  • the conclusions are still in the air

  • Climate change and atomic warfare compared in one sentence, OMG! better than hollywood action films. Man cannot stop the sun heating, we are but ants in comparison.

  • excellent work!

  • Thanks Stan for the really cool Batteries in my Laptops over the Last 10 years!

I wish I could get some Batteries in a Zero Emission Vehicle.

What ever happened to the really cool Toyota RAV4 EV from 2002, Why can't I get that drive train in any car we buy?

As the some choose to rant in displeaure at my post. Please bear in mind the validity of H.L. Mencken's observation: "It is in the nature of the human species to reject what is true but unpleasant and to embrace what is obviously false but comforting."

  • I agree. That explains how every single one of those institutions is incorrect, because there are many there whom have spent a lifetime making a living supporting themselves studying this, and they cannot bear to admit they are wrong. The one's with the most money have the most to lose in this. The rest of us refuse to pay a tax to support their arrogant positions. We demand they do the science, and stop promulgating a myth.

It was decided long ago at the "Club of Rome" they would do this.

  • If you think scientist (as a group) are motivated by money, then you clearly don't understand the scientific mind. You have that prerogative.

The scientists I have had the pleasure of knowing are motivated largely by the desire to have a favorable impact on the human condition. - However, at this point, it doesn't surprise me that that's a motivation your are incapable of understanding.

  • Furthermore, to falsify data is the kiss of death to research scientists. They exist as a function of their credibility. It's not something they would endanger lightly. - You would do well to know more about the scientific community before projecting your aspersions upon them.

  • There's a crook on every corner. Plenty of scientists have done crooked things for crooked purposes. Your idealististic outlook on any given group of people is an exemplar of naivete

  • I'll lay awake at night worrying about something I know to be real.....hair trigger nukes that can fry us all or even hundreds of thousands at a time......and who has their fingers on these triggers. Beyond that, your religiosity and blind faith in Global warming is more boggling to me than the mormonism I was raised in.

  • With regard to laying awake worrying... - Fortunately, the US military is doing it for you. The Pentagon has funded a lot of research on AGW: because they know that its effects will have military consequences.

  • And you apparently don't understand that many people (including scientists) are motivated by things other than money. - How sad for you.

  • Boo hoo, cry me a river. I'm happy enough to keep my slightly elevated level of skepticism to get me through the day. I've seen enough highly respected people caught with their hands in the cookie jar and not only....

  • Irregardless of your "skepticism"; the fact is, if any scientist could prove that anthropogenic (man-made) global warming wasn't valid he/she would proclaimed a hero and be given more funding than he knew what to do with.

To this point, no one has been able to make the case.

  • You're presuming that the burden of proof lies with those discrediting AGW. There would be no great payday. The American people are not accepting of your "facts".

  • What would they be given funding for? It's just as absurd as the rest of these theories. 10 minutes into this video, all I hear is ideology...da da da.....I don't need to ask further where this is going.

  • They're not "my" facts. they're the facts and conclusions of some of the most renowned and prestigious organizations in the world. ...and you got?

As far as the "American people" go, they just elected a President that is fully on board with the IPCC's conclusions.

  • What I got it common sense enough not to rely on IPCC. I've already seen more than one of their flaws. It doesn't take a genius to pick up on them.

  • And you're right, I'll concede that we the sheeple did elect someone who told us and demonstrated to us where he was coming from.

  • That doesn't make the IPCC conclusions any more scientifically sound, just the potential for much much better funding.

  • Comment removed

  • I'm looking forward to reading your conclusions in the Journals.

  • With the information I am presented, I'm quite comfortable to wait it out. How about you?

  • Many scientists who work for these institutions could easily get jobs in the private sector.

I don't think you understand what it takes to become a scientist and dedicate your life to science.

You need to go to college and excel at it. Then you need to go 5-7 yr more in a PhD program where you get paid less than someone working at McDonalds and you'll be done by the time you're 28-30 yrs old.

Then you must prove yourself against the smartest people (others like u) for the rest of ur life.

  • Actually, I very much do understand, and from first hand experience.

  • It's amazing what ideological bias will do to otherwise sensible people. Here's a man who invented PV technology that has saved megawatts of energy, battery technology that's in use in hybrid cars on the road today, and more. Yet, instead of listening, people are "skeptical" and "object" because of predetermined decisions they've made about global warming. Tell us: what have you done for humanity in comparison? What have your sources accomplished that makes them more credible than Mr. Ovshinsky?

  • Well, I don't know about his electric cars when "corporate America" still hasn't yet decided to allow it's growth. Governing leaders are intent on eliminating competition as if power & money is all ruler....that's funny, huh? I definitely question his social justice & the govt. funding with the present social structuring=Communitarian Law. King Cement & King Steel stepped on Queen Hemp & she is economical & sweet on the environment as alternative. Baby electricity grew despite potential harm. $!

  • I'm skeptical of the motivations behind having the symposium. The technology is good, however, it is only solar energy (although those batteries are fantastic). I have no problems with Mr. Ovshinsky other than he IS BEING USED TO PROMOTE AN AGENDA. The agenda is for a global carbon tax when CARBON IS NOT A CONTRIBUTOR to global warming.

If you would like to be controlled, stay asleep, and continue believing solar is the best we've got. It is very low on the totem pole.

    Pay your taxes

  • Unfortunately there is a theory, written I think by Justin Ramaido, that this was exactly Bush's goal. "Bash and Break" the US dollar, it goes, until it collapses. Then issue a new currency totally under his control. He only gives this out to those he wants, thus rendering them totally beholden to him.

  • The problem is that most financial entities that hold large amounts of assets are owed money through derivative contracts. The total money owed could grow to several hundered trillion dollars. There is not enought money in existence or that can be created to cover those losses.

Yet those institutions require payment to stay solvent. I believe it could be characterized as systemic collapse. A new monetary system is needed and will arrive either on the world's terms or that of it's own.

  • Look up patent# 5139684, same thing happened. The Pharmaceuticals industry bought the rights to the patent and squashed it. The cure for all infectious disease sits unused.

This man makes a lot of sense.

  • I looked it up. You're correct. Excellent.

  • The threat to national security is allowing the technology to be implemented, because oil would no longer be needed, and since most oil is sold in dollars the dollar would plumet to the bottom of the ocean as a result. We are in Iraq, because Iraq was selling oil for Euros instead of the dollars it was under contractual obligation to accept for oil. The war is a corporate war on a country for a breach of contract. That's also the excuse to play "RISK" on the entire world.

  • I need to read up on him, but I don't understand how these battery inventions can be sitting unused. If they really work and are public knowledge, they can't be suppressed forever.

    What are the facts?

  • Usually another company buys the technology while saying they are gonig to improve it. Then it gets shelved. When that doesn't work pressure is applied to the inventor to abandon their work. When that doesn't work the inventor usually winds up with an accident that prevents them from working. Sometimes forever.

Our economy is based on oil currently. No oil = no control over those whom purchase it. If you don't need oil you are free from the system. "They" don't like that: our freedom.

  • Well this technology is public knowledge and cannot be undone. If it is that good, then suppressing it is almost becoming a threat to national security. Put in such terms, Obama may get it and do something.

The power of oil company lobbyists is overstated. If they were so powerful, the Iraq invasion would never have happened. Iran would not be embargoed. These events curtail or prevent many billions in oil and gas exploration and development. Iran especially has huge underexplored areas.

  • Obama is a puppet. Get over it.

  • That attitude solves nothing.

  • SURE DOES!!!

Pretending is what doesn't solve anything. WAKE UP!

  • Proof of your pretending and making things up in your own mind to support your beliefs. I most certainly did vote, and with an informed conscience.

You, on the other hand, are a supporter of the NWO and believe in controlling people by any means necessary. You probably even believe the Constitution of the United States of America should be abolished since it has strong language against that which you have just stated.

  • And, I wasn't complaining. I offerered the first piece of real evidence to prove he is a traitor to the people of the USA, 90% of whom did not want the bailout which has taken this country from a recession into a depression. So did many other congressmen/women, and senators.

  • Comment removed

  • But you suggested something strictly against the constitution, and the ideas are coming straight out of the Obama administration. If those truly are not your philosophies then you are repeating something that sounded good to you at the time, but you didn't really think about what it really means.

Your taste in music is much better than your common sense.

  • Ha! You're right. The "Obama traitor" idea really p* d me off. Because I believe in him. Y ou gotta believe in something or what's the point right?

  • I completely agree with you. And, I'm sorry for the button I pushed. Yes, it is better to be able to believe in something.

Today I feel better because now I also can believe in you. I believe eventually people will begin to gradually see the world in their own eyes instead of through eyes that tell them what they are seeing. The picture won't be easy to take, but if we believe in each other then we truly will "be the change" we need: together.

    Peace, and respect.

  • Thank you brother. I agree with what people need to do. I see Obama inspiring others to do what needs to be done. When Cheney was told X% didn't approve of his war, and responds with a rude "So?", moments like that make me lose hope.

  • You are never alone even when you feel you may be. Thank you for sharing.

  • Google Peter Dale Scott for groups within the elite, battling for control. Oil lobby, vs Saudi lobby, vs AIPAC, vs Wall St, vs southern money, vs evangelicals. Highly educational. Plus the best single source on JFK AND 9/11. A VERY useful man.

  • Heh. Found a podcast with him, gonna listen right now . . .

  • EXACTLY!!!!!!!

  • I'd want to like this guy but i just can't.

He patented nickel metal hydride batteries before anyone else could and the patents ended up with GM and then Chevron.

He has no credibility whatsoever. It is a classic example of patent abuse and he was part of the problem.

  • It's a classic example of being told that they were going to do great things with them (use them in the EV1) and then they shelve them! I LOVE Stan and Iris Ovshinsky! It's GM and Chevron that need to get off their "assets" and do something with it!

  • Stan Ovshinsky is our single best hope for the future, with an unbelievably valuable legacy. A giant. See livoilfree channel on youtube. Doug Korthof. Stan O is the little guy who got S!$@#%ed by GM, Texaco and Chevron. In that order. A man who never, never, never gave up ...

    Professional Intro starts @13.40. Stan O @ 18.44

  • There are literally hundreds of inventions that are alternatives.

  • hubristime - alternatives. ER, NO. Not developed, tested and ready to go. Otherwise forget them.

  • Actually, if everyone installed a water to "Brown's gas" converter on their car the solution could be implemented right now. So, the power plant solution does already have an existing alternative player. Doesn't work too well in a watch though, however, when powering the grid appliances can still be plugged in. It's a start.

I object heavily to the sermon on global warming, but give him credit. He may not know it's all about a global carbon tax, and nothing at all to do with real science.

  • I believe you. 12 minutes into this it is a public relations piece. To mention a problem that needs correcting, like the farcist "global warming" scam, we have a pre-hypnotized an audience waiting to hear a solution.

If this was a truly legitimate lecture the "PR" piece would have not been there (18 minutes?). Interesting that the "reaction" of the invention is the first thing actually talked about regarding the invention. I suppose the rest of this is supposed to be all "solution".

  • IF you do the reading AND this is your LAST piece of information on Ovshinsky, you should find out that -

    1. Ovshinksy's inventions are extremely valuable. To the tune of several $B a year in profits, if his 10x current production of solar panels assembly line succeeds. With a 30% net profit margin.

    2. His NiMH battery can power EVERY car and truck on the planet, has a TESTED 10 CALENDAR year life. Unlike Lithium batteries.

All owned by Chevron - heaven help us.

  • "2. His NiMH battery can power EVERY car and truck on the planet, has a TESTED 10 CALENDAR year life. Unlike Lithium batteries."

"All owned by Chevron - heaven help us. "

That is very different. I'm at 32:00, and you've given me the most information so far. Thank you. So far he has only mentioned photovoltaic cells (solar cells). I hope he mentions what you've stated since he said this wasn't going to be a lecture. I'll check out the links.

    Thanks again!

  • At 28:47 in the video I'm skeptical of the motivations of this video. He says Al Gore deserved his Nobel prize when all evidence proves the science used in his study was erroneous and sometimes outright fraudulent. The solution provided so far is nothing more than solar energy. A good solution, but emphasis is on "Manmade Global Warming" which does not exist. I suspect this is a public relations campaign for a global carbon tax to be paid directly to the world bank by everyone on the planet.

  • pt.1 ``but emphasis is on "Manmade Global Warming" which does not exist.''

Land clearing and deforestation hasn't contributed to 'global warming' in any significant way? Eg., once the Amazon was referred to as 'the lungs of the planet,' and according to an article, "Brazil admits Amazon deforestation on the rise," MSNBC Aug. 30, 2008, "The Amazon region covers about 1.6 million square miles of Brazil, nearly 60 percent of the country. About 20 percent of that land ..."

  • Did you somehow realize that forests generate alot of heat, and that removing them removes their ability to create it? Personally, I'd rather have the forests, because you are correct, they are very large lungs of the planet. So are plankton.

By the way, did you know that in 2007 the ice caps of planet earth were the largest ever in recorded history? Fact. The global "cooling" happened, because the sun cooled down.

The sun is what was causing the warming.

  • wrt: "...did you know that in 2007 the ice caps of planet earth were the largest ever in recorded history? Fact." - This is not true. Please provide your evidence for such a statement.

  • Please provide proof for your assertions.

  • Nope. Open your eyes, and do your own research. Start with a search on....

Statement on Global Warming Petition Signed by 31,478 Scientists

That should enlighten you as to your erroneous assertions about global warming. Afterwards you can exchange that "cap and trade" carbon tax that goes along with it for a sucker. Lick it, and stick it to your forehead.

  • wrt: "Nope. " - LOL - I thought as much. - LOL

By the way, the petition which you refer is called the "Oregon Petition". It was debunked years ago.

btw, these aren't my assertions. They are the claims of some of the most renowned scientific organizations on the planet.

  • 31,478 Scientists refute those statements.

  • hubristime - If you want to base your opinion on the Oregon Petition you go right ahead. - LOL

"Climate Denial Crock of the Week - The Great Petition Fraud" - ( watch?v=5P8mlF8KT6I )

  • With regard to "carbon tax", it's a mistake to confuse the validity of the AGW science with the vaibility of the varying solutions.
