Actually, it turned illegal due to it being a mind altering drug, as well as the paper and tobacco industry losing sales due to the cheap production of Marijuana, it had nothing to do with fear, or black people. In fact Marijuana was a drug used mostly by white people, rich ones at that, such as our founding fathers. But the actual degree of what Marijuana does to you is debatable, but to say it does nothing bad is ignorance on your part.

Actually, no. The problem with Marijuana being legalized is the effect of Marijuana lasts longer, and it's also quicker and in less extent. Say you drink one beer (depends on who you are) you don't have an effect, take one puff even of Marijuana and you get high. It's all about effect, and how fast in quantity it takes.

@Zell1995 The effect of Marijuana does not last longer than alcohol. One beer? Ok. Most who drink, drink to get drunk. Just like most people who smoke, smoke to get high. I could take two hits of MJ, and be fine less than an hour later. I get drunk, and I need to sleep it off. Sometimes, hours later, I still feel like shit. I don't smoke anymore. Still, some of the most idiotic things I have ever done, it's been because of alcohol. MJ has beneficials, can't say that about alcohol/drugs.

Its a very revelatory thing that people of a newer generation would do drugs, despite knowing that those older to them have died from drugs. Not just that, the addicts themselves will tell anyone that drugs are nothing but detrimental to their happiness and health. Yet people do it any way. I'm sure the vast majority of people who do heroin get addicted, and those addicted probably have little chance of living many more years.
