Which is what i call others struggling with this disease (b/c we have the same blood, LOL). If you have sickle cell, be as strong as possible and try to stay positive b/c a cure for this monster in our veins is soon to come!! I love you all (my SCell family)!! Reach out and keep in touch
I have lived and struggled with sickle cell anemia my whole life (27yrs). It is a very painful ordeal and it comes with many hurddles!! It's many days that i struggle with low to no energy while at the same time trying to carry on day to day as "normaly" as i can. I have friends and family that do not understand what i go through with this and when i try to explain, i'm met with alot of confussion!! I love my sickle cell family...
Im a 15year old boy who lives in bronx Ny with sickle cell anemia the full diseases........ It does not feel like i have it because i play jv basketball and im in shape everyda i have to thank God because watching this girl makes me feel very fortunate for my health........... and by the im going to be a future NBA player
I have SC as well, and my case was extreme to put it mildly, yet Hydroxyurea really turned things around for me....should anyone have quesitons. Feel free to ask...
I have Sickle Cell as well, Im 25 years old. I get Blood Transfusions every 3 weeks to prevent strokes and to help me with my crisises. The pain is very painful, I cant even describe what it's like. Thats how painful a crisis is, I also have to take a lot of pain meds to help me with the pain. I take Oxycodone, Morphine and Motrin, when Im in the hospital or ER they give me Dilaudid through the IV.
@MsLafaye100 Same here!! I have to get blood transfusions and when hospitalized i get Dilaudid and Phenerghan to help me get thru the pain. I know what you're goin' thru, my prayers are with you!! what is your fb name if you dont mind?? I responded to the video as well btw
Am also a patients who lives in Ghana..but seeing Alexander going through all this is not easy.. for us here in Ghana we may not even know that stroke is coming cos we all can't afford brain scan.
The only thing i do is to take my medication, do some good exercise, go for check up n drink a lot of water..
i must say i don't remember the last time i had a blood transfusion. I believe God is in Control..
Im a boy thats 14yrs old and I live in dallas tx
