  • This was great! Specifically the part when you pointed out that the main character doesn't always have to achieve his goal, but in the end learns something about himself. I sort understood that already, but the way you phrased it really crystalized the idea. Thanks!

  • Great information. This is valuable information for me as I complete my novel.

  • When you were talking about not getting what they're after I immediately thought "Of Mice and Men", and there it was!

  • Of Mice and Men! How I loved the book and this movie!

  • Great video. Thanks.

  • Great stuff.

  • Hey, you gonna critique my comment ? :) Here goes. Nice video. You're to the point, pleasant and interesting. You make your points in an easily digestable way, in a pace that's flowing and rhythmic, in addition to containing meaning. For a beginning fiction writer, I have enough here to know that I should look further. Thanks for the help.

  • like neuromancer, catcher in the rye, and american gods. More of this videos please. Its really helpful

  • LENNIE! XDDD Love the book, love the movie. Nuff said.

  • Thanks, very well done, it is obvious you know what you're talking about.

  • I have no idea who this person is, whether he is a writer of books, scripts, etc, but this piece of information is much better then some "How To?" books I've read.

    Thank you!

  • Very interesting and thought-provoking. I wish the editing was a bit better. For other people who find this view on the relationship between storytelling and myth to be valuable and helpful, I would recommend reading Christopher Vogler's "The Writer's Journey," which is a distillation of Joseph Campbell's "The Hero With a Thousand Faces" written just for storytellers. Much the same application of myth as it relates to storytelling.

  • great job!

  • I really enjoyed your narrative, it is rich and very informative with extremely useful information and guides to writing. Thankyou for taking the time to produce this little gem. I like your presentation style as well.

  • this was informative and interesting, thanks for posting it

  • Thank You. Thank You. Thank You.

I've been looking for something like this.

  • Many Thanks for taking time to produce these lectures! Very Informative!

  • Very nice: The description of an important literary theme helped me with the novel I'm writing. The use of movie clips to emphasize his points made this video fun in addition to instructional.
