Hey how did you install the sound with the NCE DASR decoder? Was the sound from Digitrax hard wired? I just bought one of the NCE DASR decoders yesterday for one of my SD75i's. I am also looking at putting sound in it as well.
I have a Walthers GP15-1 that I bought in about 2002 decorated as UP 1649. I plan on giving it a new cab, new grilles, new truck sideframes, horn, lift rings, new exhaust stacks, cab sunshades, grinding off the nose class lights, and maybe new paint and decals, as well as weathering. Maybe then I can make it halfway presentable, lol. I'll pair it with my model of MP 2103, a GP38-2. I'll keep the GP15 as UP 1649.
*Sigh.* I don't think you understand scale model railroading. This model has a lot of features the Walthers model does not come close to. Also, some of us like to roll our own. The Walthers GP15-1 of yesteryears is terrible in comparison to the newest announcement and even the new version of it is still lacking. Walthers Trainline models rehashed into the Proto 1000 line (which used to mean something by the way) is still Walthers Trainline.
There is no way in hell I'm going to pay over $100 for a Proto 1000 GP-15, especially if it doesn't have grab irons and etched grills. The Athearn tunnel motors which are amazing don't even cost that much.
i really wish atlas had went ahead with the gp15-1, now all we get is a p1k walthers. if it doesnt have etched metal or brass see through grills, i'll wait. since life-likes demise, the only new tooling ive seen is the gp 30 high good. sure they "upgraded" details, but it was on there previous models. i wanna see something new. - i will not ever make a id on atlas forums.
