My stock s2000 ran 13.7@102mph. That's quicker then most stage 2 GTI's will do. Give the s2000 some mods and a good driver and watch that all motor car give the ko3 fits.

Then take an s2k, a car built almost to its full potential already, and throw another 5k in mods in it just to save like 10lbs and add 5 hp... go figure... honda should throw some turbos on... but that sort of goes against what the honda race development has been about for the past oh... 30 years... correct me if im wrong
you are absolutely correct! there is no replacement for displacement unless you have a turbo. VW - Turbo FSI and DSG truly wonderful combination....torque and fuel economy.
the GT3076 seems like a good option to me. Anyway, the GTI is a very conservative car from stock. Weak turbo, bad torque drop-off toward the end of the powerband. But they're well put together. It is not exactly built to be a sports car. It's supposed to be fun and efficient. It handles amazingly, and $7000 that you would save buying a new GTI rather than a new S2000 can be used for the K04 upgrade which turns it into a high 12s low 13s car.
There are many cars that come from the factory that aren't very fast to begin with, but people easily make them into something that has respect on the road.
