the video version, which they have here on youtube. you can totally tell all the trippin hippies back in the day, their faces are melting. ha.

  • @cracks21229 actually if you get the new super version of get yer ya yas out. they have bonus cds. and theres a live version of this on one of em. and they go into their song free at the end. and id say that versions actually better. in its own way. both are excellent.

  • @cracks21229

so blusey, so dirty & sooo sexy indeed...
