This is an amazingly put together video. Different people see different thing in the song because that is how they relate to it. I see it as child abuse which results in cutting personally but i can see where others are coming from on there points. Just because you interpret a song that way, doesn't make it right. I don't think any song is about just one thing. Life's multifaceted so why cant this song be?

it's not only to stop abuse, it's about self mutilation also.. it's about getting help no matter what situation your in, it's about realizing that although it doesnt seem like it, God is there seeing you through and helping you. He is holding your hand step by step.

Well I think it is stupid for anyone to fight about what the video is or means!! my dad is in rehab, psyc, mental (however you want to put it) ward right now for being abused! Yes you can go get help for these things. I was abused as a child also. mentally, physically, and sexually. I cut myself, and much more. I'm trying to turn to God, but it can be hard cuz like the song says you don't think anyone hears you when you cry! heck most people don't listen when u tell them POINT BLANK!

I think it could go either way about being abused or emotional stuff and depression, leading to cutting...whatever way you look at it...but the song says, "little girl terrified, she'd leave her 'ROOM' if only bruises would heal" if it was being abused by someone wouldn't the song say home instead of room? but then again it does say bruises which could mean physical or not literal, just the emotion of being depressed...but it could go either way...its a great song.

@mw111221 Not necessarily. I was abused when i was little and my room is the only place i felt safe in my home. The place i could lock the door and prevent getting the crap beat out of me. A room is a safe haven...

i think you can see it two ways. it can be that shes being abused. but the bruises could also mean emotional ones that are caused by people hurting her.
