@PurrfectShots Thou if you are part of the partnership program you are not allowed to tell anyone hoe much you earn information has leaked out. For every channel view you get $0.01 and for every 1000 views you get $10 (or $5 can't remember now) so it's not much but not everyone of those 1000 people are going to click on the add and buy the product or whatever. So it's not much reasonable. But with people like Shane that's a lot because he earns $315,000 a year but that can differ.

Why does the partnership program INSIST partners do nothing but ask for more subscribers? This program is nothing but an outlet for the deluded to seek "fame".

Shane Dawson is, unfortunetly, famous ON this site, yet he is hardly on the radar OFF the site. If you think you're going to be rich and famous from this, forget about it. For it is nearly impossible. Dawson makes hundreds of thousands of dollars from YouTube, and it is just from views and ad revenue.

@PurrfectShots If you were a partner, you are not allowed to say how much you get paid, it's in the contract or whatever they sign. It depends on a number of factors. Views, clicks on ads, subscribers and so on. Fred probably makes hundreds of thousands of dollars a year and it isn't just from YouTube, he has shirts and a second movie on the way, to name a few money making options he has.

The community doesn't actively click on ads and the money from views isn't that high if you have a 1000 people watching you. Which is way the likes of Fred and Dawson have shirts to sell and movies to promote. I hate the partnership program, but it works for some. You would need at least 10,000 people watching you to make a decent amount of money.

Guys before becoming a partner you need to show you can produce original content of reasonable quality, and not just once but over and over again. You also have to show you participate regularly on the channels. It's hard work, coming up with original content that engages your audience. There are guys out there that try so hard but never seem to just make the grade, not for the want of trying but they simply cannot get the views. But if you have a dream follow it and never give up

Youtube is supposed to give the freedom to an everage person to create content. An average person can't create music+film+voice acting at the same time. So this became an indie content community.

Imagine how many of the "big hits" at youtube would survive if they were released today? There were hundreds of videos like numa numa and became popular a few years ago, that's all gone. The hitler parody is being censored now. There are thousands of examples.
