  • How could 4 folks POSSIBLY dislike this song? I mean, Smokey wrote it, and, the lovely Linda, sang it. What better combination could ya have!

  • This is what a remake is supposed to sound like. Smokey Robingson should be proud! Of course David Sandborn playing the sax does'nt hurt either.

  • I Love This Lady. Her Music. Her Looks. Have Her Greatest Hits CD And Play It Often. Music Like This Has Been Forgotten Or Dismissed For So Long.

  • very nice :)

  • This song has always been a fav of mine :)

I used to play it lots and lots back in the day!

  • people rave about musicians who can write their own music (not that there's a lot of them out there; most have people write for them), but it's just as impressive, if not more, when someone can do a beautiful rendition of someone else's song. i got chills listening to this.

  • This is a beautiful job by Linda Ronstadt. She has a beautiful voice. This has always been one of my favorite songs. I recorded it also. Im Brucevob on You Tube. Ooh, is one of my videos, acapella. Check it out.

  • I use to sing this song to my son when he was just a baby, he is 18 today. Happy birthday Ridgie Wonkers

  • Classic. One the greatest.

  • TIME TO GET DRUUUUUNKKK!!!..

  • Can some1 plz tell me, how do you stop the songs from stopping and starting on Youtube? It is so annoying. I have to replay it so I get to hear the whole song properly... Grrr

  • @TheChryslers You need faster internet speed. Otherwise, I don't know anything else that will help.

  • @TheChryslers get a better internet connection. if you can't do that then pause it and let it buffer like half the song or so and then play it.

  • Total babe!

  • Simple Perfection!

  • Oh Baby Baby and Linda sings it very well.

  • I just finished replying about Nazareth's "Love Hurts" being better than the original. That's why I came here. This is another remake that I think is better than the original (no offense to Smokie, because he's great!)

  • She made Smokey proud. What a great version of this song.

  • What happened to music like this? :(

  • Thats when she was looked so damn good. now she looks like Michael Moore.

  • デヴィッド・サンボーンのアルトがむせびにむせぶ!!~リンダ・ロンシュタッド"OOH BABY BABY"~これならS・ロビンソンも満足

  • Linda you say it girl

  • OMG This song is ridiculously good. If im right this was the first record I ever owned.

  • Linda sings Smokey! She hit #7 in Billboard, 1-20-79. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx! Shalom, Linda!

  • I was redirected to some Non Latina Filipina woman with a baby. Glad Im back to a Proper Latina! Linda! God Bless.

  • Its "Ooo baby baby" Shes so talented because Latin Blood runs through her veins. Latinos,Chicanos Etc...In The U.S are the most under utilized unappreciated groups of artrists in this country. She "Linda" Is A DIVA! A "Groundbreaker"

  • that pic of her is sexy!

  • Love her vocal and the arrangement but David Sanborn put it over the top for me! :-)

  • I have the vinyl lp with that picture embossed in it. Too cool. Not Smokey, but very nice.

  • S・ロビンソンの決定曲を、リンダ・ロンシュタッドが華麗に料理"OhBabyBaby"~サンボーンのアルトがむせび泣く!

  • Superb - the best female vocalist of her time. I still think I prefer a male perspective on this song, though. That's just a personal preference for this song, however, and I am fond of Todd Rundgren's interpretation as part of the medley on 'A Wizard...'

  • That's a load of BS. LR was very well established way before she teamed up with NRO.

  • Those of you thinking she's a musical genius apparently need to be reminded of the fact that Nelson Riddle (orchestrator) was the true genius behind her success. Selecting songs and arrangements that suit her (excellent) voice.

  • Damn she hot in that picture!

  • Anos atrás ouvi essa música no rádio e a achei maravilhosa. Essa cantora é maravilhosa...Afinadíssima e ótima intérprete...

  • Let’s not get into whose version is better – Linda obviously loved the song (who doesn’t) took it to heart and used all her talents (and then some) to make a great record – maybe her best. This recording stands separate, yet shoulder to shoulder, with the original.

  • @leshoc Agreed. If for example Willie Nelson and Placido Domingo recorded the same song (though God knows I don't see it happening), they would probably sound dissimilar and yet both pleasing in their own ways.

  • Close but not quite The Miracles, the reverberating harmonies just don't exist.

  • Such a total babe!

  • should be 2 choices LIKE & LOVE. I've always loved this version because of that sax. Who played it?

  • ty for posting this great song !!!!!

  • Dave Sanborn played the sax.

  • could listen to her all night.......

  • damn love this song

  • Linda sings Smokey! Billboard's #77 song of '79. Linda hit #2 AC, #7 pop, #77 soul, #85 country in Billboard. God bless!

  • hey dummy she is great but ther is only one smokey!!!!

  • Ditto x

  • chills every fukn time...and a small tear..

  • 100% better than somokey

  • Linda did a fantastic version of Smokey Robinson's classic hit!

I added this to my Love Songs playlist.

I haven't seen a live version of her singing this.

  • U mistakes 2

  • my girlfriend says this song reminds her of pornography music, lol. she said it with a smile on her face too, hahaha

  • Can you hear that sax crying?

  • @mbrown116 DAVID SANBORN!!!!!!!!

  • This never gets old for me. :)

  • Fall/winter, 1978-79, house party, dancing with my baby. need i say more?

  • Leaves even Smokey's version in the dust.

  • This is what is remarkable about Linda. She can take a classic song by a music legend and make a masterpiece out of it all her own. Her interpretation of a song and the vocal and instrumental arrangement she uses is nothing short of musical genius. Not everyone can be a songwriter, but what she did with a song took real talent. She knew a good song when she heard it and was inspired by and respected the artists whose songs she did covers of. She felt the song and it became hers.

  • @bananastewss Amen!

  • She really knocked this one out of the park, didn't she? Even better than Smokey Robinson and that's really saying something!

  • Hello.Again with your stuff.

  • Thank God! This took forever to find! Thank you so much for uploading! =D

  • This arrangement is the best I ever heard for this song.

  • She does this song perfect.
