Joe Morgan over Frank Robinson, Ken Griffey Jr., Roberto Alamar, Erinie Banks, George Brett, etc., etc., etc., is ridiculous. I like Joe Morgan and believe that he belongs on a list of the top 50. Not the top five
Joe Morgan was an outstanding fielder at a very difficult position (2nd base). Not only that, but he was also a great hitter. And those batting stats are even more valuable, considering not a lot of 2nd basemen are good-great hitters.
I say again: Joe Morgan over Frank Robinson, Ken Griffey Jr., Ernie Banks, etc. IS RIDICULOUS!!! I also say agin; I like Joe Morgan. But c'mon. Frank Robinson and Ernie Banks are Baseball God's; Joe Morgan is not in that league. And I believe he would tell you that himself
Not really. Sandberg did hit for more average and a little more power, but Morgan had a much higher OBP and was a better baserunner. Also, Morgan did play a good portion of his career in an era that was very friendly to pitchers (around 1964-1973)
@EeVvAaNn3 Sandberg and Morgan's numbers are very similar ....except Sandberg put his numbers up in 6 less years of playing than Morgan. ...Sandberg is also considered the best fielding second basemen of all-time by most people....having won 9 straight gold glove awards.....Morgan was no slouch winning 5 over the course of his career
Ty Cobb was greater than all those guys.

The put Gehrig ahead of Mays? What are they on? Ruth was a better hitter, but no one was better all around!
