    WW is an improvement over the SAD diet for sure. Portion control for those with little will power. But sadly, WW diet is far too high in cooked/processed foods, consumed in poor combinations. Cheeseburgers, chocolate cake, potato skins, pork, pound cake, pizza.....etc. These are not healthy foods, small portions or not. These foods are acid causing, poison the blood, and leave toxic waste residue in the body. For supreme health, fresh, ripe, raw fruits & veggies are always best.

  • do you get headaches from just starting to juice??? i never get headaches..i bought a juicer today and made a beet, carrot, apple, snap pea, and strawberry juice..it was soooo good, my kids liked it too. i felt good bout en min later then a had a dull ache in my head for bout a hour..any link? is my brain getting something it didnt get b4?...lolz yo0u soo rock..i totally dig ya man..haha. im also on face book!

  • @2003desiree I also got headaches when I started juicing, apparently it's the body detoxing. A solution that worked for me was to dilute the juice with water in the start (To lessen the initial detox), starting with 1:1 ratio in the first week, then slowly reducing the amount of water as the weeks go by. Good luck and have fun :D

  • I'm on my second day of a Raw Fruit Diet! Because of an illness and I can feel a slight difference already. I hope I can hang on this time and commit to it. It is difficult watching everyone else eat the Standard American Diet!

    The same way raw veggies give the strongest animals on the planet their fat and protein. Elephants, rhinos, horses, cattle, gorillas get 99-100% of their fat & protein from plant foods. And they don't need a nutritionist to tell them how to do it. They instinctively eat their natural diet. All the fat and protein we need are available in plant foods, in much more easily digested form.

Its was ok untill i told them about the possible stuff coming outside of me or possible sickness.... Right there they all go "Thats shit, dont do that, it will kill you bla bla bla"...

  • Ok... What i dont understand is, when i told them i have to take antidepressant because of my little girl died november 16th 2009, and all Adverse effect that comes with it these pills, they all say "well you have to go there to feel bether".

  • Aye, I see what you are trying to get at, but herein lies the problem (from Wikipedia):

    A vegetable is an edible plant or part of a plant. However, the word is not scientific, and its meaning is largely based on culinary and cultural tradition. Therefore the application of the word is somewhat arbitrary and subjective.

    Then...as for what an "Herb" is....see my next comment...

  • I am not trying to get at anything, so don't need to post more. It's what i believe. You get your beliefs from books and internet . I get them by trying and see what happens to my body.

  • I actually agree with you, as I can sense what you "mean" but the problem is that 'vegetables' essentially are more or less synonymous w/ 'herbs' in terms of the literal definitions of each. That, and there are 'fruits' which are technically 'herbs,' such as the banana. So I know what you mean, but there just isn't a clear way (that I know of) to express it in linear terms. I'm on your side here, don't worry. ;)

  • I also get my beliefs by what happens to my body...but if all along you haven't realized that carrots & bananas, etc. are actually herbs, this means you have come up with your own personal definition of what an herb is & what a vegetable is...so if you could define it for us, then we can know what you are trying to say, that's all. What is your definition of a vegetable? What is your definition of an herb? ...and then why would one want to make their own definitions of either?

    1) any plant with leaves, seeds, or flowers used for flavoring, food, medicine, or perfume

    • a part of such a plant as used in cooking

    2) Botany: any seed-bearing plant that does not have a woody stem and dies down to the ground after flowering.

    HERBACEOUS PLANT (in botanical use simply herb) (Wikipedia):

    A plant that has leaves and stems that die down at the end of the growing season to the soil level.

    Thus, carrots, parsnips, bananas & more are all herbs! ;)

  • Dan what do you think about B-12 Deficiency??? I mean I personally think that I can do without dairy but does that mean I will be deficient??? Look at you man... you seem to be very healthy without it but at the same time I have read about vegan people who are heavily deficient in B-12!!! Please explain

  • How do you get enough calories to work out on the raw diet? Just eat a lot more? I'm really skinny and am afraid I'll weigh 100 pounds if I go on something like this. Just from doing some basic juicing - I can say it definitely changes the way your mind works and gives you tons of energy.

  • If keeping weight on is an issue for you, then just make sure to eat a lot more of the calorie dense raw foods such as avocados, oils, and nuts. Please try to buy the nuts in the shell though as they will be more fresh. There's no need for you to be afraid, just move forward and give it a go! Peace

  • This is just what I needed to hear today. Yesterday was my 28th birthday and I decided that I want to start this next year of my life really working towards better health. Today I start my Raw foods journey. Biggest scare is that I'll slip up so this video really keeps it real.

  • Thank you for your honesty, it really helps me want to go more into raw food and not feel I have to be 'perfect' (or Californian!). I have eaten more raw since I started watching your films. Other raw fooders make me feel they have got it all sussed and I'm supposed to do what they do; you make me feel I can just be myself.

  • It is a slow gradual process! The longer you stay raw and get plenty of rest the stronger and stronger your adrenals will get! Your adrenals are getting stronger everyday!  Drink parsley juice mixed w/apples and carrots to build adrenal power!

  • Hi Dan, i started raw foods in April and have experienced the weight and health benefits.

    This week I have been eating like there is no tomorrow. After the bkft smoothie, I'm still hungry. I've enlarged my lunch. I'm still hungry. Dinner, I eat and eat. My stomach is now full, but I still want to eat.

    So far the scale has not registered an increase. I hope this phase ends soon before I regain my weight.

    Great video, but I say that every time. Now to check out the magazine...

  • David Klein is the reason I got into raw foods. He wrote the book Self healing colitis and chrons and it saved my life! I've been 90% raw since I read it, about 10 months ago. Off all meds, stomach feels better then ever, I just still don't have the energy these raw folks speak of. Makes sense that it will take time. I do get glimpses of high energy so I stick with it! I do get doubts sometimes that raw foods have everything we need. b12 and stuff... so I continue to experiment.

  • I have a suggestion. I have watched your vids but something thats missing is the end result. You always show what goes into it but not what it looks like after. If you show us what it looks like and maybe even taste it and describe it that would make it so much more real and motivating to try it out. Otherwise it just looks like you threw a whole bunch of health food into a blender and there's no connection there with wanting to try it for those of us who don't eat as well and would like to.

    I checked the link, very informative. I like th eidea about trying to be 80% first but i don't want to rely on that %20 if you know what i mean. I just know i will build up dependency around it.

    Think i'll use the 20% as a buffer for if i get really bad cravings. Something that doesn't compliment veg and fruit so i know i need to hunker down some more till its natural.
