If Andy James(Anderson) hadn't had a brain aneurism RJSS might well have become one of OZ's best-ever bands. The punters were finally starting to catch on to their Missing Link-type music.Andy's replacement Peter Newing just wasn't up to it and I guess Doug Ford had had enough and joined The Masters-pity.
The RJSS often played at a mod dance in Canterbury (in Melbourne). Very tight and they typified the Melbourne mod look.
I only saw the Missing Links once; at "Georgia" in the Nth Balwyn YMCA. They were fantastic plus an amazing amount of feedback and instrument destruction. I still have a piece of a maraca that Andy smashed. I loved their version of "Keep Your Big Mouth Shut".
Was the evolutionary sequence - Links, RJSS, Masters?
Wild About You - a track on The Saints I'm Stranded album - is a Missing Links song. The album says it is Anonymous or author unknown I think, but I once saw a Missing Links album with Keupper or Bailey's name on it at a friend's place.
Fun Fact: A group out of California called Captain Beefheart and his magic band did a great version of this classic blues stomper on the independent label A&M records. What was Herb Alpert thinkin???

@Dollybirdvintage not really the majority of of those garage bands back then were either too stoned on heroin or cocaine
back then to even notice anything epecialy women it's very doubtfull if any of them are still around or alive for that
matter

I liked this a lot from when it first came out. Listening to it now, a little like the Yardbirds.

I love the way he has fun with the low note ... checking his throat at one point. Very cool.

The singer is Andy James, now an actor & known under his real name Andy Anderson.
The singer is Doug Ford, now a jazz guitarist

Wonder who the singer was. He looks to me like the Michael Hutchence of the 60s!

its more true to Bo Diddley's original, and the vocals are better

Am I alone in wondering how there is so much Aussie/
UK/Europe/Asian(!) garage rock from the 60's on video, but ...the amount of video from
Sonics ( nil apparently)
Love (1) Remains (2) etc is pathetic!! What was
wrong in the USA???
