LOL WOW. I just moved to Kansas from Texas and...I don't get it. The poles they use in the Texas Renfest are designed to shatter upon impact, and they had a four-way joust every year..this is just sad..

I have to agree with Viking Wanna Be, as I used to be one of the Jousters of his childhood. I jousted at this fair and many others, and he is right, the quality of this show has gone right into the dump. I really hope that this is not my old team; The New Riders of the Golden Age...

No...New Riders were fired from this show because of the constant drug use and sexual harassment.

Man, are you serious?! I jousted with them between 88'and 93' and there was never anything like that in our ranks at that time. It was all hard work and good show. Now we did like to put back a few ales and flirt with the wenches, like any good Rennie, but that was more often then not recipricol. I cannot defend them too much, as we did not end our association well... but we (and they) did put on a fist class show, nothing like the crap in this video..

Additionally, I think KCRF may have made an error in judgement.. Please expand on their termination if you can. Were there any specific incidents of note?

Understand that I do not write the show, I only performed in it. I have jousted with other companies including full contact shows. The festival receives great feedback on the current troupe and that is why they keep them. As far as an incident, it was just an accumulation of things that led to New Riders demise. What I like about Kelly's show as opposed to say Knights of Valor is that they do include elements of show business rather than just hit each other with sticks.

I go to this Ren fest every year I can. I love it!!! Love the joust too.

When I was a kid the joust used to be way better then this. They would straight up hit the other guy right off his horse and split his lance into a million pieces. Still this isn't bad.
