Metal Gear Solid 2 - Otacon and Snake- Japanese Version

Yet again, of course people are saying "the English dub suckz cuz it ain't Japanese". Well guess what? it was still good. Besides that, you could say this Otacon sounds "too cool" for his character. Kojima wanted to paint him as a tech geek with deep character. The English voice makes the character fit better with his "archetype" (and I'm not steroeotypical). Still, it was good otherwise. Oh, and Akio Ohtsuka Snake FTW. He's as sweet as Hayter is!

Somehow, though I haven't understood a single word, the emotions were a lot more intense in the Japanese dub. If we could have the same intensity in the American dubs, I would be even more moved by the story.

Idk if it's just me but after MGS1 the japanese dubs were really ill fitting, they wete excellent dubs but just kinda outta place. Imo

@magnas27 The American versions haven't in the past. But don't let that stop you, PS3 discs are usually region-free and it shouldn't be too difficult to import the Japanese version.

Japense Otacon is more realistic... almost in every way...hey look the english dub is one of the best translations of all time but that doesnt change that crying englis was pathetic and funny verry funn its not even crying it sounds like he wants to laugh

Prove what? That users who post copyrighted material are getting there accounts closed? No I can't, and it's been too long since I have seen the vid of the user who's account is closed. What I do remember is that the user posted allot of Japanese Metal Gear Solid vids and that a particular scene I was curious about(this scene) was taking forever to load so I bookmarked and decided to look at it the next day. When I did the account was closed. I don't know if I'm wrong or right, but it was fishy.

Hal's crying in the original Japanese is a little more realistic, yeah. Christopher Randolph bawls loudly, but there isn't the "full involvement" Hideyuki Tanaka provides. (Maybe it's all in the nose.)

yeah, its hard to get into otacon's pain in the american ver. His crying was like "Wahhhhhhh! Waaaaahhhh ha ha ha! Haaa~!!" XDXDXDXD. I still think Christopher Randolf did good work though.

Kinda killed the mood abit. I guess I can cope with it tho. I love the MGS series. It's a game not for Simple Minded people.

For your information, Kojima DID pleased his fans...with the creation of 'Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance'...which allows you to play as Solid Snake in the same places where you could play as Raiden. This is what the fans were supposed to like, not just some "deal with it" answer.

Not Sons of Liberty, Substance, and yes it did fail. Yeah in Substance you were able to play as Snake, but no matter how you look at it, it wasn't the real game. Raiden was the main character, deal with it. I think it's finally time for people to just get over the fact that Snake wasn't the main character. People can bitch all they want, but they can't escape the fact that Sons of Liberty was a great game..even without Snake.

He actually was a pretty cool character in my opinion, and I appreciate Kojima makin' him so kick ass in MGS4.
