I love how Cujo leaves Toronto and bolts for Detroit, thinking he's going to win a Cup. Swept by the 7th seed Ducks and upset by the 6th seed Flames the following year. Not knocking either of those teams; they played very well. Too many people blame Cujo for this loss. Yeah he didn't play well but where was the offense? 6 goals in 4 games for the Wings and you expect your goalie to win games for you? Fedorov had 1 goal in that series and they were offering him huge money. Cujo doesn't play well and they bring back Hasek who couldn't even play a full season in 03-04. Wings got too arrogant in the summer of 03.

I love how Cujo leaves Toronto and bolts for Detroit, thinking he's going to win a Cup. Swept by the 7th seed Ducks and upset by the 6th seed Flames the following year. Not knocking either of those teams; they played very well. I just find it hilarious when players leave long time teams, thinking they're going to win it all and they end up playing golf after round 1-2.

Amazing what a run this team went on that year. 12-2 going into the Finals.
Too many people blame Cujo for this loss. Yeah he didn't play well but where was the offense? 6 goals in 4 games for the Wings and you expect your goalie to win games for you? Fedorov had 1 goal in that series and they were offering him huge money. Cujo doesn't play well and they bring back Hasek who couldn't even play a full season in 03-04. Wings got too arrogant in the summer of 03.

oh shut up lol. Well our old logo isn't as cool as our new 1 anyway. The teal looks cooler. The only thing is that some ppl think that the orange ruins the logo but i think it looks fine. The Ducks logo used to be cool. I think the 1 where it showes a hockey mask as a duck is awsome and chainging it to something taht says "Ducks" with the "D" suppose to represent a flipper isn't that great nor clever....

100% Agree. Not only that, but that was an era of hockey when the best players were Canadian and would not play for American teams due to national prejudice. Detroit still managed to win cups. In my book, that makes Detroit the best franchise in hockey. Had the Norris' dedicated themselves to the Wings more, I have no doubt the Wings would have over 30 cups.

I told my cousin (Also a Wings fan) that if Detroit didn't win the cups this year or another 10, I would have no right to be upset. From 96 to present, Detroit defines commitment to winning and "consistency". They have given me a lifetime of memories in the past decade. Most don't agree, but Gretzky's era of hockey was a joke. 0 defense and stand-up goalie styles. IMO, in todays defensive/brutal hockey, 4 cups in 10 years is a bionafied dynasty. The modern day Oilers are Detroit.

In this series i cheered cuz when the Ducks had they're old logo, they were my 2nd fav team only behind San Jose and after San Jose clinched 14th place i cheered the Ducks all the wya. The Wings were throwing the kitchen sink at J.S. Giguere in game 1, but after making about 60 saves and willing the game into triple OT, Paul Kariya scores and the Ducks won what they had no business winning. From there on out, they had confidence and a red hot Giguere. The rest was history.

Yea definatly. I mean everyone thought the Wings would either win in 5 or 6 but the Ducks won but not in 7 BUT IN 4!!! Experts on ESPN and Yahoo felt that the ducks could only win 1-2 games but they won all of them. The Ducks and Wild (who would've thought they could've beaten Colordao with that small talent) shocked everyone that year.

The Red Wings, since acquiring Shannahan, have not made such big moves as they did the Super Star year. Not since either. Hasek, Robataille and Hull all left the following years. Fedorov was a draft player as was Lindstrom and Yzerman. Detroit paid big to keep these draft players. Need I remind you that Robitaiile and Hull took pay cuts and begged to join the team?
