the arcade version is better on mame thats what i play it on it's harder to one shot you dead and only power up is a gun and sword that comes from one hostage it doesn't go with you on the next mission...

Yes. It was originally an arcade game, but was then ported to a bunch of other consoles. Personally, I like the SMS version best seeing as that's what I played it on as a child.
