I´ve been listening to two of the three cd´s that feature David Rose in the early 70´s Lewisburg PA based band, Fred. ...folkrock/jazzrock music that remained unreleased untill 2000/Fred & 2002/Notes on a Picnic. ...there´s also a live album
@louque08 I think this is the same David Rose who was w/ the band Blue Rose? So sorry to hear that he passed away. I thought he (& the rest of the group) was French? Did he live in the US? One of my favorite songs to this day is Love You Forever. Besides being a remarkable violinist, he had a great singing voice, as well.
Sorry to hear that! I just love his work in Transit Express, Rose, etc. 'Worlds Apart' is one of my all time favourites, a true desert island disc! How can I buy his other albums?
The Blue Rose LPs still gets played in our home as well as David Rose Band CD's Dave is missed here in the Susquehanna Valley of Pennsylvania. A really nice local guy who happened to be a world class violin player. Harbortown CD from 1990 is the last thing I have. Well played love songs, David was a good singer too. On David Rose Band Records, inc. P.O. box 642 Lewisburg, Pa.17837
Im sad beyond words. My sincere thanks to louque08 for taking time to bring the news to central Illinois. My inquiry about Dave was the sole reason for having/opening this you tube account. Its incredible to realize that your Fathers art and talent motivated me to embark on a path that may very well last the rest of my life. Im no less sad revealing this.I only hope that it adds to an understanding of you dads reach around the world.
Thank you very much for your comment! The 3rd one is a part of "Nymphs Finding the Head of Orpheus" by John William Waterhouse. Yes, just a part!! That's why, I think, you didn't recognize this. You can click "More info" to the right of the video (next to the added date). Then, you will find the info for all the paintings here. I hope you enjoy them!
If anyone has more info on Dave Rose I'd like to hear it. I'm hoping that I can find more of his music from the 80's. I have an LP named "Rose- Worlds Apart" that is way up on my favorite list....all around a great obscure album.

Used to go to see the David Rose Band all over Maryland and Pennsylvania. There is nothing like David's electronic violin! It's magic.
