hay i have a big Q. do mice inbreed? i need to know this becouse i am gunna get a snake and i need to get some feeder mice for breeding becouse the closest pet store to me is about 1 and a half - 2 hours away. and if so how many mice will i need to get (males and females).if you know the info i am lookin for please be a pal and share it :). thanks to all that help

Wow. There are so many people that are having problems with breeding mice!

Simple solution: Stick them in your pantry! I got like 5 of them in mine; and it wouldn't suprise me if we get More!~

@x911K1LL3Rx1 just put the male&female together and wait. if it doesnt wor after a month or two switch the partners with ew mice. usually 19-24 days. hope this helps, and good luck!

How many snakes do you have to feed. I breed my own mice and have 9 snakes. I get about 300 mice per month. And i sell the overflow to pet stores. Do you keep them in racks now.

hey ive got 2 females and 1 male i put the 2 females with the male at the same time and they have been together for about 3 weeks and 1 female just gave birth last night but the other 1 isnt even a little bit fat yet y isnt 1 of my females fat yet

@8138arron thats when you know u got a good mating pair. the prego is probibly the alfa of the two so only she gets to mate. i'll bet if u remove the prego the other one'll get pregnit. tell me how it goes, k? good luck!

Wow dude, I have 7 mice in total at my house, two are pregnant. Lol, you got lucky. also, it's very good that you have 3-4 females, all with babies together, that way they look after each other's babies.

@tony1234872 lol i once had 2 female sisters taking care of two litters at once, and babies grew up all skinny and small, one was a complete runt (it was from older litter but looked like from younger, about a week behind his nestmates)

Leave one Male with as many females you want. The Male won't eat its own babies, but if you have two Males, slight chances the two males will fight & will kill the other males babies.. My females fade out after 4-5 litters, I then cull the mums and use a first lot of females from the first pregnancy and start over again. Nice video - The Distance of the ass and pussy is shorter for females, more distance for males.

my mom had 2 tailess mice to, and 2 that had 3 legs, actually one of the ones with no tail had 3 legs, but i already feed the 3 leeged ones to a snake, but kept the tailess mouse with all his legs and am breeding him right now, im getting 15 more females soon so ill have lots of mice hahaha

@reinstadler1 they may fight for dominance. some will even hump each other. no, its not because thier gay, they just do it for dominance and the right to mate. dogs, and female dog and mice do it too...eh...dont know why petco's mice get along so well but i recremend not putting them in together. just in case.

ha my friends mouse had my boy mouses babies. I brang his daughter home because she was the only 1 who looked like him i named her EJ Earl Junior. 1 week later she had babies!! turns out her brother fucked her....... the babies died though... :'( my friend didnt separate them sooner. :'(

Alright you have the right sort of idea .

But problem is

Rats / Mice will breed with each other ( example : Brother will sex with sister ) which can cause all sorts of problems; so you will need:

1 Box for male and females

1 Box for Pregnent Females ( maybe more depending )

1 Box For Weaned Males

1 Box For Weaned Females

Weaning is when u diagnose weither a baby is a male or a female ; u dont need ot worry about territory because mice that grow together love eachother (:

Weaning Usually takes place when the baby is around 4 weeks old usually when there reproductive organs have dropped it is quiet simple to tell what they are simple because the male has a set of Very large Testiculs ( Pritty hard to miss them ) and females simply have a hole.

those black babies are gorgeous, so im guessing black is a dominant trait? i got some black mice at a wonderful reptile store in redlands. Theyre healthy and easy to hold, i highly recommend that shop. my little brown female just gave birth to babies by my black mouse, hopefully theyll be black as well. the coloring is just beautiful. Great job on your mousery! lol

Not necessarily, it's just that albino is the trait that is SO ridiculously recessive, it's highly unlikely that if you breed an albino with any other type of mouse, [even white, but with black eyes] there is is a really low chance of getting ANY albinos at all.

mice r known chewers and very dirty...rats r proven to clean themselves twice as much as cats just find a product u put iunder the bedding i font know what its called but they r small pebbles to keep the odor down

Doesn't it smell? I've used differen't things from plastic bins, to glass tanks, to actual "mice cages" and they all smell so bad. Where do you keep them? I don't know where to keep mine to lower the smell so that my whole house doesn't stink. My rats seem to have less ordor then the mice. Also I had problems with the mice chewing through the plastic bins. They chew the vent holes open. My rats havn't done it yet only my mice. Any suggestions?

I use a big tub, and melted small air holes across the sides, up the top, then drilled larger holes in the lid, I now don't smell anything and the holes are too high for them to chew.

no, pet stores already have supplyers that give them great deals. mice are beautiful animals, but they are such a hassle and breeding will give you such problems. Dont breed them just for fun, you should have a reson. And the weaniing is nothing big, just separate the boys from girls at three weeks

thanks all you do is put a hole for the part that the animal drinks from and take a piece of coat hanger or metal wire then you bend it enough to go around the water bottle then you make two more holes then you put each end of the wire in the holes and then you bend the tips of the wire enough so it dosent fall out of the hole then you put the water bottle in then the wire shold hold the bottle in place and thats it hopes this helps and good luck on your next litters =)
