Thanks for your video. I was a teenager when most of these albums were new. I knew there was something wrong with them at the time. I hated the music stylistically, but also the spirit was opposed to what I knew of Jesus. I couldn't put my finger on it. In hid sight, I was probably safer listening to what I liked better, i.e., Prince, Duran Duran, The Police, etc.

I would say this is quite an old recording. I remember the attack on Christian Rock so prevalent in the 80s. Most of it, I believe, has been long discredited due to the simple fact that most of the arguments were outlandishly ridiculous. There were several evangelists who toured through the country on this same agenda. I remember two guys, the Peterson Brothers - if I am recalling correctly - who hit the circuit decrying secular and Christian rock.

i've never heard of almost all of these bands. do a little research on bands like As I Lay Dying, For Today, Disciple, August Burns Red, Brian "Head" Welch, Demon Hunter, The Devil Wears Prada, Showbread, Sleeping Giant and Underoath.
I'm pretty sure just about all of these have made a very big impact on saving people. ESPECIALLY For Today.

Thanks for your video. I was a teenager when most of these albums were new. I knew there was something wrong with them at the time. I hated the music stylistically, but also the spirit was opposed to what I knew of Jesus. I couldn't put my finger on it. In hid sight, I was probably safer listening to what I liked better, i.e., Prince, Duran Duran, The Police, etc.

I would say this is quite an old recording. I remember the attack on Christian Rock so prevalent in the 80s. Most of it, I believe, has been long discredited due to the simple fact that most of the arguments were outlandishly ridiculous. There were several evangelists who toured through the country on this same agenda. I remember two guys, the Peterson Brothers - if I am recalling correctly - who hit the circuit decrying secular and Christian rock.

ALL Rock Music stimulates the flesh and feeds the flesh. That is why those who listen to it are often overcome by sin n lust [Gal 6:8].. TRUE CHRISTIANITY is pure and holy and undefiled. It doesn't look like the world, or sound like the world. It doesn't imitate the world. True worship does not resemble a rock concert.

@martinthezman I understand what you are saying, but I think we will have to agree to disagree. My reason? I have been a better Christian BECAUSE of Christian rock music for over 30 years. Instead of listening to secular radio, I listen to Christian CDs with Christ-centered, scripture-based lyrics. You say that "true worship does not resemble a rock concert"... I've been to many Christian revival meetings where the atmosphere was more chaotic than some rock concerts. Only God knows our hearts..

I think you need to get your facts right. I know some of the bands that were mnetioned and I know they shine for Jesus. Stryper, ( I have meet the band Stryper as well) White Heart, (I have meet the memebers of Whiteheart) Petra, I have meet the members of Petra) etc. Also in the video the speaker mentioned about backmasking, try speaking into the computer and use a program that plays it backward and you will be amazed what you hear. You Rock haters only hate it because you hate loud music.

@lawrence1009 brother, i don't hate loud rock music, i used to play rock guitar brother. jimi hendrix ac/dc, the beatles, rolling stones, jsut about everything, so i don't dislike this because it's heavy, but i do dislike misleading music. and i know about backmasking, and yes i've listened to even songs i wrote, and backwards it had messages i didn't put in it. but the point is, are these bands really for christ? if it sounds, smells, looks, and acts like the world, how is it christian?

I wasn't saying you did not play Rock Music. I think there is the need to have Christian Musicians playing with Non Christian bands because that is only when they will hear about Christ. Plus also most of the information that we put forth in the video clip about these bands music was taken out of context. Like just playing chorus of Strypers song To Hell With The Devil. You see that song is about wanting to turn away from thr Devil and turn to God. It is also about how Satan was a lyer.

One bone I have to pick with the preachers who preach against Christian rock is that they use metal bands and the more outlandish realm of CCM as their examples, and then say that ALL contemporary Christian music is bad, based on those examples. I prefer to analyze singers/bands individually, instead of dismissing an entire genre. I would like to hear this man file a valid complaint against Rich Mullins' music, for example.

You Can't group ALL these Christian rock bands into the same stereo type. Was there Blue Grass Christian music 2000 years ago? Was there any Country Gospel 2000 years ago? or the Ochestral Hymnal music 2000 years ago? Why dont you say if it aint the music style of Jesus' day than it must be satanic? I was against Stryper til I got myself alone & listened to the 'To Hell With The Devil 'album with a SCEPTICAL mind. I couldnt help but feel the Holy Spirit & winess in the music. They ministered to me greatly & I couldnt help it. All due respect don't pick & choose your logic.Go straight down the line with it if you're gonna go down that road. I admit I have heard things I did not like in Christian music. But some of it turned out to be Biblical things I did not understand yet. Some of it was likely from outside influences.
I am really confused about something, I Corinthians 12:3 says:
"Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost."
So, can they really do both, what am I to think?

it seems like your definition of rock music or "rock'n'roll" is more like hardcore or metal i believe christian rock is more like casting crowns or lincoln brewster try to find something wrong with them. @Lichtspielhaus234 the bible says that God spoke in a gentle voice (1king 19:11-14 ). ok the bible never specified what kinda of jotyful noise but are we not called to be diffferent from the world? eare we not set apart for God? why then should we make the same noise as the world??? and yes God whispers to our spirirt as you said and what does music do to us? when we hear it it does not remain in our ears it goes deep inside to even our spirits and that is why music is influencial.

i've never heard of almost all of these bands. do a little research on bands like As I Lay Dying, For Today, Disciple, August Burns Red, Brian "Head" Welch, Demon Hunter, The Devil Wears Prada, Showbread, Sleeping Giant and Underoath.
I'm pretty sure just about all of these have made a very big impact on saving people. ESPECIALLY For Today.
