that's only because americans consider the US to be most of the world ;) remember it's a game more played than american football or lacrosse which are the only really comparable sports (I'm counting aussie rules, union and league rugby to all be very similar so not counting the lesser played versions of those as very different sports).

And the mental aspect of the game wow you gotta physically push your body to fuckin work through pain and bull shit it's not easy when your tackleing and pushing scrums non- stop or chasing down a ball thats been kicked across the field it's work and every game you find yourself pushing your body produce, it's intense and as a college football player this game has it beat by a long shot no comparison two different games.

Hey just want to throw out there that last year i played U of A football hard intense training, hard hits, and all the ladies i could get, and coach screaming in my ear. Football became work and it started to piss me off so i hear of rugby i go play for the Uof A team and holy shit I love football a loyal fan but rugby has it beat in intensity by a long shot. the hits in football are fucking hard and painful

if u were to put the best of the nfl......against...the worlds best rugby or league players...i know for a fact..that our players would all get stretchered if not killed off the field....american football players are faster , stronger. n hit ten times harder...n have explosion contact..like youve never seen..our players are tooooooo SMALL>..n too SLOW. u dont want to take the pads off nfl players.....about 60-1 players are injured 4 lyfe in the nfl compared to our rugby...and they have pads on!!

I don't agree. The stop start nature of American football allows for breathers and recovery. Sometimes play continues 30 seconds...wow. Rugby is non stop. No fatties need apply. Rugby has appoximatly 924 injuries per 1296 games. That averages out at 1.5 players a game being injured and unable to play. Andrew Sheridan England prop is 19 stone 6'5 and has been known to bench-press 230kgs. Small? No. Check any sports injury list on google to prove my point. Although common sense is easier.

Of course they hit harder the game is built for that with padding you dont have to worry about using proper technique were as in rugby you cant run 100% speed into a tackle with no arms or wrong technique coz ur either gonna get penalized for not using ur arms in a tackle or getting seriously injured coz there is no padding in rugby.....but faster, stronger i dont know if u wuld find many sports person in the world hu is faster and stronger tha Jonah Lomu 118kg(260pounds)and ran unda 11s in 100m

I agree that rugby is a harder game, but look at a player like Chris Johnson (Titans) for speed...and he is a RB so hes gotta be strong as well...
