I love your style and I envy all the vintage clothing you have. I would so dress like that if i could, but i doubt i could pull it off as well as you can.
@CrispNightmareCrew ...white dress? I'm not sure which one appears to be white :( Maybe the yellow one at the end? It's a yellow 50s dress, my mother got it off of Etsy for me :)
wow and every dress seemed to fit you perfectly! love the "free now" track you sang here... i remember those days (my teens in the 90s) when I would sing such angry sort f songs :) we probably had been buddies then!
@ProfessorLongbottom Awe, thanks so much :) I don't have good equipment, but I love music a lot. I would love to do something further in the future :)
Can you give tips on caring for vintage clothing (as far as washing, drying, ironing). Is it ok to use the washing machine and regular wash detergents?
You are right, what an excellent point! Vintage garments definitely need special care. Even cotton garments, which are the simplest to deal with, need to be handled carefully... they should be washed on cold and use only gentle, if any, detergents. Also, some particular garments may need to be laid out flat to dry.
Other materials such as silk, wool and crepe cannot be washed at all. If you must, carefully "spot"-clean the damaged area (a little gentle hand-soup and lukewarm water)...depending on the condition of the piece, you might save it. It sounds gross, but I try to avoid washing vintage garments altogether...Wearing a slip underneath keeps your sweat and oils from touching the garment. For anything more specific, do a search on the material for the needed care... that's what I do in special cases :)
Your singing is awesome! ( it 's reminiscent of sonic youth) I was so impressed to learn it was you. You should keep in mind anyone criticizing your music probably loooves the Jonas brothers.
I love your channel all your videos are WONDERFUL, I consider myself sort of a artist desinger so i appreciate all unique one of a kind talent and i just love your singing in this video infact its on my playlist.

It really does depend on where you shop... I've bought vintage dresses ranging from $1-$100... and I'm not joking. Thrift stores have the cheapest vintage clothes, but of course they don't come in large quantities there. Vintage stores have have medium prices ($10-$50 range), ebay is a hit or miss and Etsy runs on the expensive side... so look around, you can definitely find items within your budget ^_^
the amp has a built in flanger or something that's cool you sing and play with all your vid's.. i try and do the same like I figure " why not"...best thing about you tube to me is that you can do it allllll your self.
is there anything that you don't look good in?...if thats possible.. I'd like to see you in some clod hoppers or some goonberry air force one's.. or geez maybe not.......you play that guitar?...you have like a ton of clothes an knick knacks..
Wow there is such a thing as dying a dress black?? Cause I recently got in my jacuzzi with a black dress but now its all brownish/purpleish. The only reason I got in with a dress is because a friend and I were walking home from school and it was hot, so we just decided to get in, so it wasnt really planned.. I know that wasnt smart, & saw that coming but no biggie, the dress only costs $4 :D
Bottom line is I wish I could dye my dress back to black.. :(
Yes, its actually quite easy! I bought a pack of black dye pack from wal-mart, and it was only about $1! Then I mixed it with some warm water and let the dress set in it for a while (just following the instructions), then rinsed it out. I know you can do it! Just hopefully you don't mind dying the WHOLE dress black, because there's no way of only doing part of it :)
Oh i am so nervous, im going thrifting this saturday and i have no clue how im gonna get lucky and find some awesome clothes XP i have horrible bad luck you see with shoppinh.
You make it look so easy, and youre style is flawless. (:
Thank you, dear! ^_^ I have a several searches "saved" on eBay... my favorite one is "dress" in the 50s-early 60's category, and I also have searches set for the WW2 and 60s/70's mod category :)
I could imagine you in a movie similar to the Notebook. The stylists wouldn't even have to touch you, you'd already fit the part! (= I truly love your videos and vintage style. It's so feminine and innocent. I wish I had your wardrobe! =P
Im also curious to know, where do you get the ideas for these styles? hehe Im a teensy bit impaired when it comes to imagination. :P lol So all I currently have for references is the internet. How sad. lol
PS: Where on earth did you get that petticoat? I LOVE it!! haha
Wow, I am inspired by so many different thing! Also, my fashion sense has really evolved over the years... I went from punk-goth-punk-Japanese fruits/lolita-sexy business woman-...this? lol Well, now I watch old movies and look at old magazine pix for inspiration. Wardroberemix(.com) is also a MUST, I am a regular there :)
wow. i really have to say you have amazing style. i wish i had a wardrobe like that. i think you should be a fashion designer, or stylist. i love your channel please make more videos! =]
You continue suprising me by fitting my taste exactly. These are the WOMAN dresses which used to show the natural body curves, and not supress the body like today´s cloth. Still they were inocent and not revealing too much ,,,,,,I love the sialor´s dress..
I must say. that you are so cool and I'm in love with your dresses. i'm a guy age 17. and and does the vintage stile. inspired by the 1950's. and i just love it. I found some pretty cool stuff. my glasses are a pair from france from 1954 in the typical style of that time.. well just want to give you my respect for being so cool.. (sorry if my english is a little bad. I'm from Denmark)
I wish I looked as good as you do in vintage attire. It's all about the sleeves for me - I can't work with most sleeves that are bubbly and poofy. My neck is so long I just look...strange haha. But you realy pull it off!
Yeah, even for me, it can be rough! I search and hunt really hard - sometimes I find some nice things and other times I don't. I also supplement (yes, like a vitamin, lol) my vintage with on-line shopping, besides vintage, thrift, antique stores and estate sales.
With a mixture of all these shopping resources, it makes it that much easier to fill-in my wardrobe with vintage pieces ^_^
Do you have any recomendations for vintage looks for someone who is more curvey and more, umm, busty? Not saying you arn't I'm just very busty. Sorry : /
lol, that's ok! ^_^ For someone with curves, I would say "embrace them"! Because I love a woman with curves, honestly. Something I would NOT recommend: tent, smock or otherwise known as, SACK dresses. They add width and are horrible, except for stick-skinny girls. Shirtwaist dresses are good, (they add emphasis to a narrow waist) and pencil skirts are often good, wrap dresses and trumpet skirts. Baby-doll or empire waisted articles of clothing are not usually good on curvy girls..
Low (but not slutty-low!) necklines, such V-necklines, sweetheart necklines and scoop-necklines are best for a larger bosom, because they add length to the neck and give the illusion that your bust is smaller.
Also, it will probably be easier to wear separates, rather that one-pieces ^_^
hey great job... love your clothes you know the tricks and the trade of fashion :) fashion always recycles itself and you're becoming a fashion leader!!
sailor dress completed my life! these videos make me want to go shopping haha

Thank you! But somehow, I bet you could pull it off better than you think ^_~

SOMEHOW haha, I just have to figure out how.

srsly, HOW ARE YOU SO STYLISH & VINTAGE??!!
you are my hero/role model
i try to be vintage... but it never really works
i can never find good pieces, i live by absolutely NO vintage stores :(
whaddupchunt 2 years ago
Aw, thank you!

I love that most of these dresses are modest! I love your style!

Thank you, I wouldn't dream of anything other than personal modesty! ^_^

Do you have any recomendations for vintage looks for someone who is more curvey and more, umm, busty? Not saying you arn't I'm just very busty. Sorry : /
Kirsty2703 2 years ago
lol, that's ok!

Hope that helps!

so i'm guessing you have a passion for target shoes. haha :)
i hope you stick to your word and make a part 2.
i want to see more vintage outfits.
LittleMissJuicebox 3 years ago
Yes, I do like Target shoes! I guess it's because they've had a good run of vintage reproductions lately.
Not a problem! I'll probably wait a little while, just to get some of my requests out of the way... but I'll definitely keep my word ^_~
