There is a website for the special branch that sells the vehicles. Tanks and such come across occasionally. I'll send it to you in a private message as I don't need a bunch of competition
Where are you located? Requirements for importation vary widely between jurisdictions. Is there a website where you have seen vehicles for sale in Poland? I am looking for additional vehicles and parts myself. Where do you get in contact with the special branch of the Polish military that sells equipment?
@blueleadermark you can find parts , but last i heard is few countries use the t-55 but the t-55's they use has been modified to keep up with the 3rd generation of M-60a3 pattons , the t-55am2 has parts that can probably be used on a reg t-55, i like the t-55 but they have a rip off price for the tank
Man I know this video has been around a while, but I wanted to say if anyone is seriously interested you can purchase these vehicles directly from the Polish military in the same condition as blueleadermark for about 15k-20k. There is a special branch to buy them from. It's not to difficult to do here in the USA.
awesome tank man,...is the tank of yugoslav origin?? sort of looks like jna marking?? also, the t34/85 or a joseph stalin tank would be great to own..
I am going to try and purcahse a tank in my home country of Serbia, they are retiring many military tanks right now about 510 T-55 tanks, i wish i could get from them a T-72 tank.
If you are going to but one get it from the Czech republic. The never went any farther than the maintainance sheds where they were constantly rebuilt. Most from other areas have been used hard and are not in as good shape.
what a brilliant feeling, nice video. Did you buy this T55 from beboys in the uk? I've seen the same one on their website. What were they like to deal with? Are you happy with your purchase and do you recommend them?
Hey Paul, sorry about the delay. I am for the most part pleased(thrilled) with my purchase as you can imagine. Bob Grundy at British military vehicles is a solid and honest guy and I would have no reservations about buying from him or having him buy on my behalf. He was of great assistance in the prep and transport of the vehicle and found and supplied all the necessary parts for the track conversion. He is well connected and knowledgable. And no, he's not paying me to say this. Mark
Rubber padded tracks are a must but so is reliability, parts availability and parts affordability. Unfortunately, British and American tanks don't fall in those categories. I was looking at an M47 Patton as well (very cool) but if I needed a piston for that engine I would have to have it made at a cost of several thousand dollars whereas I recently saw a crated T62 engine complete for $2500.
For a good one you are looking at about $100 000 all in when you consider transport for something like this can be as much as the vehicle. There are several sites on the net where they are for sale but import is through gov agencies.
So Mister neighborhood commitee chairperson, I still can't paint the house that shade of blue you ruled on?

You *OWN* a T-55? Very impressive. How much did it run you?
Who sold this to you? I know very old mothballed Soviet-era arms are all over (and Wiki had that the Russia alone produced over 100,000 T-55s).
Cyrillic controls are a little hard to read, eh? =) Wonder what the inside looked like (I can read Russian.) Bet it was fascinating.
Just as a laugh, reminded me of Walter in Big Lebowski-
"That was Nam... wasn't an Abrams against Iraqis trying to find Reverse in an old Soviet tank."

is the main gun of that T-55 still operational just asking ^_^

$62,000 for a T-55? Not bad. Be more fun to have a BMP or BDRM. They might be narrow enough to make road legal.
Bullzeye95 3 years ago
really? i might save enough for one of these to compete with my neighbors muscle cars.
NaPalm625 3 years ago 8
roughly how much would a second hand T-55 cost?
ToonandBBfan 3 years ago
Mine had 95 original km when I bought it rather than having been abused and worn out.
blueleadermark 4 years ago
Doesn't it measure engine hours, rather than km? Or both?

Nice! I have driven 2 types of t-55. The T-55A and the T-55ARV"bull". Respect for other fans. :)
T55TankR 4 years ago
I would love a t-55ARV. I don't have anything capable of getting my T-55 "unstsuck" at this time. I'd have to use a D9 Cat.

Great stuff, its a dream of mine to own a tank.
