july 14 there was a $10 drop, not seen in sometime the day bush announced uplifting the ban. n a way this attacks speculators. this was b4 the real 'crisis,' of the mortage/banks, etc. Also congress let their ban expire - i believe to save face. so technicly, they can drill, but companies r unsure to move on it b/c of upcoming election should they chose to ban it again.

NBC jsut reported last night that OPEC is cutting production to force the price back up because the price is dropping in the market.

That has nothing to do with drilling bans.

The market is crashing.

Iraq is no where near Afganistan dumb shit and WE SHOULD be sending more troops to Afganistan as every troop we have meet has said.

None of this changes the fact that we still have NO COMMODITY controls.

The percentage of oil we would have to produce even if we did get it inside ONE year would still cause OPEC to retaliate by flooding the market and buying us out.

But we can't even produce that much in FIVE years.

To break free we need alternative fuels we can make NOW!

The lift of the drilling ban did not effect prices. THE ENTIRE MARKET IS CRASHING! Supply and demand is no longer a factor. It is survival now. Even with the executive order dropped, you still have to get around the house and senate before we get the market return. Our market center might be weak but it isnt stupid. They know that drilling will not lower prices. But desperation WILL. None of this has changed the DOW still dropping or mortgage rates. Get a clue.

i'm from eastern NC...look it up...the most friendly military state....and have marines and soldiers and friends and family....so obviously i'm not off the reservation here.....we have a volunteer force, and many re-enlist b/c of what OUR govt offers them!!!!! I suggest you should do the same....some of those soldiers are true, other's are merely disgruntled workers.
