Actually Lucas has gone on record stating that in the case of a Jedi turned Sith, when he died his Force spirit would be of his Jedi self, before he turned to the dark side. Therefore- Hayden.

the only reason Hayden Christensen was added to ROTJ was because viewers are morons, and he didn't want to confuse the pre-teens who had never seen the original trilogy before Lucas started adding as much CGI extras as he could fit

The reason he put Hayden in there is because at the end before he dies, Darth Vader reverts to his good ways before he joined the dark side. So it would only be fitting that his afterlife self would resemble the way he once was. I think the idea behind this change is great, but fucking Hayden ruined the series with his shitty acting.

Anakin in his PRE SITH form is who Luke seen in the remastered version. Obiwan's ghost was old cause he died an old man, he was still a Jedi. Anakin's ghost is shown in his younger form cause that is when he was a Jedi..

@themah78 it's because in the original, he had a actor "portrayig" what anakin would have looked liked. because lucas released episode 3, which had anakin's actual actor (hayden), he thoght it would keep continuinty to put him in instead of the other guy, as vader dies.
