  • WOW, that one Husky is all about "GETTING HER DONE" never owned or ran one but that one is fast. I have been cutting fire wood for a little over 20 years and never owned chaps. The only hardhat I have is used on my Job as a barge tankerman (company policy) SAFETY? SCREW IT!! ya'll know how to cut wood.

  • My question is how did America breed this crop of chicken-shit whinners always looking to regulate the work of real men? Let them get on me with this anal safety crap to my face and they will be in an unsafe environment in a hurry.

  • nice

  • i got seasick looking at the video -

  • Why does everyone get all pussied out when they see someone working "unsafe" If you want to be Mr super safety, go right ahead. These guys look like they can process firewood in their sleep. Looks like THEY know what keeps THEM safe. Mind your own fucking safety and watch how an anti-itchy pussy gets it done!

  • FASTER-----FASTER !!!!!!!!

  • Big saw but little brains. These guys shouldn't even be allowed to look at pictures of trees until they learn safety measures with chain saws first.

  • @rbg12345able Hey bitch, all you do is go around posting comments on people's videos about how bad they are. Why don't you upload some of your own videos and show us how it's done!

  • @rbg12345able Safety Gear? Bah. Where's your sense of adventure. I do this all winter long to heat my house with carhartt coveralls, a Carhartt Jacket, boots and gloves. Don't need no hardhat or chaps or whatever. Just be sensible on how to operate a saw. The day OSHA tries to regulate how I process my firewood, is the day I tell the gov't. to suck my dick.

  • @CountVonBoco Thanks for the support. In actual application safety gear has a greater chance of making you lose your life than saving it. Try wearing all the gear that OSHA expects you to wear and then having to move fast in order to get out of the way if something were to go wrong. You may as well tie your shoe laces together and try and run the 100 yard dash. Thanks again for sticking up for some red-blooded Americans trying to get some firewood.

  • @TAYC34 Of course. All safety gear really is, is promotions of the baby-boomer generation, and the republicans trying to prevent natural selection do its job. If someone is unfit for the gene pool, natural selection removes them. And yes, I am being a bit radical, but you dont need a whole buncha crap to do one job. Statistically speaking, it takes more time to apply the safety shit, than it does the do the job. But you are welcome good sir, and keep cuttin away.

  • As I've heard it put, like a bunch of monkeys (bleep)ing a football.

And ... kinda late to be cutting for current year, eh?

  • @woodscritter I don't know what made you think we were going to burn this wood this year, but you're wrong. You are a troll. ATTENTION EVERYONE! Go to Woodscritter's profile and look at his videos! Oh wait, he has none, and therefore has no business criticizing others. Get a life man.

  • @woodscritter whats wrong with what they are doin? i cut in the winter, hell, its better than dealing with the heat and bugs in the spring summer and fall. 25 degree weather is the best temp to cut in, especially when you have an air cooled saw.

  • i have always liked cutting trees down and splitting the woods up ever since i wus 15!! this job sure keeps ya busy lol

  • Are you still alive?

    No safety gear there guys...

  • @gulsixten who gives a fuck

  • @TheArmyman187 uh...what is "people who aren't a-holes alex, I'll take armygirl's a loser w/o character for 200."

  • @gulsixten What safety gear is there to wear when you are cutting firewood? Earplugs? Well then fear not, because they are all wearing earplugs (besides the dog).

  • @TAYC34 not mean to barge in on your argument but there are chainsaw chaps, and the helmet with face shield and earmuff combo, there is also a jacket but that is really un necessary

  • You fellas have done that before

  • those are big model chainsaws are any of you professionals or do you just run big saws.

  • @MegaMoto4 If by professional you mean someone who runs a chainsaw as their main source of income, then yes, they are all professionals.

  • @TAYC34 Yes, we can all see how "professional" they are, using saw with one hand, no safety gear what so ever, sawing side by side, etc... Good luck explaning insurance company when something goes very wrong there. People like these are accidents waiting to happen.

  • Redneck party drink another beer guy's .lol

  • what kind of tree was it?. Looks like a evergreen,. I thought those would not make good firewood

  • @iluvbogs Over 99% of naturally-growing trees on the west coast are evergreen trees. They make great firewood.

  • @TAYC34 cedar makes pretty crappy firewood... poof, its gone. anyway, maple and alder are in abundance here

  • @dirtTdude I don't quite know what comment you are referring to, but I agree, Cedar is not good firewood. It burns really hot, but also very fast. It's great for kindling, but that's it. Maple and Alder make great firewood, high BTUs and long-burning. The downsides to them are that they don't split well, don't stack well, and are hard to find in the Cascades. A far as evergreens go, Western Larch has no equivalent.

  • @TAYC34 alder happens to be the easiest splitting wood there is and maple is a close second, i've never had any trouble stacking alder out of the 3 cords i stack a year.. alder and maple grow well up to about the 2500 foot level, i think the timber line stopps at 6000 or 7000 feet so i'd say they are in abundance in the cascades... but then again, i've only lived here for 40 years so you might know more about it than me. . the advantage of fir is that it will burn green

  • @dirtTdude Wow. You really want to argue. Alder grows along the coastline below 2500 feet. It can't be found in the Cascades anywhere. It is one of the least common trees found in the western USA, and it's not an easy wood to split compared to evergreens. Your friend carries a rotten piece of Cedar to your cabin in your video and says "This will make great firewood." Your response is, "awesome." I won't discredit you anymore; your videos do a good enough job at that.

  • @TAYC34 no Taylor, i don't want to argue at all, i'm just telling you that the cabin you saw in one of my videos is in the cascades, near the town of startup washington, at the 1800 foot level and there are alder everywhere, My house is near Monroe Washington (in the cascades) and im looking at alder trees out my window right now, if you doubt it i will be happy to send you pics.

  • @TAYC34 more importantly.... and i cant stress this enough, thank you for watching 'how to whittle a table' and thank you for noticing the 1/2 rotten piece of cedar that my friend brought, don't tell him, we don't need to point out that you and I have more experience, i'm sure he knows. sorry you didn't like the vid, try another one.

  • @iluvbogs that was douglus fir

  • That's what I call get-en firewood in a sweet minute !

  • the sthil sound pretty agressive... is it stock???

  • it mayy be aggrewsive but tht husky smoked its ass

  • Now that's team work! sweet. That's one mighty tree, I've never tackled one even close to that size. Don't think my 16" Echo would do it! haha

  • morons --whats the big hurry---one guy can load while one bucks

  • Who said we were in a hurry? And when some of the rounds weigh 500 lbs, one guy can't load while the other bucks. Nice attempt at acting like you know what you're talking about though.

  • 4 saws on one log ---no these guys are major morons

  • haha great!!

  • they are not very bright, that is not the way to cut trees, 10n inches from each oather..jesus..

  • Cutting that close to each other is not very smart at all!

  • @brnestrica Oh and we drive cars towards each other at 60 miles an hour and only 5 feet apart, duh...

  • @Bajaracer650 Great point! Thank you for your support.

  • nothin the like the sound of chainsaws in the winter

  • nice work guys ! reminds me of me and my father 20 odd years ago , all the very best from the uk . ps keep safe .

  • if it was my way, trees wouldnthave branches, they are a pain to clean up after u drop a tree lol

  • Dueling chainsaws... music to my ears!

  • this video gives people the idea that two hands are not necessary. i aint ever run into a faller that would cut on the same log as a another faller was cutting on the same log. your lack of warning shows a great disregard for safety, if you are a pro you would not post such a bad example of power saw use with out a safety warning.

  • I am not a pro. From age 11 to age 14 my summer job was to pack my father's bar oil, gas, and water. When I turned 15 I became a faller. When I graduated from high school I went to college and never looked back. However, I understand your point, and will post a warning.

  • they are cutting firewood in a field,

    joke...

  • i had delimbed that tree faseter then all of you together with my small chainsaw

  • if you dont mind me asking what says are they ?

  • you guys are Funny cuttin fire wood with those big Saws man you dont need a 390XP or MS660 lol

  • No one in this video has a 390XP or MS660. All our saws are old. The base of the tree is over 4 feet in diameter so it helps to have a larger saw. Also, none of us have small saws. No need for them. Besides, big saws cut through wood a lot faster! Thanks for commenting man.

  • Thats what I was thinking, I went out the other day to collect some downs trees from a land clearing. I have a 32 inch bar on my saw and thought it would have been fine...come to find out it was just crawling super slow when cutting, not to mention half of it was super twisted hemlock so I bagged it. You guys made soome fast work of that beast of a tree.

  • I felled a 4" thick maple with "Old Choppy" my Stihl Farm Boss in my yard last winter. If there was a video of it, it would have looked something like yours.

  • nice saw 's

  • 24"

  • those bars are a total overkill with those saws i probli woulda went with 22".

  • That's funny. The diameter of the tree is over 4 feet at the stump and you would use a 24" bar? Know this, you would not use anything on that tree because we would never bring you along to get firewood if all you had was a 24" bar. Putting a 24" bar on any of those saws would be overkill. They're not the saws you see for sale at Home Depot. They are professional timber-cutting saws.

  • you kno how theres two sides to a story there is also two sides two a log you little no nothing prik.

  • So you're saying you should change your bar as you get further up the tree. That makes total sense genius. You should give lessons on how to buck trees. LOL!

  • do i have to explain everything you fukin greenhorn you think you know everything because you cut firewood every now and again try working with it 5 sometimes 6days a week doing 15 hour days working in the bush you dont kno shit. you dnt get it do you, you cut one side then you get on the other side and cut watever you could'nt reach fuk you green horns are frustraitin

  • Oh yes, that's way more efficient, climbing back and forth over a log, psyche! You should watch the video again and take notes. Then you might not have to spend 5 or 6 15-hour days a week cutting firewood. You're making a fool of yourself. You better just stop typing and post your own video!

  • Nice action. Nothing like cutting on a cold day. What you using? looks like Shindaiwa, and 046/460 Stihls. I have an 026 and 046 myself.

  • i Use the Husqvarna 570 (70c) X-Torq and i have been Cutting Fire Wood For a While and in my Town thats a Normel Size Tree

  • chainsawing.. good fun

  • Nice work!

  • Nice size tree. I'v been cutting for 30 years now and have never had the chance to cut something that big. Two feet or so is the biggest we get around here.

  • what a bummer for you..

  • for real...

  • 5 big ass saws,holy shit!

  • 10 guys to do this ...LOL great video.

  • Yeah it's pretty funny. We filled 3 full sized trucks and a trailer with wood and still had to come back for another load. It was really four cutters, one videographer, and one city boy that wanted to watch! So 6 total, plus a dog.

  • HAHA...LOL @ city boy!!! TEHE. Hey do you guys use corks? (Spiked boots)

  • Yeah. We always wear corks. Without then you can take some pretty nasty falls and even end up with a chainsaw on your face!

  • Thats what I thought...funny thing is I clean roofs of all typed for a living but mainly the cedar shake roofs in the summer, I have many pairs of worn out corks so when I started collecting/cutting fire wood from the hills near by I lucked out by having them already...so nice not worrying about slipping not to mention having a little fun running climbing some trees! =)

  • For Arkstrikle, a chainsaw wont kick sideways, and if it tried to, the saw kurf groove would keep it in the log. and for r1skate, there is nothing for the nose to catch, so it is "kind of" alright that they have only one hand on it, but still just for saftey always keep 2 hands on when running a saw. I could also see that the husqvarnas were smoking the stihls. No suprise there

  • r1skate you worry to much. I am still learning from a group of old time cutters, but this guy is obiviously very proficent and so if he get hurt it is his falt so stop worrying about him.

  • Cutting with one hand? How is the brake supposed to work that way?

  • Often logs are so big in diameter it is impossible to have both hands on the chainsaw. And to answer your question about the chain break, it only engages when your saw kicks back. Everyone in this video is at a skill level where they are able to prevent that. Many fallers remover the chain break altogether because it is bothersome.

  • Where in this video is it impossible to have both hands on? The guy cutting the end piece at 5:39 has both hands on and that is the biggest piece possible in this log.

When the saw is in use the chain brake engages when the wrist is pronated towards the brake when the saw kicks back. This stops the chain drive (or drive sprocket), not the chain itself. This helps to prevent, or at least limit injuries to the operator.

  • Yes I know how the chain break works. From your other comment I wasn't sure if you knew how it worked, but you obviously do. Nowhere in this video is the log too big to not use both hands, but is some cases, where you are bucking a large log that is high in the air, and that you aren't on top of, you have to use one hand in order to cut the back side of the buck. In this video the guys are just taking it easy, and aren't always using both hands, which I don't recommend anyone do.

  • That is exactly my point(s).

  • Yeah, thanks for the comments man. Take care.

  • 4 cutters together and then one point cutting a block of each side on either side of the log.

    stupid dangerous.

  • I would actually give you some credibility if you even knew what the hell you were talking about. Running into guys like you are a cutter's dream. By the way, nice videos. Oh wait, you don't have any...

  • how big was that tree?

  • The stump was 4'7" I think. It is shown at the end of my other video;the one that has my father falling it.

  • Aside from the one handed cutting, which is a stupid thing to do, that was a great vid.

  • Using a chainsaw with one hand is a stupid thing to do if you are not 100% comfortable with it. Everyone in this video is a professional timber cutter, not just a few average guys cutting up a log. I should have put one of those WARNING pages up that says "The events in this video are performed by professionals. Do not attempt to try this at home." However, for most people, one-handed cutting is a stupid thing to do. Thanks for watching and commenting.

  • one word... blunt

  • what kinda saw setups you guys runnings, i see stihl and husky, but what types and what mods

  • Should Never use a Chainsaw with 1 Hand

  • Man Get some Sefety Equipment on

  • You guys are gonna kill each other. Better get some saety training.

  • Men from Cle Elum get it done

  • Far best one of the best chainsaw videos i've seen. You make it look so easy, like cutting butter. you guys are true loggers.
