good video saw 60019 a few hours ago the advantages of living just 100 meters from the railway line, ive seen some stupid trespassing but the guy at 5:10 really does take the biscuit what the hell does he think his doing?!
This kind of filming must take alot of forward planning and getting the timings just right. I find it a difficult organising myself for a single excursion, let alone 2 and an oddball appearance lol.
I thought YouTube would be a waste of time for good quality steam videos until I came across your work. It is technically, logistically and culturally at a semi-pro level. Having 2 cameramen obviously helps - and they are both good! You have inspired me to share some of my work on YouTube, once I have transcoded the file sizes down a bit to upload them - but only my best efforts will be in your league. Well done - especially the night shots!
Terrific footage! - especially for winter conditions. I wish I'd known all that was going on last December, I live close to the stretch seen towards the end of the clip and would have been up there like a shot. I recognised the cutting between Chilworth & Shere before reading your description. It's about 10-15 min drive from me (Cranleigh).
Thanks for your comment. I don't quite understand your question but my brother provides additional material with a second camera and the whole lot is edited together afterwards.The only post production is a bit of colour correcting.
Great video but there appears to be to many people who don't realize the dangers of trespassing on the main line potentially causing the demise of these excellent excursions. At Barnes man beyond end of platform 1:56. Man has walked up the cess from the foot crossing to the hut at 4:40 to take his video.
We could really do with another Merchant on the main line, couldn't we?* Clan Line is used exclusively by VSOE, so there'd be plenty of opportunities for another. Maybe Port Line, as it's currently being overhauled?
*Merchant as in Merchant Navy, not as in 'banker', like that bloke behind the hut beside the line with the tripod.

The editing in this film is just incredible. You and brother worked really hard to make this film at its best, very well praised too both of you gents. Very well made quallity!
