@WestWash97 SECAM and PAL are different formats of TV broadcasting. SECAM was developed and used in France and a lot of Eastern Europe, while PAL was developed in Germany and used by much of Western Europe. I'd check out Wikipedia if you want to read more on it.
I know that at that time the Hungarian television is just programs, programs, programs. I see panatta93's videos and his/her videos closedowns don't have anything!
It is definately a waltz by Johann Strauss. I think the "Viennese Blood Waltz.", but don't quote me. If you go down to the library and borrow a "best of Strauss" album this music will definitely be included.
MTV-1 start at 8:00 close at 0:30 in 1986

It's a pity that only news videos are there of the old MTV, I'd be interested in what other kinds of programmes one could see...
Btw, TV1 and TV2 both are a bunch of ... nowadays (yet more interesting than idiot commercial channels) (n)

The original 1986 MTV-1 TV broadcast was in SECAM colour. However, given that the signal was received some 1,100 km away, only B/W was decoded.
FrozenDoberman 4 years ago 2
Ah I see, that explains it. Thanks

some old vhs tapes looses the higher frequencies .. color carrier, color burst and sometimes the whole sync signals
danieladamko 3 years ago
Yes indeed - especially when the TV signal is received at a distance of 1,200 miles (1,900 km).

ThaiBeyond 3 years ago 2
i was joking :)
they started to use the SECAM color system at the end of the '60s, and they switched to PAL around '95.
gmedvegy 3 years ago
1995? that's a bit late for colour transmission isn't ?
NESHero 2 years ago
They started broadcasting in color, at the end of 60s.... now m1 and m2 are avaialable in HD too at the hungarian DVB-T.
ceneterwebzemplen 2 years ago
it was 1986, and the signal was received in Holland using a different kind of antenna and frequency, which explains why there was no colour.
