I grew up in the 15th. St. and Avon Ave section of Newark. Spent early years hanging around either Avon Ave or Springfield Ave and 15th or 21st Sts. as I can recall. This was in the early 50's. Thanks for asking.

I was on S 18th St, 'round the corner from West Side Park. Springfield Av wz 'bout 6 or 8 blks one direction & S Orange Av the other.
