50 mph as clocked on the GPS - the angle of the ground does make a difference, but really not enough to worry amount. For example, we did 58 mph down "Salom" at Breckenridge, but it really was 60 mph when taking the angle of the hill into account.

And the grunting is my brother trying to catch his breath after hammering down the slope to get into position

its 50mph according to horizontal movement. he really is going faster because he is going down a hill. gps doesn't take that into account
