  • @Milky111wtf suggestible? A C-cup in a two piece lying on my bed is all i need to be suggested :D

  • i want to try this on my sister.. she put one of my cd's somewhere and she swears blind that she cant remember where...

  • For mytbuster why don't non put sublimanal hipnose in this situation ?

that is, with one expert who ipnotizza

  • HE HYPNOTIZED ME AT MY SCHOOL!!! He did it differently though... he just talked. But he made other people do some really weird stuff that they didn't remember later...

  • is that even hypnosis though? Talking and doing something weird is just a way to distract your brain.

  • you mom is a way to distract the brain!

  • haha adrian if your going to insult me. Do it with creativity. Mom jokes are old.

  • your moms old!

  • and your point is that your mom isnt old? Of course my mom is old im 20 and I respect her. And you point is? I guess your point is to show me and other people how uneducated you are.

  • your moms uneducated

  • K.O.

    Adrian Wins

  • i wanna see what its like to be hypnotized!

  • btw that guy who hypntized is really real!!!! he was at my gead night last night and he was proving stuff like that and making kids of my class do some funny ass shit. but its all real

  • He came to my school's project graduation. it was pretty funny. he made my friend Will think he was pregnant xDD

  • There are a few clues that support that this wasn't caused by hypnosis

    1. The hypnotist is a stage hypnotist so he probabally knows how to stage it.

    2. They took the test the twice so the second time they would've done better because they knew what was on the test.

    3. These people seemed to know all about hypnosis because they knew what the term "sleep" meant. They probabally weren't random people. The hypotist couldn't had them stage it without anyone else knowing.

  • I was actually thinking the same thing on #2.

  • Hyponosis is actually quite simple, and it's only really validated if you use a suggestable person as your subject matter. People that are open minded and willing can be put into a dormant state of mind (simply put - it's like a meditative state - they don't have hot-thoughts entering their heads, so they stay focused) are easily hypnotized.

  • As far as accessing stored information from our memory banks goes - we are practically capable of retaining infinate memory, only, we only use a small percentage of our potential brain power. However, amoungst the short and long term memory we store, we can also use our subconsious - this is easier done in a relaxed and focused state - otherwise known as a hypnotic state.

  • @ blahyapyap

those are carry tori and grant, they're from the mythbusters team, they're a model maker a robotics expert and an engineer, they're not a stage act, and they work on mythbusters where the whole point is to be objective and prove or disprove (purely through facts while keeping an open mind and not forcing the results in anyway) certain myths and proverbs. Oh and they also love to blow shit up. So I doubt this is being staged.

  • 1. stage hypnotists dont stage cause anytime an actual hypnotist would see them they could expose them for the using stooges

    2. they dont remember the first test

    3. the subconcious of anyone fluent in the english language will respond to the sleep command, or any other word meaning "rest"

    4. dont assume something you dont understand

  • lol hypno tim agreed. Our minds respond to certain key words and 5 senses. For example your not hungry but when you hear the word food and smell it, you have a temptation to want to eat. Besides hypnosis isnt real. Its just psychology methods. Hypnosis is jsut a method of distraction through talking and making you do other things where part of your brain is entranced in doing what you do and you lack your senses of the surroundings.

  • Well understanding what hypnosis does is the key fact. Hypnosis can be best defined as modified concentration. When you limit certain brain functions and make them dormant in a trance you can be asked to bring up certain things in which you have went through. Focusing on them more heavely in a trance state allows the brain to do just that focus on that which is being sugjested or asked of you. Thus its easier to recall because of the focus. Its as simple as that.

  • dave hill kicks ass! he came to my school and made some of my classmates do some pretty weird shit...

  • problem is it isn't quite true :\ all other clinical evidence points to better memory during hypnosis (hypnotic hypermnesia) not really happening...their sample size was too small to "confirm" it, they would have been better with "plausible"

  • your right, you should put that up on the message boards on thier website, mabey they'll revisit the myth.

  • I hate it when they only use the crew members to test myths. 7 or 9 is the smallest sample size that an experiment should be based on. I believe that hypnosis allows people to focus better, but a larger sample would be nice.

  • The problem is just as much as the accessing of the unconscious boosts recall the suggestibility makes you more likely to say things that are imagined. You are simply more likely to speak not recall perfectly. Hypnosis is real and I wish they used an instant induction on the guy earlier instead of that longer induction which was more prone to failure.

  • This is interesting thx for posting!

  • the subconciouse mind is a curiouse thing for it seems to be more conciouse then your "conciouse" mind personally i wouldnt want someone i didnt know to be messing with mine lol

  • You can aid memory recall simply by relaxing, take a nap, sit down, have a cup of coffee. No hypnosis required. The bottom line is that there is no such thing as hypnosis.

  • THIS IS NOT TRUE! This is, in fact, a MYTH! Hypnosis works on everyone and everyone, with the possible exception of people with certain mental illnesses. However, some people are more "suggestible" than others, meaning that they go into trance easier. This doesn't mean they are "weak-minded," for all you know, YOU could be very suggestible!

  • Some people STILL don't think its possible. It is, and is proven. Stupid people XD

  • thanks for uploading the rest. this was such an awesome myth!

  • to all sceptics i say ha it worked

  • I'm going to kick myself in the morning for replying to a hidden comment, but I assume you don't watch this show? It's about separating fact from myth. The entire 'plot' would come apart at the seams if it was staged, as you say. And if you note the logo, it's on the Discovery Channel, one of many channels that have to do with science, i.e. biology, psychology, physics, etc. Would not a 'true skeptic' get his or her facts straight?

  • Thanks for uploading the rest! Very interesting!

  • thanks a lot for adding this to the first clip
