  • Lush...

  • Imagine........

  • Very beautiful man,huge talent.Congratulations David!

  • How the fuck was About Face not a Worldwide smash-hit?!?

  • Yeah !!! .. this music is made to last forever ...

  • I just live this man voice and guitar solos, I can say he is for me the best artist ever

  • Wonderful!

  • Thank you David Gilmore for making such great music.

  • Kochany David, którego nie słyszałem......

  • One of my favorite Solo songs!!!!!

  • My God, David was such a Sexy & Gorgeous man. What a talent. Rock on David.

  • @LADYLONEWOLF1 Fortunately he's not.

  • He's so pretty. And he has a pretty, pretty voice. Now he just needs to take his shirt off...

  • GENIALLLLL

  • whom ever hired David Gilmour into pink Floyd needs to be thanked a million times over !!!! I can't ever imagine where they would've been without him!!

  • @aaajen

David was asked to join by the other members during Syd Barrett's difficulties and subsequent breakdown. There was a brief moment when there were 5 members of the band. One evening, they failed to pick up Syd on the way to a show and that sealed David's place in the band.

  • what a beautiful young man he was! Today somebody commented that a man (Ashton Kutcher) needed a haircut--I said, "I grew up in the seventies--I like men with long hair !"

  • @CattailsandRoses amen to that!

  • best gilmour song ever

  • I've been listening to David's solo music and Pink Floyd for years and years and I find it's really hard to wear out. This music is very well built. It's definitely built to last. :)

  • great video. :)

  • Gilmour sure loved and respected john lennon!!!!! such a beautiful man and such an amazing voice!!!!!

  • Gilmour&waters splitting just ment we get a double dose of these two fantastic musicians still putting out great sounds.great upload thanx sirio2222.

  • Brilliant :) Dave Gilmour and Roger Walters are Pink Floyd although they have gone there SEPARATE WAY'S. There music is as good now as it was in the 70's and beyond. Both keep up the good work.

  • He is so handsome!!

  • @dawnjakeleah OH GOD, yeah, he was as hot as they come, and I'm sure he knew it too. But OTOH, he really was a sincere musician and contributor to Pink Floyd, as did all the other members. What I find handsome is that the members --Gilmour for certain, were humanitarians who invested time and money to better the lives of those at the bottom of the heap.

  • @wingseclipsed Gilmore a totally cool dude with massive talent yea he was really hot! Most of all his band had real depth!

  • I got a fucking flu in the summer and after listening to this song I feel better, a lot better it looks that the flu went off : )

  • @JustMe111094 Love that Nyquil

  • @XnovemberrisingX He is Way older now how could his looks not possibly change he was in his youth then he is a older gentlemen now there would be no way to look young again even those with plastic surgery do not look young he put a few pounds on but the point was that nobody can keep their youth it doesn't work that way and did you read the comment that my comment was addressed to someone said he let himself go and I said no ,he is not in his Twenty's any more .

  • @XnovemberrisingX He didn't LET his looks go....He just got OLDER.It happens if you live Long Enough Try it and You Too may be Amazed at the Change in You.

  • Gentlemen...I am 50 years old, I have enjoyed Floyd for longer than some of you have been alive, and from reading some of your inputs, you sound "sooo young", please give it a few more years before you pontificate to those of us who have "in your language" been around the block a few times. So let me state it plainly, Waters wrote the great lyrics, Gilmore played the great rifts. GOT IT!!!???

  • @emailtonyob I agree totally with you. I am 65 and still watching and listening to Pink Floyd.

  • roger waters id pink floyd.. david gilmour is pink floyd.. nick mason is pink floyd.. rick wright is pink floyd... i am pink floyd

  • Jeff Porcaro on drums!

  • Undoubtedly the drummer is the late fabulous Jeff Porcaro.

  • They each were pink floyd in part. While recording they were Floyd, Touring together. Ofer words, Floyd changed, it was a Floyd without Roger. I enjoyed it. But i like the Floyd between 1968 and 1983 a bit better with Roger. But alot of people do not know David played Bass on alot of the songs Credited to Roger. So it was a group effort.

  • @ltcurry Was more abstract when roger was there but come on I mean david gilmour is responsible for making some reallly gooood music.

  • all I can say is....NATO and EVERY SINGLE NATION involved with that evil entity...is committing this daily....

  • Not f***ing gorgeous, or anything...ah ha ha ha ha.....

...couldn't you just get in a time capsule and go f***ing jump on that boy?

    Sigh...just sayin'...

  • 3 people did not get it

  • This song.... EPIC!

  • Great to know that the dislike bar is very much invisible in comparison.

  • Diggin' the fretless.

  • Ear orgasm.

  • No offense intended to a musician and his feelings, but I wonder if the admiration that many people have for this man they did not know is intimately related to the feelings which propelled Mark Chapman to murder? Was it the combination of adoration, mental illness and the intensely personal songwriting of John Lennon that created a sense of betrayal felt, and acted upon? I think Chapman’s action may simply have been the 'darker' aspect of what leads other to light candles.

  • sit back in my chair ... close my eyes ... blind to these comments ... and i hear love all around me.

  • @dyedinsoul that's the effing spirit

  • 3 people slipped on the dislike button obvs

    -----------

You Are the Lord Of Kings David Gilmour

  • KING of all !!!

  • <3 David, such an emotional stirring song

  • 3 idiots are killers..

    Long Live Dave

  • Some of them standing, some were waiting in line

As if there was something that they thought they might find

Taking some strength from the feelings that always were shared

And in the background, the eyes that just stared

What was it brought you out here in the dark

Was it your only way of making your mark

Did you get rid of all the voices in your head

Do you now miss them and the things that they said

On your own admission you raised up the knife

    We Love You Dave

  • David Gilmour <3

  • With a bit of research, you will all find that this song is, in fact, written about John Lennon.

  • I have to disagree, and I could be wrong, MultiMusicvids...I think this song is about Syd Barrett...

  • I have also read that this song is a reference to the murder of John Lennon although it is never mentioned in here, nor the method in which it was accomplished. This is part of artistic license. And it doesn't diminish the power of it at all.

  • I love the way he says "threww downn the bladde"

  • I kind of doubt a song about a knife muderer is about the murder of John Lennon. Lennon was shot four times by Texas-born, born-again Christian, Mark David Chapman.

  • people say that david gilmour was not a good song writer. this song proves them wrong.

  • This song is...perfection itself. Sometimes I put it on Repeat when I'm writing.

  • 546-3, nuff said!

  • Who are the Simpleton's that feel so compelled to say that this person looks like that person etc...blah blah blah...WTF is the matter with you? Your ignorance is beyond stupid. Shut up, and get a freaking life, and half of a brain, because you are hurting my head. Dumb-asses, die already!

  • A true legend! He recently donated over £4 million pounds to the homeless charity "Shelter" Just goes to show he has a big heart and he really cares.

    Unlike all our politicians.

  • this song is about the murder of John Lennon

  • @MultiMusicvids If you knew anything about John's murder, you'd realize how incorrect that statement is.

  • @MultiMusicvids It is not. stfu with that lie.

  • @Memnoch67 look it up

  • @MultiMusicvids Johns death was by Mark David Chapman<--- with a gun This song is about a stabbing.

  • @Memnoch67 your an idiot..mk..

  • @orison319 I guess you're right, should never argue with morons.

  • @MultiMusicvids artistic license

  • Thanx God

some of my friends liked this before 1 hour ago , i was looking at the title and thought Gilmour got Killed lol

i have to take a brief look at his album

    coz this song is incredible

  • how can some1 dislike this? Gilmour rocks hard

  • Waters was the sick lyricist but Gilmour has always been the musical force behind floyd after barrett. He's so melodic, funky , heavy , Bluesy dramatic hell not enough adjectives to give him credit.

  • I always thought that this was David talking to Roger.

Roger Waters attempted MURDER of "Pink Floyd"...

David was the very best... Roger was fucked by an absolute god like guitarist who could get past the fact that Daddy died in WWII

"Turn back the page"... just listen to what who we were REALLY listening to while Roger was yoowlying away in the background!

  • @wdchefdave56 I think he was talking to my ex wife. It was, after all 'our song''.

  • @starchwrecker

I have one of those too.

She was my Kryptonite and I was hooked.

    Hope things got better.

It's hard to sleep with one eye open... just watching what she might be up to.

  • Pino kills it on this track...

  • @JumboJack44 yes and mickey feat kills on the live version

  • I have "About Face" on vinyl in storage but I haven't heard this for about twenty years. There are so many great songs that don't fit the Procrustean standards of the Rock or Alternative Rock stations. This is one of those songs.

  • what an amazing talent. He sends me into another world when he plays

  • rainn66corbin: RogerWaters was okay, but to me, he was just a distraction from DAVID GILMOUR

  • @LevitateTheKing sure ur not just high...lol

  • I love him.

  • Great song! Never heard it before. Thanks for posting.

  • Did you get rid of the voices in your head and now do you miss them and things that they said. Great!

  • rock god

  • He looks a bit like John Frusciante in that picture!

  • lol, it is so weird to check out a video of one of my long-time favorite rock-blues guitarists of all time, and see comment after comment from the girls about how hot he is. I'm not sayin I'm jealous, I'm just sayin... ok, I'm jealous dammit.

  • lol, it is so weird to check out a video of one of my very favorite rock/blues guitaists and read comment after comment from the girls of how hot he is. I'm not sayin I'm jealous, I'm just sayin,,,,ok, I'm jealous.

  • @danrenewed You must be my Doppelganger...I had the same thought...I'm just saying!!!

  • wow brilliant singer and good guitarist

  • I hate when people say "Roger Waters is Pink Floyd" or "David Gilmour is Pink Floyd" .. Each member of the band contributed greatly to the sound.. Rick Wright was amazingly talented also, you can hear it in this song... He played with David Gilmour until he died... Nick Mason was also an amazing drummer... Drums are really important when it comes to rock and roll or any music for that matter. Even Syd contributed by being a leader and getting them stared on their amazing journey.

  • they all deserve equal credit. they are all too good to be true.

  • @KarKarpants Ha, you're right... those are douchebags... it is as easy to say Mason "was" Pink Floyd, since he was the only member to have played from start to end..... Long Live the Kings!

  • @KarKarpants Thank You pink floyd isnt just one guy is the combination of all members

  • @KarKarpants ~~~ you hit it just right, Syd, Roger, Rick, David and just as important Nick, they all contributed to the everlasting legacy of Pink Floyd. some people miss the point and haggle about side issues. the rock revolution they started helped many bands become as great as they got, its like everybody shares the air, the music and nowadays the internet ! thanks for giving due credit where it belongs.

  • @KarKarpants I must say, I have over the years, lost a bit of respect for Roger Waters because of the intense ego he's got... But there is no doubt, that he and Gilmour each put in excessive amounts of work to create multiple masterpieces.

  • @spookidy After seeing roger and David together and seeing the wall in Tacoma wa, i think in his old age Roger has exorcised his Demons , He is not filled with anger anymore any truely enjoyed performing for us , It was the most amazing show i have ever seen ,David having a much more even temperment has just continued to ooze music and just gets better and better. But even in the early angry days the must have known that without all of them they could not have made the masterpieces

  • @KarKarpants thats very true dude , they are all very very talented musicians and songwriters but ' pink floyd' is bigger than all of them

  • @KarKarpants Rick Wright wasn't on this song. The Hammond is by Steve Winwood. Any other keyboards will be by Bob Ezrin or Anne Dudley or possibly David.

  • @PutItAway101 It was actually Ian Kewley that played Hammond on this album.... regardless... they are all masterminds. Good catch though.

  • @KarKarpants No it was Steve Winwood who played on this track. Why keep commenting when you don't know what you are talking about?

  • @KarKarpants

I totally Agree with you my Brother.. they Are !

  • @KarKarpants

    Wright wasn't on this recording.

  • @KarKarpants Good point. Once a band breaks up and the players go into solo careers you can break down what role each one played in the totality of the band. Look at the Beatles. Lennon was the soul, McCartney wrote "silly love songs."

  • @ukkfayooyay I agree about Lennon and McCartney---Paul wrote great music but for lyrics judging by the Wings material, blecchh. Admiral Halsey--what the hell? But then there's Yesterday and The Long and Winding Road--both timeless beauties. I wouldn't spend 5 bucks on a wings album but I did get Double Fantasy...And I am coming to appreciate all of George's work recently.. I stumbled across a song called Beware of Darkness....George was deep but not stuffy. Watch the doc by Scorcese !

  • David Gilmour is out of this world. His unmistakable signature guitar style and lyrics grasp onto you in ways that cant be explained. he really makes you feel what he was feeling at that current moment. its raw emotion, thats what makes it so real.

  • Gilmour and Floyd will rock on forever......Thanx for a good life...

  • i was 6 when darkside came out and my parents would listen to it over and over again then WYWH and animals it makes me cry remembering those times, the best man, this song came out when i was a teenager great times man

  • takes me back to a time when my life was full of adventures and listening to something for the first time and that feeling u get. floyd and solo gilmour/waters just to name a few.

  • yeah, u say that now until it's under your feet...and it happens so fast

  • Wow did he go bald.

  • haha i thought he looked like leonardo dicaprio before seeing the comment.....maybe theyre related

  • 3:30 onwards reminds me of part of echoes

  • I believe that this may be my favorite song of all time. It has it all

  • I believe that this may be my favorite song of all time. It has it all

  • RRRRRROOOOOOCCCCCKKKKKINNNNN RRROOOLLL HHHHAAALLLL OOOOFFF FFFFAAAAMMMMEEEEEE... THANK YOU FOREVER

  • bassline is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo good.

I have often, and indeed melted down ;o)

  • the man is the king of bending and warping a guitar note, noone even comes close, tho mark ford of the black crowes does an excellent job

  • one life one love david gilmour

  • Why is this song not more popular? =/

  • That beautiful silky voice. It's timeless. You don't have to like rock to like this guy. If the Beatles could have picked one more guy to be in the group, it would be this guy. Or...wait. Maybe if HE had chosen THEM!

  • Love Dave Love Roger Love em all

  • All due respect to Dave, but you people that are saying he was more of an influence than Roger have no understanding of Pink Floyd.

  • @MilanistaNosskyline

Musically, I'd say Gilmour was just as important as Waters, though lyrically and conceptually, Waters has him beat.

  • @clockworkfiction3

Musically and vocally, David has Roger beat by a mile. Most of those great Pink Floyd bass lines; including fretless? David ... not Roger.

  • @KarmicOmen

Agreed. This song right here is better musically than any Waters solo song (in my opinion), and lyrically it's really good too.

When Waters started doing most of the vocals (Animals and The Wall), the songs I happened to like the best were the one's sung or co-sung by David Gilmour, and The Final Cut is definitely lacking in Gilmour's great vocals.

  • The beginning sounds like what the guy who shot Lennon said.

  • Went to a Roger Waters concert once and got 4 front row seats at the gate. No one knew who Roger Waters was. Within 25 minutes of the concert being broadcast live on the radio the show sold out. Imaging that, I am willing to bet Gilmore cant accomplish this feat. Waters is Pink Floyd. Listen to Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking, Radio City KAOS, and Amused to Death all awesome albums you will love if you love the Wall. I only like a few songs by Gilmore I like all of Waters songs just like the Wall.

  • @sniper71267 you sir, have no ears!

  • @sniper71267 Imagine all Pink Floyld's songs without Gilmour's solo's.

Waters was definitely a good songwriter, but the solo's made them famous

  • @atmosser I dont know when I go see Waters in Concert he plays all the old tunes of Floyd and they sound very good. I mean he will play the whole albums especially the wall and dark side. If they ever come around go see them and you will see what I am talking about. I have seen them both many times in concert and I must say Waters shows are far better than Gilmore's.

  • @sniper71267 Overall, Gilmour makes Roger look (and sound) like crap.

  • I am a man. We tend not to express what we feel. This song starts with so much feeling (acoustic guitar and vocals) that one's hair is on end about it instantly. His tone and feeling are invincible. I have to admit that mother nature was very generous with him. Women tend to like him, apart from his musical talents. My wife believed me when I told her he had a been a male model in the sixties. And that it was said then he had had a affair with Brigitte Bardot, older than him. We all love him.

  • @didakelx

The Bardot thing's right. Gilmour hitchhiked to the south of France in the 60s. There Jimi Hendrix passed her over to David... : )

  • Oh my wow! Look at those lips. Sex God.

  • Dreamy, lookin at him, then he begins to sing and you go away to a place beautiful and far....he fingers the strings, his instrument his vehicle, you are lifted high and far. few people in the world have ever been able to do what he does.....

  • @lunaticnana That is exactly what he achieves most time he plays. He has the ability to connect us to him. We have to be reachable, I mean, we have to be compatible. We have to emphasize with his playing and feel it deep inside. Thanks for sharing what you feel. I am a man, and Gilmour and Floyd have helped me to be more sincere and express my feelings, my weakness.

  • Dreamy, lookin at him, then he begins to sing and you go away to a place beautiful and far....

  • Amazing song, gilmour is the best.

  • David gilmour, you were AWESOME through all the years. every signle tune of your guitar was super.

  • Nobody looks like David Gilmour. They couldn't possibly even dream of being anywhere close to his beauty. He's 64 and he's still attractive. A masterpiece of a person that's for sure.

  • His Lips

    (drool)

  • anybody else think that this song is too short?

  • @happyface4444 Me.............I think the whole album was too short. As a matter of fact, DG could play and sing forever and ever and it would be too short. i love everything he has done solo or with PF. This album has always been one of my all time faves....not a bad tune on it!

  • I'm a guy this feels awkward when girls say how gorgeous he is. Great guitar player though.

  • Kurt Cobain may have been cute (RIP) but David Gilmour was spectacularly gorgeous.

  • @IsisTiamat He still is gorgeous

  • An absolute genius singing about the death of another.

  • Leonardo DiCaprio DOES NOT look like David Gilmour ... David was waaaayyyy hotter.

  • @KarmicOmen my daughter & I have been debating that very topic...and of course I win! They do favor. A lot. However, David Gilmour IS much hotter! And he can take a person to another dimension, then give them the Grand Tour ..... never saw Leo do that!

  • @thistlesw

Well, I can name a few dimensions I'd let David take me to.

Oops ... tell me I didn't just say that out loud ;o)

  • @KarmicOmen It's okay...he can take me there too.....

  • @KarmicOmen

You did, and I second the outburst : )

  • @KarmicOmen

    They look simular

    .

  • @Letterbombkid

    They look similar?

A mountain lion and a Siberian tiger are both big cats; however, while the cougar is beautiful, the tiger is so stunningly gorgeous it takes your breath away!

  • @KarmicOmen

I do see a slight resemblance now that I saw this.

Leo looks like a baby David in some strange way.

  • @KarmicOmen

Leo does resemble David in some strange way.

    I see it!

  • @KarmicOmen Haha! True, KarmicOmen =P
