i'm a long term Ace Combat fan, been playing since Air Combat (first Ace Combat) on PS1 all the way through...even played the PSP versions and everything, every single Ace Combat game i've played...but when i played this....i felt something inside me die...

i must say im highly extremely disappointed with the turn Ace Combat has taken, The Ace Combat series on Ps2 was the best, all you had to do was get close enough get a lock on n shoot, now you got all this extra close up less manueverability piece of shit. disappointment.

@bLaCkxDoTxKiLLa each time a game series changes everyone thinks that the past look was better, the game aspect has changed, so what. in lets say 2-3 years people will think that assault horizon is better. It is always the same. something changes in a series and everyone hates the change.

dont buy this game if you liked the previous ace combats, its nothing like them, its cartoonish, hard to control, radar dont work properly, and targets are impossible to see. namco screwed up ace combat. you should go to the beach and wait for a tsunami

the oil in jet aircraft is synthetic and clear. not black as depicted. also flying through debris would FOD up the engines so bad that they would both flameout/seize immediately. last, this type of dogfighting is completely unrealistic and impossible...will i still buy and enjoy this game? yup.

@CJFrasher The F-22 raptor is a defensive Anti-material jet, flying through debris is safe with this jet because the engine shaft has an aluminum cover regardless of the original color of the jet fuel the engine burning it would cause it to blacken when it touches the metal alloy of the plane. The only thing that is unrealistic is the single fact that if a battle of this scale was on american soil we would have sent about 10-20 dozen air defense units to handle it.

yep hes got it set on the noob controls where the aircraft returns to the original position inherently stable. I don't know why they even show a demo in that setting because no true ace combat veteran even plays with that control setting

If u tried the beta ull see no physics behind the game, ace combat always been behind the physics of the aircraft, but y now? What I'm trying to say is the aircraft fills like the arcade u can't barrow role, when u stall it's not a stall it's a 85mph slowly coming to the ground, umm u Bounse from the ground when u run into it. I'm going to stop trollin but u try it and If u where a true ace combat player ull agree with me.

All together with all the opinions I see I think its just a game that takes patience to get used to.

@DJP1NK13 Do you know whether they'll have different difficulty modes? They usually have a set of difficulty modes that adjusts weapon loadouts too right? There should be some kind of veteran mode that make it a more "realistic" weapon count or something

@davidpr23 no, the camera just moves the zoom in on unnecessary stuff. If it automatically does that then I'll be sure to avoid this title.

@crazyjak56 Ah Ok Ok, your new system you mean: "Close Range Assault" or "Dogfight Mode". But do not worry, these zoom effects and camera are optional. In the PS3 press L1 + R1 to activate it. and the XBOX 360 with the buttons you activate LB + RB. :)

@crazyjak56 are u insane? the camera looks sick, i love the zoom in when ur firering the machine gun and i like how it gives u different angles like when it goes under the aircraft. i just hope the maps are huge because it seems hard to translate the speed of a jet in a videogame without making it feel too restricted.

@DSN107 Because I find it very annoying to have my game randomly zoom in on stuff as soon as I fire a gun. It'd be like if I were playing ghost recon 1 and as soon as I start shooting someone it automatically zooms in taking away all of my peripheral vision, and started rotating around the gun as I moved it.Well that to a lesser extent.
