  • Can someone translate what he says in the end? I think it is beautiful but I would like to understand! I think that this is the best song that Nightwish has made.

  • @Tuvoklover here's what he says in the poem: I still dream every night Of them wolves, them mustangs, those endless prairies The restless winds over mountaintops The unspoilt frontier of my kith n`kin The hallowed land of the Great Spirit I still believe In every night In every day I am like the caribou And you like the wolves that make me stronger We never owed you anything Our only debt is one life for our Mother
  • @vengeanceofeden Thank you so much! That is so beautiful and sad...

  • @Tuvoklover (cont.)

It was a good day to chant this song

    For Her

Our spirit was here long before you

    Long before us

And long will it be after your pride brings you to your end

  • Beautifully done. This brought me to tears and made me angry. I am shamed when I think of many things in history, but especially in American history because this is the nation in which I am expected to have pride. Massacres such as this remind me that "justice and equality for all" is an ideal and not the reality. We must continue to battle ignorance, xenophobia, prejudice, hatred, intolerance, and inequality if we are to become the nation honored in our most patriotic songs and rhetoric.

  • i really wish the indians ended up whooping the united states ass. and changing out history, then it wouldnt be the disgusting corrupted place that it is today.

  • I cried, really did. What has been done to these people is tragic, and even just being a resident of the US, having been born elsewhere, I can't help but wonder "what have we done?" What have we done by wiping out the culture of these people? As much as I love the US, it's things like this that make me somewhat ashamed, but that's humanity..

  • @RikkaMikkaa Agreed. Especially when all they ever asked for was to be left alone in peace.

  • My fav song from Nightwish and the movie "Into The West" is awsome

  • USA, mint a pokol kutyája vérben született!

USA, than a dog was born to the hell in blood!

  • @TahinTamas Máig azt tanítják nekik, hogy Custer hős volt.. szégyen.

  • 20 th century: Justice for Hungary!!!

  • This song really put me to tears, my great grandma was full blood Lakota Oglala Sioux and watching this video, I felt the pain and grief of my ancestors losing loved ones to Wounded Knee. The greed shown by the white govt absolutely disgusts me and makes me wish the English would have stayed in Europe and left the Native peoples alone!! We have a rich, beautiful culture which makes me feel so much pride in my heritage every morning I wake up.

  • @susanboylefan91 N.A. is a big continent so they had plenty of room to share. Sadly the settlers chose to be dicks about it.

  • @susanboylefan91 i wish i had such ancestors with such a great culture.. i really love this planet and want to protect it.. but all i can do is using solar panels.. buing faretrade clothes and trying not to waste any ressources..and of course only buying things that i really need.. but whatever i do, everything i do is making other people suffer..

  • Absolutely WONDERFUL job,I love this song by Nightwish with John Two Hawks, and loved the miniseries "Into the West." To my favs!

  • i think that it's sad at the end where it mentions that 300 lakota were murdered yet 20 medal of honors were given to soldiers.....for murdering innocent people.that part makes me both angry and sad.

  • @vengeanceofeden Soldiers and most generals fallow orders, If you read the journals most did not want to do that as it is.

  • @vengeanceofeden You are absolutely right

  • mother fuckers!

  • Very disturbing

  • This video was very well done...I cried. Thank you for this. And I love the song by Nightwish.

  • Blessed be to the sad & lost deaths of the Cherokee indians on the Trail of Tears <3

  • ah.. And something else... God bless america (In hironic way)

  • Perfect job m8.... You are a genious (no more than nightwish who've written this song :P) that you made this combo of the song and the video...

  • Seeeeriously,

Whoever put this song to the background of this video is a genius.

    Makes me want to cry...

    :P

  • very moving and very beautiful

  • From which movie is this video? I love the song!!!

  • If Tarja is an angel, Tuomas is God.

  • The indian man live harmony with nature. The white man killed the nature, killed the world. See the 20. century , what happened in the world. And present day first agressor name: USA.

    1920 Trianon: Justice for Hungary!

  • wow thats a fucked up video, but great song

  • this is one awesome song,

  • brilliantly made, fantastic!

  • Love Nightwish <3 This video and song is beautiful, hugs Carola, Sweden <3

  • no clue why the first post got smashed together, still readable.

  • I wish to know the meaning of the final words of this video

  • @FlorenciaVQ "I still dream every night Of them wolves, them mustangs, those endless prairies The restless winds over mountaintops The unspoilt frontier of my kith n'kin The hallowed land of the Great Spirit I still believe In every night In every day I am like the caribou And you like the wolves that make me stronger We never owed you anything
  • @FireAndFang Thanks a lot

  • Our only debt is one life for our Mother

It was a good day to chant this song

    For Her

Our spirit was here long before you

    Long before us

And long will it be after your pride brings you to your end "

  • @FlorenciaVQ

@FlorenciaVQ there are too many characters to be put in one comment so I suggest to visit a website where you can find lyrics of the whole song including translation of the last part. (I suggest using google). The translation can be found as well in the original Nightwish "Once" album's polygraphy.

  • Love it

  • If ONCE would have been as good as Dark chest of wonders, Creek Mary's blood and The Siren with Ghost Love Score (my fave), it would have been a masterpiece untouched by mallcore. Still love the old Nightwish. But I think they could've done better by eliminating songs like Wish I had and Angel and preserving their crisp operatic/theatrical approach to music.

  • 4 Yankees were shot by Indian arrows.

  • I love love love your video. It's perfect! How long did it take you to make?

I'm astonished, really. Keep up the good work!

  • I DO Love that song!!! <3 very awesome video :)

  • I LOVE THIS!!!! <3

  • the crusades were bad enough the continuation of crimes against humanity has been and unfortunatly always will be part of what we are. all we can do is if we see unjustices being perpetrated we do what we can to stop it, but then again isnt that why the rest of the world hates america? it what we do because we saw what we had done and have made every effort to keep it from happening again. doubt it look through modern history sejevo, rawanda (we were not active enough) and a slew of others

  • Don't hate the white race. Mourn that humanity is capable of something like this and work to prevent it from happening in our modern society.

  • 8.03 minutes of constant eargasm

  • now this is REAL MUSIC .... great lyrics, instrumental, voice everything...it's just perfect

  • i love this video... <3

  • This is the best fan made video, well made EVER !

  • @SaphirewingsOnFire I saw a rendition of this on Dr. Quinn, and trust me, I STILL cry.

  • And you wonder why people feel the need to do a Phoenix Force..... smh v__v

  • I cried, after watching this video, not because I am a pussy, but because that really happened!!! If thats humanity, what monsters are we?

  • @SaphirewingsOnFire

That was a baby shot!! >:O!!

  • @Barbe

Babies, women, children, old people, innocent, peaceloving peolple.... they had no chance!

  • @SaphirewingsOnFire if you think that was bad look at the crusades. Humans live to destroy.

  • @dalmunae But thats not okay! Doesn`t matter how many people suffered under it. I just cant imagine, how people can do that, I have even a problem with killing insects... Do they don`t have no feelings?!?

  • @SaphirewingsOnFire you would be surprised. A lot of people placed in positions of command don't see people as human beings, they see them as game pieces. its not killing to them

  • @dzzt No races? Then I guess the whole worlds medical industry is wrong. Do try why some humans from subsaharan africa have predisposition for diabetes and get obese faster? Or why multiple schlerosis primarily affects white people? The fact that races exist isn't the same thing as claiming that one race is more valueable than the other.

  • @H3r3ct1c he has a point. it is rather not race, but ethnicity of where it is some people are from rather than that of others, but it is the Human Race.

  • @OlathuralVendui Ethnicity? Hmm, may be correct in SOME places, but... humans have moved around a lot and mixed and have not done violence against each other (after all, in many american countries indians are majority). Race is still better descriptive word, though it has received a bad taste. Human race? it is species, not race. And... better listen to the music and do not try to corrupt terms

  • @H3r3ct1c

race is a fairly recent cultural construction with no biological backing whatsoever.

  • @thecodyhoosier There is biological backing, but not that it should matter socially.

  • @H3r3ct1c I take you don't own a degree in Anthropology and neither do those who "liked" your comment. There are NO races in human beings. There's no white, black, green or red. Those are obselete terms that anthropologists do not accept. There are ethnicities, which is a completely different thing. This is a cientifical fact my friend. Dark-skinned are not a different and the fact they have a predisposition for diabetes doesn't make them a different race either. Be careful with your claims.

  • There can't be a superior race in Humankind when Humankind itself is one and single RACE. It'd be a paradox claimin a light skinned person is of a superior race than a dark-skinned one. I believe you're missing the point. Study Anthropology, serious, it's a pretty interesting subject ;)

  • @ImaginaryVoncroy Actually humankind, as the name says, is one KIND, but there are several races. Just like dogs: They all are of one kind (dogs/wolves/koyotes), as they can crossbreed. However there are many different breeds (=races). And the same goes for humans. Blacks, asians, Caucasians, these ARE races in a biological sense. But I agree that superiority is hardly a matter of genetics, but mainly a matter of culture, environment and education.

  • @H3r3ct1c Many medical occurrences that appear to be exclusive to one "race" do so for environmental reasons more so then genetic reasons.

  • @H3r3ct1c Finally someone with common sense joins this infected race debate.

  • @H3r3ct1c doesnt it have to do with chromosomes? Like same Chromosome structure = no race

But if the structure is different then indeed we can use the word "race"?

  • @H3r3ct1c There's only one race, the human race.

  • @H3r3ct1c There's debate on what constitutes race in the scientific community, so some may say we're only variations on the same race and others my class different ethnicities as different races.

But fuck it, here's to the music!

  • @H3r3ct1c do you think that an african,an asian,an european or an american belong to different races?Medical problems you're talking about are just the results of mens adaptation to their own environment.WE are the HUMAN RACE!

  • @H3r3ct1c so true.. its the same with disciminating handicapped or homosexual people.. they are different put who cares? whats the problem with beeing different..

  • people there is ONLY ONE race the HUMAN RACE!!!! unless you have discovered new science to support your theory that white people and indians are not both Homo sapiens............please stop referring to each other as being from a different races!!!!!!

  • @dzzzzzzzzzt

Right, there's no Vieras, Nu Mous, or Bangaas up in here, so use "Nationality" dammit.

  • bellissimo, soprattutto l'associazione con il video

  • Los estadunidenses han cometido genocidios y no se les ha hecho pagar por eso, y se atreven a juzgar a los demás, ¿ con qué moral hacen eso ?

  • no words to describe my feeling

    too sad

    this country is built

    blood and tears of pain

    Native Indians

    and I feel so ashamed

  • @chupitoslucy You mean native Americans, Columbus only called them Indians because he didn't know any better and thought he had reached India (he thought the Earth was pear-shaped)

  • @ReyyanK actually it was because he didnt know there was a continent to the west that lay between Europe and India (which was known of) and so thought he'd reached India

  • @RuralTowner Yes, sorry it was a while ago I read about him. But history is interesting, imagine how he must have been perceived when he first came out with his the-Earth-isn't-flat ideas

  • @ReyyanK Columbus wasn't nearly the first one to reach that conclusion. Ancient greeks had fogured it out, and sailors in Medieval times knew it well from their exoerience. Actually, Columbus got it somewhat wrong and underestimated the size of the earth, which was one of the reasons why other royals did not agree to fund him.

  • After 4:00 there is no stereo in the world to small for that epic part.

I miss Tarja in Nightwish. The new singer never could please my ear how Tarja was able to.

  • NO WORDS CAN DESCRIBE THAT BUT IT IS BEAUTIFUL IN SOOOOO MANY WAYS AND IN MEANINGS

  • Very good!

  • Fantastic work with the mixing; it fits the song perfectly.

  • The Best Music Video I've Ever Seen. I had goose bumps.

    Self made? Sincere respect!

  • @playswithwolves lol i have goose bumps too everytime i watch this :P

  • One of the best songs from Nightwish!

  • I'm crying :(

  • A big thumb up for the maker of this video

    Great work lad

  • what film is this, or is this the actual music vid?

  • @rockstribute "The movie-clips are taken from the miniseries "Into The West" produced by DreamWorks Television."

  • @rockstribute its an amazing series.

  • This is just beautiful! Thank you for this video,it is just so emotional... I wonder how Americans can celebrate Thanksgiving day?I wonder how Englishmen were so cruel, and sadistic.Poor Native Americans,I feel for them... :(

  • No matter how my mod its, this is one of the most beautifull songs in the world!

  • Sometimes I feel like such an ass for being white. D:

  • @Musicluffah Well you know, no one can be blamed for what their ancestors did. You were born after all those cruel massacres took place, so there's absolutely nothing you could have done to prevent them.

It's fine, just as long as you don't repeat the same thing again today *cough* *cough* Iraq *cough* Afghanistan *cough*

  • I discovered that my 13th generation grandmother was Montauk. This tribe has virtually disappeared, and is now working to be recognized once more. I would give anything to know more of my ancestors, and to erase the terrible events which tore them from their proud existence. They were, like all Native tribes, for thousands of years keepers of many sacred things - including the once unviolated land we now call America.

  • This is very close to my heart since I am part Indian on my mother's side (Iroquois) so proud to be apart of the culture!

  • My favourite part is 4:00 - 4:50 <3

  • amazing video !!!

  • This song is absolutely beautiful. Music video is perfect with this song,

i am native american, and it's sad how everything like that happened. But this is my all time favorite song.

  • ive never heard of this particular miniseries, but it looks amazing. and i must say... very well done. came looking for this song because i used to have Nightwish's "Once" CD (somehow it vanished *twitch*) and had an idea of my own regarding another series. i can only hope to do as well as this. as to the conflict here and "what really happened" and why... dont you get it, people? its about taking responsibility, and making sure nothing like this EVER happens again- no matter who we are.

  • This is amazing, wow.

  • This was very well put together and now I am interested in watching Into The West. Great clip usage and it fits perfectly to the song!! I took Native American History and it's unbelieveable what the white man is honored for doing. After that course I looked differently at the US's History and how a lot of it is falsified to our youth.

  • 15000 years of history was erased in a few bloody years of "warfare."

  • Wish I had old Nightwish back.

  • Very powerful, thank you for sharing.

  • Can't imagine diferent vid for this song. Good job :)

  • very good job ! amazing video, and song of course :)

  • Very soon, we too will stand upon this altar where the original people who were sacrificed for the experiment of Constitutional Liberty began, against the encroachment of brand new foreign forces

  • This certainly gives the song a whole new dimension, and gives light to how horribly humans can behave towards each other if given the chance. Let us hope we've come to learn something from this and are able to give our children a better future than the past we've gone through.

  • perfect video for a perfect song , congrats!!

  • As a child i used to like cowboy movies than i watched blue soldier( or at least i think that is the name of movie about massacre of native americans) and realized so many things... i am white and i am very very sorry...

  • I'm in tears...

  • Starts slightly late :(

  • GREAT, GREAT JOB! This is the best videoclip I`ve ever seen. It makes me cry. Idont have words to to tell you how good is your video.

  • I so thrilled to see the sound back on this, I'm almost embarrassed...the last time I tried to pull it up utube had stripped the audio and that totally robbed it. This is SO BEAUTIFULLY DONE!!!!!!! There should be a secret 10 thumbs up for things like this. Now I'm off to find a way to strip the video from utube so they can never screw it up again.

  • That's just amazing video!Creek Mary's Blood suits perfectly to this movie...it should makes people wondering about Indian's history-it's for me almost unbelievable that white people were so cruel!:/ I feel sometimes real hatred for my race!

  • @meela1000 Glad you like it. Don't hate your race, contrary to the popular belief the europeans weren't the only throughout the history to massacre and colonize other people.

  • @H3r3ct1c Good call - Native tribes were making war, conquering and enslaving each other in the Western Hemisphere long before the whites showed up. It does not excuse what many whites did, but it's important to understand that this kind of injustice is not just the white man's sin - it is a human problem - it has happened all throughout history and is found all over the world and in all races and cultures...

  • @TRWilley true. when the vikings came to america before columbus (vinland) they left because of the indians. the vikings got scared away. i dont remember were i read this. but the vikings did say they were the most savage enemy they ever came across.

  • @TRWilley what can we say... we are the only species in the world that can distinguish evil from good, and we still choose evil in many times... maybe we are naturally evil...

  • @H3r3ct1c Also, White people once had the same respect and care for nature as the Native Americans. In fact, if you look at Pre-Christian Europe our ancestors once lived much like the natives. As soon as we remove the sacredness of earth from our beliefs, we have nothing to hold us back from destroying our precious planet. Im not saying hate Christianity, I'm merely asking people to realize that our earth IS important. Take a lesson from your pagan ancestors and the native americans.

  • I completly agree with you I'm a native american and It gets on my nerves when people only talk about all the bad things the europen people did. @H3r3ct1c

  • @H3r3ct1c we didnt do that w/o a reason. they attacked us first and they didnt want us here. you remember the theme behind thanksgiving ? ??

  • @meela1000 But remember, that many indians were also very cruel in warfare and had stupid warrior cultures. Not to justify the massacres etc. but it was not black vs white, but gray vs gray.

  • @tvpnbb Of course all people-no matter which race-were cruel many times in the past...I just feel pity for all those people who have not done anything wrong and were just killed or lost everything they loved.

  • @meela1000 H3r3ct1c is right. Although there were fases in European history when competition between nations lead to a very aggressive process of conquest and colonize territories, white people (as I am too) weren´t the only ones that conquered, colonized and massacred. The history, unfortunately, is a long chain of such athrocities. Important is that we evolve, admit our ancesters mistakes and not allow to be repeated again, by nobody. The only way to repair smething...

  • @meela1000 I understand that feeling, I used to feel ashamed of my European roots when faced with what they did to Native populations all over the world under the banner of colonialism. But it does no good to sink into self-hate; the best thing to do is to remember the wrongs of the past and work hard in the present to make sure the future is better.

  • @darkangelscruffy thats not true. your buying into a lie. we were not bad people we were moral god fearing people. they attacked us first. and we took care of it. come back to this video and read what i told the other person at the top. do your real reasearch. you are believing a popular LIE.

  • @liberalsAREbigZEROS Europe has a glorious, blood-soaked history of colonialism and genocide of non-Christians and brown people. Anyone who was not a European was a heathen savage to be dominated and used like an animal and anyone who was not Christian was a pagan or a witch to be tortured and burned at the stake. That's not 'liberal' or 'conservative', its just what happened. To take someone else's land is to attack first, even if you don't fire the first shot. The Europeans were at fault.

  • @meela1000 maybe you should acturally do some research about what we really did. and what they did to us. we DID NOT kill them just for the hell of it. we were moral god peace loving people. and the ones that we fought ATTACKED US FIRST ! they didnt want us here ! dont believe that bullshit. there are many lies about our history. from this to slavery . which was not all bad. there were positives. it was not all negative. and george washington did have slaves but he did treat them like people.

  • @meela1000 and george washington and his wife also tought the children live lessons. and under slavery , we gave the blacks christianity. and even when slavery was over if you wanted to go back to africa we sent you back ! dont believe everything the liberals want you to believe because its a lie.

you remember thanksgiving??? and what was the theme of that ?? you remember ??? us and the indians got together and had a feast and established an alliance and we shared and traded with them.

  • @liberalsAREbigZEROS Of course I know it allI didn't write that only we were evil I just wanted to show real pity for ordinary people who haven't done anything wrong and they lost everything. Not only Indians but also white people.

  • @liberalsAREbigZEROS Using Christianity to justify slavery does not make slavery acceptable, it only makes Christianity a party to evil. And of course many African Americans did not want to go back to Africa after slavery was ended; they were several generations removed from their African roots, they were not Africans anymore, they were Americans - you can't un-ring a bell, and you can't pretend centuries of violence didn't happen. I'd rethink your argument if you expect to be taken seriously.

  • @meela1000 This scene was repeated in South Africa by the British and in India again by the British. You could say that the United States learned from the best.

  • @meela1000 Uh ALL races are cruel. blacks, white, asian, ect. Blacks like to bitch about slavery for example but how do they think white people found em? That's right, other blacks sold em out. Enemy tribes or sometimes people in the same tribe would do it. Cruelty abounds people.

  • @OniDaimyo Unfortunately that's all true :(

  • @meela1000

Whites didn't start the conflict!!!! and so called native Americans speak of their ancestors killing those before them.......therefore they were were not native anyway.

  • @theshow2k8

I beg to differ....whites did start the conflict between their race and the Native Americans. When Native Americans would "go to war" with each other it was usually just a show of strength and rarely resulted in death. Mostly it was to see how many horses they could steal from one another.....sort of like a game. The Europeans (I hate using whites all the time) would get involved with one tribe over the other and make it ten times worse. They would instigate the violence into it.

  • @meela1000 That's right don't hate your own race...you are who the Creator wanted you to be and He loves His creations. If I was to hate the white in me I would be denying half my family, the other half is Native American. You are first and fore most a human being. Honor your people by taking what you have learned and teach others and walk in love. The video was very well done and thought out btw.....enjoyed it greatly! :)

  • @meela1000 While I appreciate your comment, I have to disagree somewhat. Yes, what these people did was unimaginably cruel, and yes, the atrocities by the whites far outweighs those committed by the Native Americans; but they are not blameless. I also ask that you not think of hating the white race, most of them would never think of commtting such a crime. Even back in that time, many of them wanted peace and to respect the Native American culture.

  • Phantastic video! This is just AWESOME!!! You did VERY VERY WELL!!! It´s so horrible that this is the TRUTH!!! That´s how america was built: On lies, greed and racism. So sad.... How could anyone kill unarmed and children... and for that they got the medal of honor?!?! In what sick world do we live...

  • Wow, that's a ton of work! Purely for hobby sake?

Definitely a movie soundtrack. Looks like a perfect cinematic trailer to me! Way too perfect.

Oh, if I absolutely had to give some, the only constructive criticism I could come up with, and this is totally to taste, but sometimes it's cool to have bits of sound effects from the movie clips in the background. Like hooves, oops, never mind, you did! Lol. Well that about sums it up, 10/10.

    4:30 - 40 awesomeness.

  • Just awesome

  • Very emotional song, have loved this since the album came out. Your editing goes well with it.

  • I Love This Song *_*

nightwish ist so eine großartige band gewesen un für viele jetz auch noch...

ich liebe tarjas stimme, ihre ausstrahlung... einfach alles !!! <3

  • Nighbtwish just rule!! What an awesome band.

  • I thought it's the official music video. I saw it's a custom video after I watched it.

  • @AkumaDante12 Well, thanks alot ! : )
