John's spirit is very much still in the peppers. He made them who they are today, in my opinion. His influence on the band is overlooked.

He has moved on. Why not be excited to hear something new and how the band evolved further with the great mind of josh. He is an extremely talented musician and one of johns best friends. I'd rather hear the new sound than a stale sound and a lack of good vibes from the band.
