ok let me share my opinion, personally if this is legit C 2 viral campaign then it is completely different then C 1 style viral campaign. 1. C 1 was done primarily from websites and subtle things, thus nothing as big as youtube. 2. this stuff is complete nonsense and has no thinking involved in it, 3. my theory on these two videos are that there fan made and kinda like a honor to cloverfield cause it has elements of Cloverfield like random thing falling, and cloverfield popping up.

I would believe it, if the cuts weren't so precise. When you check to see if the film is recording in a miniDV camera you don't STOP the tape and then play it for a few seconds and then RESUME recording. As if you can't tell from the view finder that the little "Record" icon is flashing.

Kudos to whoever made this one because I can't tell if the backgrounds are the real deal or CG replacement. Very impressive, or just someone with a really beautiful view.

They're horribly made. The 1st video is just video spliced in from a Cloverfield dvd. That poor effort should have been enough to call fake, right there. Abrams/Reeves/Bad Robot/Paramount are a lot more clever than this. Also, the flashing/cutting back in this video makes no sense at all...it's not like she is accidently hitting play everytime. No amount of damage would make it do that. People are really gullable and apparently bad at distinguishing the real thing from obvious fan made video.

The biggest reason I don't think they're real is because...while they are impressive...they just aren't as well done as they should be, especially for such a high profile release as this movie will be. The shot of the monster over the city in the first clip is HORRIBLE...and really..there's NOTHING going on in these clips that anyone with a bit of knowledge about editing programs can do. Again..they're cool..and I hope I'm wrong...but I think they're just really well made fan stuff.
