Honestly, the Gravity Gun reigns superior. But the Grenade Launcher comes close. It's a tool that provides explosive firepower to a typical footsoldier, making uneven fights a bit more even & getting you out of tight spots.

Battlefield: Bad Company's probably the game that gave it the best use, because DICE gave it far more purpose than just a lethal weapon (which in the 2nd game it is, but the first one had very poor hit points), but also giving you a tool to destroy cover & level buildings.

from my experience from the first one a direct hit with the nade launcher is an instant kill it's just not a very common event

In my personal experience, hitting someone with full health status directly with a Grenade Launcher didn't even kill them (it does serious harm though), and splash damage wasn't a big one either. But of course, one carried 8 instead of Battlefield's old 5, and after Modern Warfare, DICE didn't want their tool of strategic destruction to become a weapon that ruined any balance of the weaponry.

However in BFBC2, the grenade launcher's deadliness is equal to that of Modern Warfare (though splash damage has less kill range, but high damage range).

And since you only have 2, and an ammo resupply, it's still a very good tool of destruction (I've demolished houses using it. It's so fun, and effective in the Rush Gametype), without a quick supply to fuel unfair exploitation of the weapon.

There is nothing in MW2 that is called "noob toob" in the first place <_< I doubt I have to explain it to you but it a general term that describes several guns (AT4-HS,Thumper,RPG and even Jav to a extent) and the attachment.

The term noob tube came about in CoD4 where the attachment was the only launcher in the game. But ultimately the term was reffering on general launcher and not the specific attachment. With MW2 with a array of launchers they all can be considered "noob tubes"
