  • What a lunatic. This guy needs to be put into a straight jacket and shipped off to the loony bin. Dude looks like someone who dressed up as a shithead on Halloween. Brutal.

  • "Erik Watts About 44,700 results, says google"

"Brock Lesnar 7,130,000 results, says google"

"Scott Steiner About 1,050,000 results, says google"

"Spike Dudley About 371,000 results, says google"

In fact, even Gillberg has more hits than you

"Gillberg About 733,000 results, says google"

Erik Watts is a liar, and apparently has no clue how to use google.

  • @Andrew5010 You didnt listen to him Erik Watts , wrestler ; almost 24 million hits , Scott Steiner not even 2 million....

  • He's looking like his dad more now.

  • hav,nt seen him since "94". He's aged a little.

  • I only know this exists because of Botchamania.

  • He needs to come to peace with the fact he wasn't particularly talented and that people hate nepotism, including me

  • he's still right on the mark he has more google hit's than sting and sting is currently tna champ huh cop that "tna rasslin"

  • I thought Erik was a decent wrestler. I never felt like I got cheated watching him wrestle. Hell, Triple H, MVP, and several others have let me down more than Erik ever did.

  • Booooooooooring

  • Shit, now I like the guy.

  • He is a smart fuck.

  • i work for my dad im cool!

    saturdaynight akbaz

    brady hicks dot com

  • Erik, you were shit, get over it.

  • Bottom Line is the guy tried cut him some slack alot of the wrestling dads wanted their sons to be big stars, he just didnt have it but respect him for tryin for many years

  • Leave Eric be, sure he didnt do much, but he did his best, i remember when he was fighting rick rude on wcw saturday night during the "bill watts era" and the kid would not quit, he learned the stf which was still new and fresh at the time thanks to masa hiro chono, some got it some dont, he didnt do anything major, and wont ever be an all time great, but i'm as hardcore a fan as anyone, he has to have had some passion for it he stuck with it for years past even in the wwf as techno team 2000

  • Hey, you have to have something because even your father couldn't put you over in the business.I know you are mad about the way fans treat you but come on let's face facts. You weren't a good wrestler, you have no mike skills, and you I can't remember one match that you were in because you weren't that memorable.Don't feel bad I probably would have stank up the place myself. Another guy that couldn't wrestle was Ric Flair's son. It was harder on him though because his dad still actively wrestled.

  • @TheMidnightBell07 My opinion on David Flair is that he didn`t have the same passion for the business his father had and still has.

  • @landrykkb Hey, I agree. It's sad though because it didn't look as though that's what he wanted to do really. I was looking forward to Brett's child or Roddy's child getting into wrestling but I don't think the kids get as excited about it as their dads

  • erik watts, noone thinks you are great, we all know you were a shitty wrestler despite any other success you may have

  • Wow, I just realized this is the same guy who was once a starting quarterback at the University of Louisville in the '90's.

  • I just couldn't believe they had Arn Anderson and Micheal Hayes both put him over when he got his push..PATHETIC!

  • so real they thought it was real

  • I think fans would of disliked him less if he was pushed as an upper midcard face as opposed to a main eventer teaming with guys like Sting. He wasn't terrible in the ring, he was just too generic as a face main eventer, plus we all knew he was Watts' son. He was a decent heel when he returned to WCW in '99 and worked several Saturday Night shows

  • He is no Greg Gagne tho

  • @NamChampskee Or David Flair! {LOL}

  • He sounds like just another a-hole, lucky enough to be born with a silver spoon in his mouth.

  • I'm glad he is doing well in life. He didn't deserve the shit he had to put up with from the fans and the critics. Glad to see a former wrestler with a college degree making money after leaving the business, instead of another "statistic".

He is dead on in this interview. About, pretty much, everything. Glad he is doing well.

  • Erik Watts came across VERY well.

  • bill watts hung his contract in the dressing room so people would know that erik had an entry level contract of something like 60,000 dollars.give this dude a break.his dad rules by trhe way.

  • He punked Rick Rude in an amateur match in the dressing room. Seems that Rude was trashing amateur wrestling, and claimed that no man could tip him over. Watts tipped him twice!!! I love that story!!!!

  • he's not so bad

  • I also am wondering why they still hound this guy...it was what it was....this guy never claimed to be the greatest wrestler....and from people I talked to that have met him, he was a very humble and nice guy to meet...I agree with FTWB also: he was NOT saying that he had more hits than anyone. He was saying that he had short career and why does anyone care? To be honest, I respect the guy for leaving the biz and doing so well for himself

  • I also am wondering why they still hound this guy...it was what it was....this guy never claimed to be the greatest..and from people I talked to that have met him, he was a very humble and nice guy to meet

  • Tekno Team 2000 was fucking underrated as shit.

They shoulda been in there with the Hardys and Edge and Christian.

  • Erik was pushed because of his dad and nothing else. He helped fuck his own father out of the company he built. Erik is a piece of crap and nothing more.

  • Had to google it. About 772,000 results (0.24 seconds)

  • Erik was a great wrestler. But he had the misfortune of getting a push in the WCW when his father was the head honcho of said promotion and was seen as not popular with the talent there at that time. But he needs to put an end to worrying what others in the business and some fans say about him. He said that he has an education and is financially secured outside of wrestling. Look at how many other wrestlers who can't say that.

  • @ZenPimps Erik Watts was damned whether he deserved his push or not in WCW because of his old man running the show.Push him and it`s because of his dad,no push and he stays on the roster as a glorified jobber, then he`s still only employed because of his father.

  • What a blowhard

  • Brock Lesnar 615,000 google hits Erik Watts 516,000. Makes a point.

  • @jre52301

doesnt matter, no excuses. eric watts was a fuckin no talent son of a famous father... who fucked up wcw in the early 90s including other promotions..trying to give eric a fuckin chance.

real wrestling fans (and there's still quite a lot left across the globe) - they hate eric. thats why he got so many hits

  • He is exactly right on his last point.

  • Eric Watts was only a booker for 3 years? Hmmm that seems like such a short time to have the reputation he has.

  • So bascially he is saying that if somebody does not know "the business" they have no right to critisize him.

That's like saying if you're not a politician, you have no right to critisize politicians.

God such a fucking spoiled brat

  • @Trance1972 eh.. not really. What he says if you shouldnt criticise at all. Being a politician is pretty much different as thats based on a democratic ideal where people are supposed to vote.

Not only did you apparently misunderstand Erik Watts, but its pretty funny how you call him names and stuff.. THATS exactly what he means: people hating and acting ridiculous despite not knowing a shit, like you do. Just sitting there assuming a bunch of bollocks and then bash.

  • @SpeakingOfWrestling

So I guess what you're saying is if I disagree with Erik (and you) I have no right to have an opinion.

  • @Trance1972 That was a bad guess. A very very bad guess.

  • Such a huge ego for such a lousy in ring performer. He's doing good, so God bless him

  • Erik Watts was a phenominal wrestler.

He sucked as a sports entertainer.

Watts (like Craig Pittman and Vladimir Koslov) could have kicked anybody's ass in the dressing room in a legit fight... he just couldn't succeed in the carny nature of worked Pro Wrestling.

And he's right about 'net critics. Just because someone learns a few inside terms, knows the wrestlers' real names and watches hours upon hours of shoot interviews does NOT make them "smart" on the business.

  • I ALWAYS SAY "OUT OF SIGHT, OUT OF MIND" HE'S NOT WORTH THE MONEY TO BUY A DVD.IF HES DOING GOOD FOR HIM.EVEN HE ADMITS HE SUCKED AS A WRESTLER.WHAT HE SHOULD HAVE DONE WAS DO LIKE VINCE DID FOR THE FIRST TEN YEARS HOLD A MIC.BUT HES NOT WORTH HEAREING ABOUT CAUSE HES NOTHING OF A WRESTLER.

  • I used to love Watt's STF.

  • This is trying to get me to buy the DVD.. wow.. 2 hrs and that is the best you come up with?

  • you really cant blame bill watts for pushing his son. angelo poffo did it, fritz von erich, eddie grahm, nick gulas, etc but the fact that he did get pushed so fast and hard really hurt him . erik might could have got over really big if he was turned heel when the fans were hating him as a face. you cant blame erik nor his father..anyone who loved hteir son would have done the same thing.

  • Wow, this guy doesn't love himself at all does he.

  • @anwarandmawson

    My thoughts exactly.

  • @anwarandmawson why shouldnt he? whats so bad about feeling good about yourself. He doesnt do it on anyone's expense so whats the problem? He just sells himself, and he does it good. As if people arent allowed to talk goodly of themselves anymore.

  • There's an old saying: You never get a second chance to make a first impression. Erik was an okay wrestler, I don't think he would've ever been a major star but, if daddy Bill hadn't tried to push him down the fans throats in WCW so soon after her started, he probably would've had a better career than he did.

  • @FerretJohn Soo true. He may have been a nice guy at the convention, bluesky8921. But at the time his daddy pushed him too fast and too hard, but worst of all like ferret said, when the fans were screaming that he sucked, he still wouldn't pull the plug. He was a horror show to watch because of the magnitude of his push with his lack of skill Nepotism happens all the time. but he also would have benefitted by being under the radar not overly exposed. And this interview sounds like sour grapes.

  • Lets face facts. This man has never been a real talent. He`s never been a head liner . If his Daddy wasn`t a promoter, does he truly believe he would have gone this far in wrestling? Of course Dave M would critize him. He was pushed to being something he never was. Once jobber, always a jobber. He was one step above David Flair...

  • @realestatefla1 Like you know. you dont have the answers to any of that. You just pretend you do. Thats your opinion and there as many of those as there are toilets. I'd say he was pretty successful. No he wasnt Hulk Hogan or Stone Cold or The Rock, but none more than one is. He still won numerous titles and awards and had a lengthy career and is in good health.

  • @SpeakingOfWrestling He was the ultimate jobber who`s Daddy was his meal ticket! Don`t tell me he was able to put it over. He had two left feet!

  • @realestatefla1 Lol you wont give up will you. Thats just the regular banter for whatever wrestler has a relative in a business.

  • @SpeakingOfWrestling I see. Like David Flair, is that it?Watts was never a mat tech. He lacked any real skills as a pro. He was never a fan favorite, nor could he do a good Shoot!

  • @realestatefla1 in your opinion that is. Still he received several titles and awards throughout his wrestling career. That makes it even more of an effort if he lacked all those things you said.

  • @SpeakingOfWrestling Let me getthis right! His constant pushes were which were controversial in that his father was WCW's booker at the time, leading to accusations of nepotism doesn`t matter? What did tekno team 2000 ever win?How bout when EW was at ECW? What did he win? Heck, i remember EW for his fights with Goldy Locks only which was the only thing he ever did correctly. Please get your facts straight!

  • @realestatefla1 Now you are finally starting to make some sense and arguing in a more substancial way.

But then... you mame yourself again ending in a very arrogant manner which makes one not wanna sympathize with you or like you one bit.

These arent any facts, you havent presented facts, this isnt even a debate ABOUT facts. IF thats what you believe you might as well go religious in the process and continue your holy quest.

What you THINK and what you (quote) "remember" isnt the truth. Jeez.

  • Erik has some valid points but boy does he have an ego and a deluded sense of self worth.

Unfortunately for him being the son of Bill Watts meant he had an automatic handicap.

  • @barbarash Good point, he will always be held back due to whom his father was. Thats always the case as soon as someone has a little bit success, people are gonna find excuses for that, to be able to consider themselves less fortunate. Poor excuses.

  • he was cool in tna cant beleive noones heard of him

  • you could not make it in the big time with out your daddy could you ha ha ha

  • what a loser..i did google him cause i dont recall ever seeing him until i read about his time in wcw and wrestling with arn....what a wannabe

  • well shit, erik. i never watched this before i had no idea you were such a celebrity!

but you no who comes away with the belt these days. guess who

  • Eric is hillarious when he's pissed, just like his dad (although his dad is more funny)

  • Wow....he makes a lot of sense here! Still a horrible wrestler but he spoke the truth.

  • He grew his hair longer. He kept it short during his '90s period in WCW. But he had a good run and was a good wrestler during his prime. I like that he continued after his dad Bill with the wrestling and had success competing with the top wrestlers in the world in the '90s. I believe that he's defending himself in this interview.

  • All I know is when Eric watts came on the screen, it was some cheesy boring wrestling. I have no problem with bosses hiring their children. But if the product ain't cool. The wrestling fans don't like it. And they don't want to see it get pushed.

  • exactly..i remember watching wcw when his dad took over and he was all of a suddedn in a program with arn anderson and i was like wtf!!

  • This guy is a douche

  • I think every wrestler has to to have something to offer or else he wouldn't be there. No, I don't like that Erik's father pushed him down our throats. I don't like that Erik went over Arn Anderson. I'm glad Erik found success outside of wrestling, but is it just me or does this guy seem a little hostile? I'm sorry but he should have expected the criticism. After all, he was a newcomer to the business & guys who have been there for yrs were asked/told to lay down for him. TBC.

  • Amateur credentials don't mean jack when you're entering pro wrestling. It's not about wins & losses. It's about give & take. It's about two guys/gals being able to draw the crowd & put on one hell of a show. Erik was a bland babyface who was obviously green. I would have respected little Erik more if he had actually earned his spot instead of having daddy dearest hand it to him.

  • Look, I'm on his side.

Fucking proof of nepotism in wrestling is Stephanie McMahon & Triple H. Triple H fucked his way to the top, Stephanie played the blue eyed Daddy's girl & so on. Shane McMahon is the only other McMahon I respect, mainly because he did actually attempt to make a name for himself (BTS work with UFC).

Only reason people didn't think much of Erik Watts is 'cause his father was too much of an asshole & rough-shod people left-right & center.

  • You know Triple H had a couple championship belts before he ever got with Steph, right?

  • Yeah. But he wouldn't have been champ, or put the belt on Sheamus had he not been "tapping the corporate panties". Point is, HHH would've been pretty big, but Steph propelled him to, shall we say, new heights.

  • indeed, Eric!

His father's connect brought him in to do

a job that he did well: to put on an

athletic performance + get an audience

    reaction...Eric Watts delivered, like him

    or not!

  • who was his partner in tekno 2000

  • Its not like he was champion of anything. he was just another worker.

  • Abit of an anus.

  • damn he's gotten old

  • tekno 2000 were great

  • A lot of people leaving comments don't seem to understand the whole 'Google' part of the interview. What he was saying was that he is such an incredibly minor footnote in wrestling history (esp. compared to guys like Sting and Randy Savage) that he doesn't understand why people to this day continue to hate on him so much. He was not saying that he had more Google hits than those other guys - exactly the opposite.

  • @ftwb Hey, I don't hate him. I do feel bad for him because when you have someone famous you are expected to be as good or better. The thing that hurts these people is Nepatism. Why do these dads always push their kids even before they know what talent they have or the realitives push their kin. It makes the other people that work hard and do well mad. Greg Gagna was cute but he didn't deserve his push. David Crocket was an ok talker but his announcing skills weren't that great. I like Curt's son

  • Yeah Erik ahhhh ur 90,000 compared to Brocks 600,000 lol i was totally blowing away lmao

  • i did the whole macho man, wrestler on google and got 619,000 hits...did the same thing erik watts, wrestler only 71,000 hits lol

  • he kind of looks like Owen

  • he used wrestling ...wrestling didnt use him .. just like ULTIMATE WARRIOR, GOLDBERG and others... used it to make money and GOT OUT ..

  • OK? anddd who doesn't do it ultimately for money? Because none of them are doing it for free.

  • this guy nepotism? No!

  • Little ability, NO charisma.

    Get a job

  • i never thought he sucked

wcw= never gave him a proper push

wwe=they gave him a shitty gimmick

tna=tried but but they shitholed him with bad matchs against raven

  • I never really hated him in WCW, he was ok. Not very good, but I've seen alot worse.

  • The thing that rubs me the wrong way about this clip is Watts, much like most people, don't get that EVERYONE is a critic in some form or another. Any time you have an opinion about something and you voice how you liked or disliked it then you are a critic.

Other than that, it sounds like it could be a fantastic interview.

  • Erick Watts and FANTASTIC do not belong in the same sentence

  • i rember him in tna and his short fued with page and raven

  • seems like a total bellend

  • Meh

  • I met Erik at NWA Legends Fest in Aug. I used to think he sucked (as a wrestler). He couldn't have been any nicer. He was a great guy and was very nice to my wife and me. We had talked for quite a while and I hope to catch up with him in the future.

  • He's cool, I spoke to him when I saw him, but I'm more familiar with his wife who used to work at the gym I belonged to.

  • he lied. the guys he mentioned have more hits on google then him.

  • Very good points about critics/haters.

  • I remember this guy fighting against Chono a couple times. And that is all.

  • Waste.

  • Christ, Tarantino = Watts

  • can't believe you are selling ric's title belt. he may owe you money but come on this is the NWA heavyweight championship of the world.

  • We're in a recession bro. Reality sucks.

  • Eric, you had a shitty career due to you been a shitty worker. Get over it.

  • YES, you are so right!
