  • A man's wife always ciff tge ebds of her pot-roast. Her new gysbabd asked why, & she said her mom did it. Her mom.....said HER mom did it. The grandmother said.........my pots were too short(!) Esther ---people today don't want tradition.....or to be "drafted into a kind of Peace Corps -- for life -- from birth. Rich people are Happy! Having fun is HAVING FUN! Volunteer work with sad people makes one mor depressed! Depression isn't a sin -- it's HUMAN!

  • In "1776", John Addams said, (to Th. Jefforson who was to write the Declaration of Independence.....but wasn't doing it): :I'ts been two weeks! The world was created in 6 days"" To which Jefferson says to the know-it-all Addams: "Someday you must tell me how you did it." Do YOU know EVERYTHING Rebbitzen? Does Judaism?

How come SO many people are SO HAPPY when they are NOT Jews! Judaism offers nthing but "tzurus". I want to be H A P P Y !

  • Some depression is biochemical and the person is not responsible for this. It is not a sin.

  • Now, could you please tell us what to do when a person HAS chemical imbalance?

  • soooooooo true!!

  • findnwatch88, she is not referring to medical depression when it's a chemical imbalance. She is referring to self inflicted depression.

  • @Aelintari

Thank you for the clarification! :) בעזרת ה' everyone who suffers from medical depression will understand this and still seek the medical help they need. Perhaps another word would have made it clearer? Such as self-pity or an uncheerful disposition?

  • She doesn't have enough medical knowledge to speak this way on depression. Depression isn't a sin because it's not a choice. It is something people need to seek medical help for. At least she recognizes depression as having chemical aspects, but she should use a a different word than "depression" for non-chemical things.

  • you probably know better than our sages.

  • "Sin means to miss the point of your life"

    Very well spoken.
