  • Steve Howe is such a brutal mother fucker. His soloing is so original and and special.

  • Dei Marillion ci sono solo Hogarth e Rothery all'inizio del video, dopo ci sono i Dream Theater

  • Nothing ruins a Marillion playlist like Steve Hogarth

  • 02:40 : Sherinian!! <3

  • just incredible seeing all these great musicians together

  • jajaja

steve howe toca con Dream Theater

    que engañamuchacho

el mejor de todos STEVE HOWE

  • Superb......thanks - love Steve Howe - love Yes & Marillion. Great gig. Strange comment about the keyboard sucks....?!!

  • @ stockjonebills i agree with you but they do have some good songs..like fatal trajedy or pull me under...

    this keyboardist sucks !

  • hahaha

We all like same band and nasty words i`m reading here.

Calm down people i thought guys who listen this kinda music are simular souls.

Btw Steve Hacket is good but there are a lot of better guitarists.

I`ll name the geniouse MIKE OLDFIELD.

And here we can finish the guitar contest:)

    Anyway my opinion

  • Isn't that Hogarth on vocal? If so the guy didn't get it totally wrong ;)

  • ...and Dreamtheater asshole

  • I guess none of you have ever heard of Steve Hackett (Genesis)

  • @JSStewart Man i heard a lot of Genesis music with S Hackett but Mr. Steve Howe is so so so, far away from Hackett, did you heard YES BAND ¡?¡¡?¡?¡?

Yes and his members ( JON ANDERSON, STEVE HOWE, CHRIS SQUIRE, RICK WAKEMAN AND ALAN WHITE are the most important band of all times.

    Arthur

  • to say other guitarists are more talented or better than S. Howe is pointless. "Other" guitarists didn't write or play on "The Yes Album", "Fragile", "Close To The Edge" "Tales", " Relayer", etc. These records will always be timeless prog. standards. I doubt any one will ever match the enourmas innovative legacy Steve created in prog music. I could say Steve Vai is the greatest guitar player that ever lived!....but there is no point in it.

  • Steve Howe: MAESTRO

  • Okay, wait! I love Marillion...Sugar Mice, Kayleigh...etc

But this is is really shameful. Mr. Howe, and I do say Mr. in this case, he is so far ahead that he actually feels (and looks)like he's left behind. Honestly, Steve is doing Marillion a favour, stick to "Sugar Mice" and the likes of....even Kayleigh.

  • what the hell are you talking about?

first of all this is dream theater and steve howe not marillion and steve howe?

and second, marillion is a great band.

  • To say Dream Theater is worthless is like holding a sign that says "I'm retarded".... I'm a huge Yes fan but even I'll admit there is more talent in JP's ass hair than Steve Howe has in his body. Steve Howe was more original for sure and probably is a reason why DT is better (more talented). If you're truly a yes fan then you must truly be a fan of musical talent. I'm not saying you have to like DT but I don't think it's fair to call them worthless.

    Put the sign down.

  • I'm sorry, but Steve Howe is so much more talented than John petrucci it's a joke.

He's the first guitarist to ever be able to play every style and genre flawlessly, and if it weren't for How , JP wouldn'tve learnt guitar anyway. Howe is his largest influence.

Sure, JP can shred faster, but he is not better.

I can appreciate dream theater, but they play Sport, not music.

Just speed, no emotion, and I doubt you're a good yes fan if you can't understand that.

    Dream Theater aren't worthless, but

  • I agree with what you're saying. JP is more talented though... although he rarely shows it nowadays.

Steve Howe is 100 times more original and is more influential to many more guitar players. Just to be a dick I'll say Howe isn't JP's biggest influence... it's Steve Morse.

I have every YES album. Some is great, some is good, some is blah. You can see how every member of YES helped forge what we call progressive/progressive rock music. I'm not trying to offend I'm just trying to be objective.

  • Agreed, they can play, but the music they play has much less depth and emotion. it is a very sterile antiseptic form of prog rock. chops chops chops but a lot of pentatonic pattern crap that just sounds dry.

  • 100% agreement from me...

Its pretty sad Dream Theater haven't grown out of the "Look at me!" phase...

  • You know this video is from... about 1991/92.

  • A little bit later (I think this was shortly after the I&W tour) but I wasn't making the comment about this video in particular, just about DT. The Best Of Times is a LOT better than anything they've released since Awake though imo.

  • I agree with you guys about Dream Theatre. Great musicians technically but their sound is generic and they dont really have any songs that are catchy, melodic or convey emotion.

  • Steve Howe blows them all away. There is no way that guy can keep up.

  • Way over Trevor Rabin.

  • this is DT feat everyone else.

they played a metallica cover after this.

  • Brilliant!!!

  • what is sad is that none of the audience know what yes are starship trooper are about - who are DT btw - never heard of them

  • marillion? haha

  • As others have noted in this thread, this is not Steve Howe with Marillion. The first 30 seconds have the two Steves from Marillion playing with Dream Theatre, but they're not playing "Starship Trooper" (they're playing a snippet from "Easter"). The rest of the video is Steve Howe with Dream Theatre only.

How dumb can the poster be for leaving this incorrect title up for a year? Good grief, man, correct the title. *rolls eyes*

  • nothing like fish man you cant beat him

  • Bullshit, Fish has ruined his voice with too much drinking. Steve H RULES!!!

  • o god almighty even fish has said on his web sites offcial forum he is well pissed off with the who is better him or H debates . marillion rock so does fish . end of .

  • This should be called "Steve Howe and Dream Theatre"! You got Petrucci, Portney and the bass player from DT...I don't see Marillion except Steve H right at the start. Two different videos maybe??

  • is that mike portney from dream theater playing drums??

  • Howe is god , sod Clapton

  • As Marillionmad said it's Steve Hogarth & Steve Rothery from Marillion with Dream Theater & Steve Howe.

  • of course it's not marillion. but steve howe is a giant

  • Just love this stuff ... it's great to have this kind of footage available for all to see/hear one of the greatest rock artists of all time.

  • I don't think that's Marillion, is it?

  • tis jus H wiv Steve there at the vry beginging wiv dream theater

  • Could this be Steve Howe and Dream Theater !!
