Please Don't write any hate comments to this, I hive a right to my opinion. I hate the womans voice, it's annoying and she does too many tricks and tries to make herself sound better than she really is, but Michael sounds amazing as always. All in all, if it was only Michael singing this cover may have been close to the awesomeness of the origianal but because the woman sang more than Michael, it kind of sucked...
Idiots complaining about her inflection aren't worth my pitty. Seriously, stick a pencil into ur ears cuz u arent worth to listen to any sound, fucking halfwits.
are you people crazed??? This is an amazing video by two amazing artists. There is obvious sexual tension between the two of them but portrayed in a tasteful and fun way... it makes me smile everytime I watch it, and I watch it often... reminds me of Gene Kelly "American in Paris" in a way... I love the editing and the track... romantic song that make you smile.... oh wait, those went out with elvis and frank... I forgot.
Hey everyone, would love for you all to take some time out and have a look at a cover i did of frank sinatra's fly me to the moon. Im 18 and from Ireland and would deeply love feedback. thankyou :)
What a tricked-up, over-edited video, too distracting to hear a great Kern tune. I'll take the version by Frank and Basie from their first album together. And besides the cinematographer-on-speed, we've got the engineers intruding with their ridiculous gear--separate sound booths, headphones, all of the paraphernalia that's invaded the music and resulted in so much inferior jazz. Make it honest and real!
@caponsacchi I agree. Let's get rid of all modern studio tech, and while we're at it let's just go back to grunting in caves and banging on animal skins....Really Sinatra and Ella were just as 'fake' and studiofied in their way... so primeval and pure is best!!!!!.
I love MB and have seen him a few times (since his early days) but this is gorgeous and keep coming back to it. They are so good together in a very natural way. Will need to explore her music more. Is she in the UK ever?
@subway job, first saw Monheit years ago in her native Long Island, NY together with Dave Brubeck and The Coryells(dad and sons). She has probably the most beautiful voice among my top five female jazz vocalists, Kent, Krall, Monheit, Allyson and Elias
shes totally looking him up and down like all flirty and hes totally running around acting like a little kid! i love it! <3 amazing song! great video! i havent yet heard one verson of this song that i dont like! <3
@AllthatJazz62 Wait...I never said it sounded bad. I just think Buble was accommodating Monheit's key choice. Not a biggie. Duets have to do that all the time. He pulled it off.
@AllthatJazz62 Guitarist/singer, yeah. I love Porter, Kern, Van Heusen, Mercer, Rodgers, Lerner and Lowe, Harburg....all the crazy cornball stuff that is so wonderfully adaptable to jazz guitar and vocals. You?
@rickcee Yah, I LOVE to sing. I'm nothing less than obsessed with Jazz Music. I LOVE almost all the Jazz singers that were big around the 40's. I can't name them all there are way too many. And one day i hope and pray to make a profession out of my passion. But one problem can't.... afford singing lessons. Did you get singing lessons?
Send me a friend invatation so we can talk with out people seeing everything we are saying.
Trouble with this version is...there is no soul. I don't think these two have "lived life" enough to put true emotion into their singing. It's all just cuteness, smiles and winks. Buble needs to hit the bottle more often or something.
@Santi2c Positive. Google the terms "Michael Buble autotune." For some reason, his record company and management have decided to autotune Michael's voice, even though he can definitely sing without assistance. Only when we create awareness will they stop destroying the integrity of genuine music.
@philumber Autotune is one of my biggest complaints about the music industry. Even when singers are good, record companies still want that kind of metallic characteristic - and with Buble's success on the pop charts, it was unfortunately bound to happen. I can understand using autotune occasionally for weaker singers (although why not hire better singers?), but when talented people get autotuned - something is wrong.
@jimraw1 Oh, most definitely. We need to create an awareness about the current state of the music industry. Autotune is slowly killing any last bit of individuality. And when you have current jazz and classical recorded with autotune and ultra-loud hypercompression, as you have stated, something is clearly very wrong.
@philumber A perfect example of this is Glee. Lea Michelle (who is a Broadway star) has a great voice (listen to her rendition of Don't Rain on My Parade) or Amber Riley - neither needs autotune, yet both are always autotuned. I can understand using it for weaker cast members, but why automatically use it? It's as if the producers don't trust a song to sell well unless it has that heavily metalic sound. Can you imagine Tony Bennett, Bing Crosby, Aretha Franklin or Frank Sinatra acquiesing?
@DhAoZz Don't know what to tell you. Jane is on record as refusing to use autotune. Michael Buble has admitted to selling-out to the latest trend: autotune on his recordings and in concert. He recently expressed the desire for a more "organic" record (codeword for no autotune)... "I like to hear mistakes. I like to hear tempos that fluctuate. To me, it turns me on a lot more than perfection." Though I don't know if he will ever stop using Sinatra's note-for-note arrangements.
@philumber There's a difference between Jane and Michael that explains part of it. Jane has never been a huge selling artist - she's more of a jazz artist; Buble, like Harry Connick, found surprising success on the pop and adult contemporary charts, with sales of over 25 million worldwide. With success there has certainly been more pressure to use autotune I'm sure. As for Jane, she never recorded with huge album sales in mind, so there hasn't been that pressure.
I've never Heard Buble live but I've heard Jane Monheit quite a few times in Birdland,New York,....she is a Great Singer,Lovely tone and expression from her voice and she is 1st class when it comes to showing appreciation to the Musicians on stage and acknowledging them.....
What ever Turbo! He is freaking awsome!!! Plus Jane is equally talented and that only makes this video better. Granted he is no Frank or Sammy, but he is great in his own right.

this is one of my fave songs ...we need more music like this it's better then rap and half the other stuff that is spewed out by cookie cutter music companies this has a lot of soul and warmth to it
