  • This is pure Jamiroquai!! I've always thought that.. the vocal.. can't believe Jay Kays never heard this, he must of.. its insane the similarities. Brilliant.

  • @Chriswatney Jay Kay HAS heard it, he's just too embarrassed to admit that he's made an entire career out of imitating Labi Siffre's style.

  • @ezekielthemack i think your right. wow!!!

  • I play this track nearly every day, specially when im out on the `pull'. Jazz funk, ya cant beat it. Great Rhodes playing in there too. And yeah, us Brits can funk, unusually in the north more so, not just in London.

  • this song rocks

  • This has Chas 'n' Dave as session musicians on it.

    Check em out, Gertcha!

  • This music is in Driver Parallel Lines?

  • Yep !!! Driver Parallel Lines 70's soundtrack to me is the best sound track ever !

  • Comment removed

  • Too realistic? You don't watch many movies do you.lol i loved the 70s era of the parallel lines

  • just great!

  • What's even more impressive is the fellow is British. English funk. WTF.

  • Well it should be no surprise that the "english" can funk!

If you really want to freak your expectations out, the keyboard and bass on this album are by Chas and Dave, a very well known duo in the UK. They were session musicians in the 70s and worked in several genres. You might be surprised by their chosen style for their eponymous band if you check them out on youtube!

    Recommended englishfunk track...

"Celebrate" by The Blow Monkeys, so good Curtis Mayfield did guest vox on it..

  • Actually when we are talking about drum breaks, about funk drum breaks, then they can be found from all over the world. It wasnt just a rhythm that was isolated in the US. Just look at Hungarian labels like Pepita, the drums on those records really funky.

  • I too picked it up from driver, the sound is just so smooth it's amazing, one of my fav songs for sure!

  • What albumn is this track from, please?

  • "remember my song"

  • Thank-you, my friend! ;-)

  • @Noragirlie63 Note, This track was recorded for Blue Note Records. It can be found on one of the compilation CDs ( I can't remember which at the moment ) The backing musicians are non other than Chas & Dave

  • another song by Mr Siffre I have just 'discovered' and I'm 45!!!!!

  • I found it, but where I live there aren't any of those vintage shops anywhere. Theres a Half Priced Book Store but none of those vinyls are soul, just bad rock rock and 80's techno.

  • then go e-digging

  • @Justbleazy any good funk soul and r and b has been pilfered by vinyl junkies its a shame i feel your pain

  • How can I get this as an mp3??

  • go digging...

  • @Justbleazy dirpy.comm (without the second "m")

  • @Justbleazy forget hiller, forget a dig, do it ur own way

  • @Justbleazy forget hiller and forget a dig, do it your own way

  • soul, funk..., a masterpiece.

Buscate este disco y descubre todo lo que esconde. Por cierto no te olvides de "My song", otro estilo, pero de la misma calidad.

  • great song!

  • Really funky. In the cd booklet from The Best of Labi Siffre it says:

Jay Kay says "The Vulture", "Doctor, Doctor" and "I Got The" helped him make Jamiroquai. The first time I heard this song, I thought it sounded just like Jamiroquai, music and voice.

  • Wow, rare track. I thought it was Jamiroquai the first time I heard it. Very nice.

  • Labi is God!!Loved him 4 years. love the song - thx 4 putting it on.
